FMV-centric I think it was a step up from just watching your character sprites in earlier versions just run around out of your control (FF3 comes to mind). At least with the FMV's we got a nice break. I do admit though that wading through 3 to 10 minutes scenes just before a major boss battle (FFX comes to mind) a few times can get tedious, but that always gave me time to make a sandwich.

I seem to remember a story about Microsoft inviting some Linux guys to Redmond for an open source get together and then being jerks and hosting it with a foldout table and lemonade in a parking garage.
Anyone care to confirm this story and/or post a link - If I'm wrong or remembering incorrectly, somebody set me straight(I can't find the actual story)
The moral of this story is that a few years ago Microsoft didn't think open source was worth worrying about and now they are on the wagon...

With music though, I think there is a point well below 64GB where "enough is enough". My entire music library on my computer *MIGHT* reach 12GB tops; it's probably closer to 8GB, and that's with 2000-3000 songs. Now I realize that many people have collections that dwarf that in size, but honestly, do you really need to tote around your ENTIRE collection in your pocket? Just seems like a 2GB flash card holding a couple hundred songs that you feel like listening to at the time would be just fine.\ I think you are forgetting about the lazy factor.I bought the biggest Ipod i could get and dumped a pile of tracks onto my it so I don't have to manage it all the time. I left a few gigs free for new stuff I may get or for the " I can't believe if forgot to put that on there". I put enough stuff of different genres to keep me sated for a good long time. I don't want my ipod to become work, it's an expensive toy and nothing more.

Playing guitar is entirely different than playing guitar hero. Guitar hero is rhythm based, and has nothing in common with real guitar playing other than the rough shape of the instrument. Comparing guitar hero to actually playing is like (insert OMG bad car analogy about hot grits on nat portman with a pony overlord named c.neil in soviet russia)
That would be why drummers do better... all they have to do is hit something...
