A CD is a hard, physical back-up of data (eg. music). If your hard drive crashes, you can reinstall your daat (music) from the physical back-up. This has saved me many a times.
Further, you can play it in your DVD drive and get better sound quality than you normally get from your mp3s and AACs./sarcasm
Uh, the parent's conclusion was that good shoes reduced pain in his/her body that was caused (or exacerbated) by bad shoes. How you drew the conclusion that he/she was saying that "good shoes are better than barefoot" I don't know. And in my experience, the parent is correct. Good shoes have made a world of difference in reducing my running pain as well, mostly by correcting bad technique.
And, as to the OP, I never realized how over-engineered running shoes have become until recently. My newest style of shoe is basically some cushioning and rubber. They are light, fairly cheap (for running shoes) and comfortable. They are the best pair I have owned.
This is why I wonder why people say the CD is dying (dead). I just lost a 1 TB HD half full of DVDs, CDs & iTunes purchases. Gone. At least it forced me to listen to the CDs again and realize how much better they sound than 128kb mp3s.
Why buy from Apple? When I upgraded my RAM for my MacBook ProI got it at New Egg. When I bought my Windows PC from Dell, I didn't by my RAM upgrade from there Dell. I bought it at New Egg as well. Apple and Dell are not in the stand alone component market, they couldn't compete in that market with what they charge.
Mormons legislators have never been against stem cell research. While Mormons are most often lumped in with conservative Fundamentalist Christians, they differ on some points of doctrine like stem cell research and evolution.
Now I know the Mormon tag is for humor and really not that offensive. But the post above being modded +5 insightful caused me to raise my eyebrows.
First, not drinking coffee and tea is inconsiderate and disrespectful? I guess next your going to say that not smoking pot is disrespectful and inconsiderate.
Second, the bill barely made it past its first committee vote on an 8-6 vote. Hardly an argument that Mormons believe this is a good idea.
Third, I am failing to understand what it is in Mormon doctrine that prohibits keyword tags. Conservatives and Corporations have a vested interest in keyword ads, but Mormons? It appears that you are defending Mormon haters. Now that is disrespectful.
Look, it is a bad bill. I know the Utah legislature passed a law in 2004 that did something similar, but their constituents complained (yes, they are Mormons too) and the law was repealed. But tagging this story for something other than to be funny? Please.
When I managed a fast food restaurant, when the owner came into town he would pay for his food. Why? Because my bonus was based on my store's revenues. Even though he owned the food he was paying for, he knew that my livelihood could depend on the $5 he spent for lunch. His five bucks helped pay the rent, wages, etc.
Even though he was one of the main contributors to the album, Lars still needs to recognize that other people's livelihoods are also dependent on his paying for the album.*
*This is all based on the assumption that downloads hurt album sales. I don't personally believe that, But Lars does. His download, even though I don't personally think hurt anyone, is inconsistent with his line of thinking.
Wouldn't that be 450,000,000 square meters of scrubbing material, not actual towers? Still a lot of towers, but not on the magnitude you are imagining.
This case wasn't about patents anyway, it was about trademarks. As far as I can tell, if the makers of Scrabulous change the name and remove all trademark infringing IP like the game board, they can re-release the game.
You pretty much spell out why I am against Term Limits. A good, honest politician keeps getting re-elected because the opposition stinks. If I had to vote between to stinkers knowing a fairly good representative can't serve due to term limits I would be pretty upset. And yes, I have voted for Jim Matheson in the past and like having him in congress. Without him Utah would probably be represented by more people like Chris Cannon. *shudder*
Of course it is going to fail. If the public can't find other legitimate sites, how are they going to find this new one. This is like helping the blind find a phone by hanging a sign above it. If they can't see the phone, they won't see the sign.
"iTunes - Great. Don't own an iPod. Not planning to. Decent video quality only if you plan to watch on tinyscreen."
Movies on iTunes are not sized for your iPod. Most are 640x480 (or thereabouts.) iTunes videos look good on your computer screen, and I think that is pretty much what they are sized for.
The downsides of iTunes video: Apple's DRM for their videos suck. Also you have to download iTunes software, which some people hate (I personally like it, but it does have a large memory footprint.)
Lego Star Wars (and Indiana Jones) is a puzzle game of sorts, and is very replayable. I agree they are somewhat hard to make, but it can be done and very successfully.
If Apple's arguments are based on the EULA, why are they suing Psystar and not the end user (it is an End User Licensing Agreement after all)? Selling a box that is compatible with a Mac OS, along with the OS itself, doesn't break the terms of the EULA. That is assuming EULAs are even legal to begin with.
So what if they are not "performing" artists, but purely "recording" artists such as the Beatles (after, I think, Revolver they stopped performing live until the Get Back session)? Many good artists don't perform much live. I hear the "pay to perform" meme repeated over and over, but it seems a little short-sighted to me.
Why not iTunes? Is iTunes more evil than a record label? I mean this question seriously since they are selling songs in a high quality DRM free format.

If inflation gets that bad, your currency *is* your toilet paper.
An AC is not a joiner. Who would have thought..:)
Maybe she needs to be in a show with Andy Richter. Do two curses cancel? I wonder.

I am currently working on my MBA. It's pretty much the same thing from my experience.

It would be worse if he were not so anonymous (such as the mail man.)
He is not quite a grammar Nazi yet. He is more of a grammar Jungsturm. Give him a few more years.

"Obama's elected office:
* 7 years state senate
* a little under 4 years in US senate
Rounding down, that gives Palin 8 years, most of which was at the city level, and Obama 11 years, all of which is at state level or above."
Rounding down-you use this word, I don't think you know what it means.
But seriously, your argument would carry more weight if you applied your criteria to both candidates. You tipped your hand about your bias a bit.
This case wasn't about patents anyway, it was about trademarks. As far as I can tell, if the makers of Scrabulous change the name and remove all trademark infringing IP like the game board, they can re-release the game.
And this, my friends, is how crooks get re-elected to office.

Given your comment, I find your sig a bit ironic.
