I would have to agree with the other person who replied to your thread. At various points while playing WoW, most of them level 60+ I found I kept playing for the social interaction and less because I REALLY wanted that epic gear.
This is like the difference between an AMD processor processing something just as fast at say, 1.8gig, as an intel 2.6gig.
Why? Because Intel will look for shortcuts to a goal. Yes, we have quad core processors, but not telling us the processors were not made for that purpose they will however most likely run faster. While AMD will make a processor for the specific purpose of it being quad core.
Sadly I missed those days, but I remember my dad running a BBS Business, unfortunately with the invention of the internet he closed it down and packed up, also unfortunate is the fact what little I remember of it.
I remember my dad kicking Fido and Fido flying to the moon.
People who don't care that much about what others think are in serious need of psychological help. If you can't be considerate enough to not make your friends go through listening to your crappy songs, you are in my book suffering the deepest kind of anarchist mentality that deserves disdain at every level. The type of person who spray paints walls because, hell you like spray painting walls, to hell with the rest of the world not liking it, to hell with the person who owns said wall having to spend money to have painted over.
Alright so in reality I don't truly care, but now you know how much of an alarmist you sound like. I agree with the rest of your post though.
Fiber is insanely faster, so much faster that questioning whether the network can handle it isn't a matter of the cables, it is your computer and the computer on the other end that is slowing you down.
Isn't our world just a collection of observations of our own actions, thus we can do what we want, and believe what we want?
Oh wait, Macroscopic world, doesn't work that way... Or does it?
The problem with buying the game first, is that you don't know seriously if the game is something you will enjoy. You hear about it, you played a demo, you watched a trailer, but all those fall short of the real thing, like the Sword of the Stars Demo, I plan on playing the real thing becuase I felt that the demo limited me, and didn't show me the full potential of the game.
I buy games I enjoyed playing. The two most recent purchases were Prey and Oblivion. The boxes sit unopened in my drawer, seeing as I have no need for the actual product, I just chose to support them with my money, becuase I enjoyed playing the game so much for a period of time.
Where the United World will colonize and try and control you. Then they try to tax, but you refuse the steep taxed. Then you rebel, and become a single world nation all our own. Really, people are selfish, and in a capitalistic society that will come out.
I think you fail to realize what a large percentage of the population is using a pirated copy of windows xp, if they bring this out, I will be forced to break out my old old old, copy of windows xp home and install it again.
Dude, don't rag on yourself too bad, you can always go back to school and finish up your CS degree.
Of course CS has very little to do with troubleshooting PC's but hey, your the technician.
I played Counter-strike for 2 years, and I mean hardcore played, 10 hours a day.
You can show your E-penis off in FPS, its just that much easier to get pwned, and you feel it. In WoW, its level over long period of time, it takes hardly any skill, all you have to do is hit keys in rhythm, use certain keys in different situations, I still play WoW, but I feel it misses a lot of player skill. This way the 12 year olds can strut and say they own when they are 60 and go around ganking 50s.
But seriously, the minute something as good as WoW comes out that is an FPS, and on a massive scale like Planetside, I am switching over.
Oh man, funny thing is I had a computer at one time that wouldn't load anything I need to install 98 back in the day, and it wouldn't let me install 3.1 either, so what I had to do is.
I had to install MS-Dos I cannot remember which version.
Then Windows 3.1.
Then Windows 98.
It really took a long time and was a total pain in the ass. >>
Considering that Ghost is going to be a first person shooter, then I am hoping and believe that the MMO version of Starcraft will likely be a first person shooter as well.
It would work out well like Planetside, where you can choose three different factions with different technology and differnt units. Then you fight it out with the other two in a war. Of course knowing Blizzard it would be a lot more detailed then that, they would probably also make some upper crust work, for people who are vets to negotiate with others and use diplomacy. I can see a Overmind and a Human meeting together somewhere, to attack a protoss base that has long been held. Then the leaders go to their troops and tell them not to attack the other team until the protoss have been eleminated. Of course this would have to break away from the kiddy atmosphere of WoW, so a different team should likely work on it.

Will this game require more player skill, or will it just be another minimum of player skill + hours of playing makes you a winner? ?
Scheff says. "People are using the Internet to destroy people they don't like, and you can't do that."
Yeah, that is what the court system is for so back off internet.

Couldn't they just carry multiple packs of batteries...

Simcity had them first!
That is a failed analogy.
Mostly becuase chainlink fences do not show a discernable gravity force on dust clouds...
Neither did the Dark Matter feel compelled to be effected by gravity...
Kids still want presents on Christmas!
On the other hands the parents are probably doing a lot better with the budget, than NASA is.

Possibly a tongue in cheek comment?

We are due for a deadly infectious disease that will wipe out a good portion of our civilization.
Cite, The Coming Plague, Hot Zone... And a couple other books I cannot remember currently.
