After going through a nightmare trying--"how hard can it be?"--to find XP drivers for an HP F763NR a few weeks ago this looks like a bargain.
Amazing, they've made it as hard to find win xp drivers for some devices as it is to find linux drivers. Nice work folks!

...but unless robotics have really improved recently, I doubt this robot will have enough power to give the user a satisfying strangling grip and slapping power. The haptics problem here is not trivial and needs much more funding and maybe an xprize/GNC type competition.

Oh come on, that's ridiculous! Spreading money around flat makes no sense...
Just a quick example of why:
Estimates show that about 27% of Medicare's annual $327 billion budget goes to care for patients in their final year of life. (from here: http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/health/2006-10-18-end-of-life-costs_x.htm). 15k dollars might make a slight difference in helping a healthy household get through an easy year, but for older folks it's not even close to replacing medicare.
Why don't they just take Media Player Classics controls and use those? That's one of the best UIs around IMO. I have VLC, but use MPC as my primary player.
I got a card in the mail for this yesterday. I personally feel its ridiculous. Sure they're using the industry standard way of marketing hard disks...every other company does the same thing. Why does creative get hit with this? Why not sue apple for it...they certainly have more money to win.
Are they going to go on to sue all the hard disk manufacturers too? Are we going to see federally mandated explanations of digital storage capacity? Will they use gibibytes?
btw: I've been very happy with my creative muvo^2 mp3 player. It's ugly, but sounds great and still works perfect despite two years of abuse...has a standard dc 5v jack on it so i can continue to use it after the lion dies...
We know from the airline industry that one way travel is inherently more expensive than round trip. So in order to save the taxpayers money I think we should opt for round trip.

I think they mean re-education ("therapy" a la A Clockwork Orange).
BTW: I hope none of the ringtones they "create" sound too much like anything hollywood puts out. They might then get a first-hand lesson in IP (like the Verve with Bittersweet Symphony).

Hopefully google will sweep in and buy AOL and get a good price for it. I think that'd be an easy way to pick up a bunch of users who aren't so tech saavy while upping its marketshare in email and IM.
I hope they kill off the aol portal and AIM and replace them with something decent.
I know google's getting too big for its britches, but I also want to see them keep beating up MSFT. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, for now at least.

Ridicule is a two way street. They could have (maybe they did) made fun of you for proposing that then-preposterous idea of panacea. -G

"Go ahead, throw your vote away!"
What are you going reading TFA!?!?!?! Get out of here with your fancy pants facts!
Most real Motley Crew fans aren't on iTunes. They're buying their CDs at walmart. The rockband purchasers are just being ironical. -G

If nasa was cloning your dog it'd be 10x more expensive and take 10x as long =)
Right on! Can I sue McDonalds for not filling my "44oz" soda to the top?

"You just don't get it, do you Scott?"
It's probably a sissy architecture with like 30 instructions.
Oh come off it man. What could you possible want an FM radio for on a ipod?! =)
yea, they let their legal dogs slip to get Gaim to change its name to pidgin.

be careful they only license you the shirt, with the ability to take it back at any time.
I cant even read this post with such mundane tags. I suggest "dieyoucorporatepigs" for no good reason.
here here! Dan would kick that guys ass!

I can't be bothered to check, but are you the same guy who made the converse joke in that /. thread?
