This is why Seoul is a public transit lover's dream. they have over 200 stations in the system and one of the lines extends 70KM from the city limits, it takes 3.5 hours from one end to the other, one way. You can walk between most stations in about 15-20 minutes which means 90% of the places you want to go are no more than a 5-10 minutes walk from the subway station. They're frequent and cheap. Starting price for a trip, with exchange is something like 70 cents USD.
Unfortunately not every city can afford a system like this, but every city of any real size needs it.
oh please. You-tube hasn't been "you"-tube for a long time. Half the content is clips of shows, full movies uploaded in 9000 parts for the 3 people on the planet who can't figure out torrents, and porn ads that you-tube won't take down.
When there's a significant amount of piracy it means you are not only subsidising the pirates but have to charge your actual game-buying customers more (or pay developers less) to try and recoup that money.
Apparently you're new to this planet. They'll do both. They'll raise the hardware cost to sell it at a profit AND they'll raise the game price to make up for the piracy.
Wow..that's lame. My LGSH-150A can even multitask. If I'm typing a text message and need my korean/english dictionary I can hit a button that brings up on overlay interface and run one of several applications. Its handy because it lets me check my text messages if I'm playing a game as well without shutting the game down. The built in games can be paused/interrupted by a text message but downloaded ones cannot, so the multitask is useful for that.
The problem with any bus/rail system is that it needs to be cheaper than an airplane. The rail system is all but dead in Canada. The bus system is useful for going to small out of the way cities, but if you're traveling from large city to large city, you aren't saving money on the bus and its taking you hours and days longer to get there. Appropriate pricing on the trips is what will make this a success. Price too high, no one will use it and it'll fail.
Thanks for labeling your post ahead of time, next time though make sure you get it right. The red ring issue is a serious enough problem that stories on it are pretty much everywhere. Your anecdotal "evidence" doesn't trump that.
NPC Missions are kinda wank depth wise, but CCP is constantly adding new ones
this is where you come off sounding like a fanboy. If they are constantly adding them, which means they have an established pattern of consistently adding new content with such a frequency that it could be described as "constant". yet, you admit its still currently crap. What's that tell you about how good of a job they're doing keeping that up?
Good luck with that. Try selling the cars of the people who park in your spot and you'll end up on charges of auto theft. Pointing at your "clearly marked sign" isn't going get you very far.
Why? If I go to your house and decide to impound the car in your driveway, am I stealing it? The only reason people get to tow vehicles is because of that clearly marked sign. if it can make some kind of legal agreement, then why not say the car will be sold?
Greed is not the problem here, stupidity is. If greed were the problem, they would have an extremely optimized pricing plan which crack analysts would put thousands of man hours into. They're too lazy/stupid/cheap to do that and thus they stick with the pricing model they've always had.
this is a kdawson story and on slashdot no one ever rtfa. With that in mind has anyone tried clicking the links? they could be to www.picklefarm.com and he could just be making this all up.
even back in 1997, was apparently the thing to do for overseas students. I remember being perplexed as to why the lab was so slow when I had heard there were dual oc3 pipes coming into the place. I was sitting at the back so I had a quick look around and I noticed 99% of the computers were taken up by an asian student all independently streaming the same TV show.. I don't know what the quality rate was, because it appeared to be a asian drama/movie, but whatever it was times about 50 machines would be enough to choke most connections. Especially since this was one of on about half a dozen labs.
It certainly wasn't collaborative or someone would have gotten them some headphone splitters..
It wasn't even that the governor realized that he should probably not allow a bill sponsored by a nutcase to pass into law.
Apparently you can read minds. Does your power work on women? If so, I think we can market that..
If I'm going to veto a bill because I think the guy who wrote it is a nut job, I'm not going to come out and say that. Its not tactful. He could have decided to veto it because his wife made him waffles, but again we're not going to hear that.
it happens with any company that is multinational, regardless of location. Its difficult to do any serious business in some countries unless you speak the language. The company I worked at in Canada was at least 50% visible minorities including: chinese, japanese, thai, african, native-canadian (or whatever the term du jour is), south american (I think mostly brazil), mexican, middle-eastern, indian, pakistani, etc our parent company was from spain so at least 40% of the office spoke spanish. The sales and customer training departments were from all over the globe. We're all special snowflakes
depending on the game yes.
However in most games weaker and stronger players do certain things better.
In chess a stronger players thinks further ahead. Weaker ones usually can't see much further past the next move or maybe one more.
If you play a lot of chess against a lot of different people you will find that they actually do make similar kinds of mistakes and that is what the AI needs to simulate. Someone making those kinds of mistakes. The trick to making the AI believable is that it doesn't always make the same kind of mistake in the same situation. Perhaps even sometimes it doesn't make a mistake in that situation. Low level players often seem random in their strategy.
In RTS games strong players have optimized and tweaked build orders. Weaker players do not.
That doesn't work. Even carrying a barrel which is bigger than a jar the turrets will open fire. A barrel is big enough to hide behind and if there is just one turret you can get to it without taking any damage if you're lucky.
Couldn't he have tossed it, had a nap and then caught it?

you're right, it was crazy of me to think a mac user would ever brag about their platform...
Does your sense of righteousness and superiority take up?
this is absolutely going to blow your mind but my 2.5 year old Dell laptop running XP has an integrated bluetooth module.
Wow..that's lame.

What's that have to do with microtransactions?
Microtransactions games don't delete characters for inactivity.
its extremely popular in the under 12 and 40-45 male demographics.
They have some minor penetration into the 70-80 demographic as well.

They very well may if they have any kind of contract with the publisher of the book regarding its promotion or expected visibility.
Not everyone is american and the contest isn't just limited to America.
If anyone in Canada wins they don't have to pay jack. Canada doesn't tax income from prizes.
