It's a good thing Windows is so friendly and intuitive to use. Why would anyone want to edit text file configs in Linux when they can just locate the key "jknb31r289cjk1289" and change it (obviously) to "9889cfjk12q9fcvfd"
Why would one do this if they can just format the hard drive, install all the software again and recover backups? That's much more productive!
He said he did some programming in 1987. That doesn't mean he's actually a programmer now.
I am pretty sure he is a programmer nowadays. If he was into programmer as a tenager in 1987 AND he wants to recover what he programmed, he can only be a geek. He is a Slashdotter, for Pete's sake!
You just forgot to mention that Brazil has been making ethanol from sugar cane since the 70's and it hasn't affect the price or availability of food. At least not more than other problems, like inflation, droughts or speculation.
A few years ago here in my country there was a case of a woman who was accused to kidnapp two babies and register them as her legit kids. Well, about 20 years later the story came out, she was arrested, but since the kidnapped babies saw her as a mother, they defended her. One of them, during reporting to the police chief smoked two cigarettes and refused to provide a blood sample for a DNA test. The police then managed to get her DNA sample for the saliva left in the cigarettes' butts and proved she wasn't legit. They didn't have to stick a needle in her.
The ones in France would say "le ugh" for masculine and "la ughe" for feminine. The ones in Spain would say "el ugho" for masculine and "la ugha" for feminine. And the ones in Portugal would say "o ugho" for masculine and both "a ugha" and "a ughe" for feminine.
(DISCLAIMER: I'm fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and I've studied French for about a year.)
With an operating temperature of 6000k how many do I need to heat my house?
That won't work, because the temperature it reaches has nothing to do with the amount of heat it emmits. Besides, if it's almost 10 times as efficient as ordinary bulbs, you would have 10 times as much light to get the same heat. You would get warm, but I doubt you would able to sleep with that much light.
After reading "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", the British Space Agency came to conclusion that it's too dangerous to send an english person to the space.
How could a Russian Reversal joke be modded offtopic, specially on an article about cold war?
HA HA! Fantastic! I wish I had mod points...
[...] but saying file sharing is a subset of freedom of speech seems like a stretch.
And so is calling copyright infringement "theft", isn't it?

No, I didn't read the article. But if that applies to taller people too, I'm happy for being just 1.66m (5'5" for americans) tall!

A woman here? And not related to the computer industry? I call foul. (Although, her point is interesting!)

The parent post was brought to you by "Things Kids Say"! Applause!
"Dinosaur civilization"?!?!?! o_O Woot!

(With apologies to Voltaire)
AND God.
But will it run Vista?
Does anyone reading this know what's going on?
Lobby from Brazil.

And... is that allowed by the EULA? (No, I haven't read it)
Even being modded funny, an emulator would be very interesting as an "educational tool" about how the machine works.
From now on I want to be called "European-South-American". Thanks.
Grab a handful of tit ANYWHERE and a large portion will be silicone.
There, I fixed that for you.
You don't have to buy a computer either...
(Now I get modded "-1 troll" or "-1 flamebait", even using the same logic as the parent post)

Who is it that we have to thank?
Al Gore, of course! After all, he invented the internet, remember?
... he even died tomorrow!
The article states he died on wednesday, but it's still tuesday!
(I know, I know... it's due to the time zones...)
