Meet my unbeatable entry, called the Bowling-Bo. Maybe not as good on manual labour as the Hitachi version but it only has a vocabulary of 100 words less and will pwn the stair challenge.
I do know stuff about a similiar project in Holland. The government wants to build a 15-25 billion euro offshore wind farm with a maximum power output of about 2GW, which is about 10% of our total output.
Of course the fact proponents fail to mention is that the maximum power output is only attained 16% of the time (on average). 8% of the time there is no output at all and in the meanwhile the output will be somewhere between 0 and 2GW.
There are some forms of green energy which are economically viable. Wind energy is not one of them.
The problem of the VVD is that they are thoroughly divided. One half is pretty conservative and I guess this is the half the parent poster was referring to. But there are also a lot of VVD MP's which are more progressive.
The movement to endorse gay marriage and euthanasia rights were both started by D66 - the only real liberal party in The Netherlands:)
If only it were that way in the Netherlands. Over here the unions are very powerful. When the government tried to cut in the pension plan because it will be waaaay to expensive when all baby boomers reach age 60 (almost there), they organised massive strikes.
The goverment was forced to reduce cuts and conesequently my pension will be when I'm 70. Supposedly, unions are all about solidarity but I guess it's a one-way street.
You assume that heavily penalizing the person responsible will actually prevent these errors. If this were true, your comment would have some merit. But I believe such a measure would actually be counter-effective. Since the person responsible quite likely did not *plan* this to go wrong, he did not actively deliberate the pro's and con's of such a failure. Therefore the only effect will be even more pressure, with an even larger chance of failure.
I am greatly annoyed in the spend happy folk that have no problem taxing me more since I have a higher gross... yet while they discuss their latest gadget, computer, game, car stereo, etc I am talking with my wife about the grocery coupons I got mailed and planning carefully our meals, spending, and clothes purchases and have nothing realistically left over to "play" with
Seriously, if you earn as much as you do, how can groceries be a real problem. $10K a year is a lot of money, even minus taxes.
Ahh, doesn't matter, La Palma is going to end life as we know it well before 2038!
That is such bull shit. There is exactly one study in which this mega tsunami is predicted. Researchers who have been studying Las Palmas landslides for more than 20 years dismiss the idea altogether.
You can... like... buy software?
Video 2000 also lost to VHS and Video 2000 tapes had a capacity of up to 8 hours!
There's really just one reason VHS won... pr0n.
WellIGuessIWasWrong:)
Obligatory?
Me fail english? That's unpossible!
(Yeah, I know, bad quote but a single word post does not pass the lameness filter so technically this is filler).

In this case it would be by far more appropriate to compare Energia to Linux and the Space Shuttle to Microsoft than the other way around.
So basically you'd want Google to produce a results.txt so you could manually copy-past the URLs in your browser?
No, ASK is GETTING PERMISSION.
Oh and TLFS means The Lameness Filter Sucks.
'A few hundred'?

Just one comment: the regime in Saudi Arabia isn't theocratic, it's secular. That's why bin Laden hates it so much.
No it's not. The Saudi regime respects the Shar'ia, the muslim law. Woman can actually get stoned for adultery.

Allow me to perform another classic: The obligatory +5 you don't even speak your goddamn own language post.
We have got to get more of those in Holland :)
You seem to forget that Bill Gates is the single largest contributor to charity in the world.
A lot of people get Star Wars, and they still don't like the new trilogy.
What's there to 'get' about Star Wars? I mean, I liked these movies but they weren't exactly deep and intriguing.
Yeah, I know, pot and kettle, but how is this childish rant 'interesting'.

Well, as far as I know there are no huge reserves of oil in Taiwan so I'm afraid they're royally screwed if they're invaded.

4) moving the mouse around in order to locate the cursor itself.
:P
I do that all the time and I do consider myself an experienced mouse user
You never hear of the ones that do learn and do stop in time.
Yes, it is heartening to see my money(tax dollars), run me out of business.
Frankly, if you can be run out of business by a state run corporation you really don't deserver to be in business at all.
