  1. Re:Piracy = Freedom on How to Turn A Music Lover to Piracy · · Score: 4, Funny

Piracy allows me to have questionable taste in music ;)

  2. Re:iPod on E8 Structure Decoded · · Score: 1

Find one kid born after 1990 or so that can tell you how much space 200 records takes up. Or how much you can store (in data) on a cassette tape. Dang - I was born in the 70's and I can't tell you that...
  3. Re:Screw you Valve on Valve To Support DX10 With Episode 2 · · Score: 1, Troll

Maybe Micro$oft got to them and brainwashed them into adding support for Vista...

  4. No doubt about it... on Hardcore Gamers on the Decline? · · Score: 1

I'm over 30, and I can definitely feel the decline... eyes going, body getting heavier, reflexes not what they used to be ;)

  9. Re:BLu-ray on No Ceasefire in DVD Format Battle · · Score: 1

..Blu-Ray as I'm quite certain you well know is spec'd to handle up to 100GB
With that kind of storage they will be able to get entire seasons of tv shows on one or two blu-ray disks... you could get all 6 starwars films on one disk -
could this be the start of a new trend? get an entire series of movies on one disk? I wouldn't mind having all my star trek movies on 2 or 3 dvd's - I'm pretty sure they won't try to upconvert them (but you never can tell what stupid will do)

And what is with the 90 day warranties? As I understand it this is becoming industry standard for consoles.
It's a conspiracy man! The sales corporation own the console makers.
But seriously - How much does Best Buy and Circuit City and the myriad other sellers make on extended warranties? I have bought a few in the past and never used them. It's like I gave Best Buy free money.

The d-pad is still super handy, especially for games like Tony Hawk American Wasteland. I use the d-pad for some direction specific tricks and quick directional taps when the analog stick just won't do.

  21. Jack Thompson on Suit Blames Videogames for Homicides · · Score: 1

We need /. to get Jack Thompson to agree to a /. questioning. I want to know why he even bothers... all he seems to be doing is making a worse name for himself every time he shows up. I kinda wonder what he has to say in his defence of these seemingly foolish lawsuits.

  22. Shakin' in my boots... on Brave New Ballot · · Score: 1

"the facts can be less important than the weight of public opinion"

That may be the scariest thing I've ever heard.

  23. Zune? on Microsoft leaks Zune Details in FCC filing · · Score: 1

An Ipod killer it will not be, the Ipod is in the trenches, it's like the popcorn husk that gets stuck between your teeth... No matter what cool features they shove into this thing it won't be able to undo or even appreicably dent the Ipod market (look at creative)(also, is fashionable and a sign of status to have those white ear buds hanging out of your ears)... also, Zune = virus central (it's an M$ product after all, people just can't seem to help themselves) and making the thing wireless and whatever else they thing is a good idea just makes it all the easier - the zuner it comes the zuner it will go...
