  1. Didn't Bungie Do This First? on Slashdot's Disagree Mail · · Score: 1

Bungie started posting the funny emails they get from people who get banned from Halo 2 and 3. Some were just sad, because if they were really how the person thinks, then I imagine that going through life is pretty difficult for them. I feel the same for some of these. It's amazing how sensitive of creatures we are.

  2. Re:What Are You Talking About? on Seinfeld-Windows TV Ad Anything But 'Delicious' · · Score: 1

I don't think Seinfeld is hurting for money either. His show got picked up again for another season of syndication and they are also doing the Seinfeld Campus Tour trying to get a younger generation to attach to the show.

I worked as a camera operator on the Campus Tour when it came through Jacksonville, FL and the marketing guy for Seinfeld said that it is the 3rd highest ranked show of any comedy show out there today, new or syndicated. That's pretty amazing for a show that has been off the air for a decade.

  8. Re:Double standards on The Gamer's Bill of Rights · · Score: 1

I'm guessing they mean updates as in maybe new gaming content, such as maps and weapons.

If not then number 2 is referring to games like Kane and Lynch, where it's a good game, but with a little more time the game would have been great, but they rushed it out. I loved Kane and Lynch, but there are parts in that game where you can almost see the developer said fuck it.

Then 3 would be referring to updates, like Gears of War, where they fixed one glitch, but it opened up new glitches.

  9. Lets Get Some Bill of Rights for Consoles on The Gamer's Bill of Rights · · Score: 1

Let's face it the game developers aren't the only ones who need to do a little changing. I would like to see console makers improve their shit as well. How about making consoles that don't have major issues, like the red ring, or the original Playstation having to be turned upside down in order to read the disc. Let's also not forget the classic NES, where blowing into a cartridge was the norm for trying to get a game to play. If that didn't work, then put the game in, but not all the way, the press down so that it kind of snaps.

Sure other industries have issues as well, but the level of fan dedication isn't the same as it is in the gaming market.

  10. Some Telecommuting Can Suck on Six Questions To Ask Before Telecommuting · · Score: 1

I worked at a Webdesign company that allowed it's copywriters to telecommute, if they wanted to, but it was paid based on production. So the copywriters would have to turn out a certain amount of pages in order for it to be considered an hours worth of pay.

Well those copywriters either quit or went back into work because each month the company would change the required production amount. Each month it got higher and higher to the point where they would work all day just to get 8 hours of pay.

We got streetview here in Jacksonville, FL, but sadly Google didn't come down my street. Instead they passed it by 1 block. Boo.

I don't see the issue also. What does it matter if people can look at a picture of your home taken at one small span in time. It's not like if you are getting undressed in front of an open window now people will see that on Google maps. We're talking about people being picky about a situation that isn't out of hand, and one that I doubt will ever get out of hand by Google. Is this really an issue to get worked up about.

Hemp and it's affiliates were the only subjects these guys knew and loved to educate everyone on and they even got so involved that they learned gardening just so they could grow it. I've probably told this story before, but here it goes again. I remember about 7 years ago there was a lot of consumer unrest here in north Florida. People were upset with Comcast and it was always on the news about how terrible the service was and how customer service was a joke.

Did comcast ever improve? They did about 4 years later after the news reported on it a bunch, but it was such a slow move to correct it because they weren't losing any customers. People hated the service, but didn't want to leave it. So comcast had no reason to correct the issues immediately. It was kind of disappointing to see. The best way to deal with these companies is to speak with your wallet.
