Also, isn't the GP implying that if there is only one reason that online communities exist and 35+ types are only there looking for a 16 year old girl to screw, then 35- types are only there looking for a 16 year old girl to screw as well? Well, maybe he is right.
I hold the opposite view: CDs are better. Not perfect, but better. CDs are mopre versitile. I can rip them to mp3 or any other format. A CD is a hard copy. In ten years my CD will still work. On the other hand, an mp3 gets lost when a hard drive crashes (five years). The mp3 format is lossy so not as dynamic as an CD. With the internet all the meta-data is accesible for the CD, so the mp3 does not even have that advantage.
I am not anti-mp3, in fact I think the record labels missed an early opportunity to provide downloads when there was a great demand. But mp3s are not a replacement, but a supplement to CDs.
I would love RFID tags left on my CD/DVDs. What I want is a reader/scanner and some software so I can inventory my library and keep track of when my friends/family walk out with one or two. I don't mind them being borrowed, I just want to know when they go out the door and with whom. Plus,it would be nice to know what I have.
This echoes my sentiments exactly. I think the failure of astronomers is explaining why this should be important. Even here on slashdot where I like to think people are more interested and informed about science there are many people scratching there heads over this or pissed off. Nomenclature is important in any scentific field.
If it was only a matter of the artistic integrity of listening to the entire album, why do CDs allow you to skip tracks? There is no outrage over that.
Except that I am an adult. I don't want to stumble upon porn sites, especially at work. And I am not interested in children's sites. Don't assume because you are ok with porn that everyone is at all times. I am not saying that.xxx is the way to go, but there has to be a way that porn could be fenced into an area that only those that want to view it, or want to limit there use of it can.
I find it amusing that anti-evolutionists insist that evolution is "just a theory." I also find it amusing that pro-evolutionists get defensive about it. Look, "theory" is not a dirty word. Theories are simply working models that we test to prove (or more acurately disprove.) The fact that evolution is still a theory is quite a positive thing, it has stood the test of time is is still not proven false.
Nearly all science is based on "theory." We don't need to think of that as a bad thing.

Only one day of major terrorist bombings in NY? Trade center bombing and 9/11 are at least two. (Just a nitpick to your joke)

If I was on the jury I would push for Jury Nullification.
Not only did he miss out on the college experience, it sounds like he must have missed the high school experience as well.
Marathon? More like a 5K.
I think Arizona is trying to make a voting booth a lottery booth. Is that close enough?

How about doctors trying to get a Jehovah's Witness to allow a blood transfusion for their child.
Next time delete their background music. That is one of the most irritating thing about most myspace websites.

Also AAC is a lossless compression format. So you are not getting the entire sound spectrum (not that most people even know or care about that.)
Are they cute. I have always wanted to fuck two sisters. ;)
like for when your row boat springs a leak.
Hey FBI, I got your terrorist right here. ----->
Now that's just in bad taste.
But I do believe the European Patent System has already been patented. For the US to move in that direction would require expensive licensing fees.

Yeah, with a lithium ion battery we are talking serious underclocking.
They shouldn't have released a sequel to episode 1/2, because the other half of Episode one stank.
I think if you are Luke to your gals Leia she is sleeping with the mailman (wasn't Han just a glorified delivery boy?)
All too true.
Enough already! We need an April Fools icon so that I can weed out the bogus stories.
