nope they look like a bad bryce3d rendering. i was expecting to look up from the ground and see definition in the rings.. texture.. alien casinos or something. That pic of the island in the lakes of Titan was better.
For myself the only thing that warrants a move to Vista is DX10 of course. -but with all the nonsense surrounding vista, it seems that microshaft would bite the bullet & release dx10 for XP. -or suffer more loss. Otherwise i think even the nubs will be switching to mac or even linux if things stay as they are.
i think at this point everybody here agrees vista is a pain ATM..
gimp? not even in the same universe as PS when it comes to really doing work. But as you said... over the web? thats just absurd... it must be marketed towards the users that are making greeting cards or something.
:)
On my first real day of employment with CompUSA many years ago, in a far away land.. our "team leader" had us all gather at the front of the new store. We were told, when somebody says, "what day is it?" we were to then repeat "every days a great day at comp usa, WhooOP there it is!"
needless to say i would not partake in such annoying behavior and was singled out, brought to the front of the crowd and told to say the phrase with all the cheer of some HR fool. I went to the front, waved goodbye, turned and left. The store has remained a joke to me ever since.
morons selling warranties sums it up.
-and thats my story
i pay about as much attention to DRM as the fart i cast last tuesday. the consumer has got to be smoking crack to buy anything with DRM on it.. It (DRM) is clearly anti-consumer right from the start, you just cant support products like that..
bah.. what do u do when you cant fix some issue with a pc.. you tear it down and rebuild it from scratch (sometimes)
This country is getting to be the same way. We are wrapped up in so much nonsense that nothing gets done correctly.. It's pathetic that rapists do less time than some burnout hippy caught with some Urbs. Or in this case somebody busted with ONE COUNT of copyright infringement. The greed is out of control & needs to be reined in. *blech
reficere.. circuitionis.. reficio..
Did you all really want Vista to come out and be ultra secure & perfect? That is just not Windows.. Without all the issues that are inherent with a MS OS... the world would be a more..boring place.
I for one welcome are new bloated, insecure OS overlords.. as it will provide a source of humor and bashing for the next couple years.
-As well as give Linux more time to get up to speed with games. -perhaps this is where Linux will never change?
that about sums it up. I want my OS to do whatever i want it to and more. I have a free copy coming for a laptop i just bought.. but will i actually use it? Not with this type of bullshit on board. And what if i want to use it on my desktop instead? Is microshaft going to fuck with my shit if they smell something they deam funny?
Lets get some phreakin directX on linux please so we can ditch MS.
Webmaster? i think i used that term like 10 years ago. When somebody asks for a site, I say that i can have it up in a couple hours. (minus DNS changes, or extra flashy graphics) I have not coded a site from scratch since Y2k.. The only thing i need to think about is, what modules does the client need? That will help me make a choice on which CMS i use.

911 calls in NYC will activate the camera on mobile phones so people can send video of the emergency as it happens.
CNN usually gets images or video from peoples phones within minutes of the incident happening. The 911 people down in NYC just want the same data feed for emergencys..
If it were only a laser device, it would be easy to protect with reflective armor/covering. I wonder if tempest monitoring of a satellite is possible with laser like that.
Pwn0r T0olbar v2 is coming out soon -just wait for it
I cleaned a box recently.. with a tape measure the internewb's IE bars measured 5" vertical. I should have got a screen shot for the most Pwn3d browser award..
Yeah ok... try to fix a common bottleneck. I'm with ya on that.. But i would prefer more effort into solid state disks not something that spins fast enough to eject from my box & into orbit.
3d Printers are an awesome tool for designing... Usually you use them to create models instead of the product. Watching them work is insane. These days they print in color.. Think of the movie 5th element... when the machine sprays the chick together...
Recently i got to work with an architect who designed & built a house in Australia using a industrial laser cutter to produce all the components for the house. This is a very cool looking building that could only be output from a computer. This machine sounds like it can do the same on a mass scale with materials besides wood.. Using hand tools to create this type of architecture is arcane at best. I hope to see some decent product from this technology not just cheap looking pre-fab buildings.
this link is a 3d printer company. Check it out if the technology interests you
Autodesk - a great software company with good products. With the 2007 release they went the wrong way with the file format.(again) Not only is it not backwards compatible, but working out of office is tough if the office does not have 2007. They can not open a 07, trying to copy things from my downsaved 2004 dwg will crash them with AEC object errors. Sure there is a patch for the non 2007 many flavors of autodesk software.
All in all the 2007.dwg has less gains until they clean up the issues all around it..
Open sourcing the format would be nice. d
Rhino is a perfect example of AutoCAD not reading it's dwg output correctly.
good jokes all../clap clap
Nonsense aside, where is my power glove for PC? I should be able to navigate 3d environments by moving both my hands, one for motion the other for grabbing/moving data/files. Go download Tactile3d and play with it for a minute to better understand the concept. then imagine a device similar to the Wii's for navigation. It would make such systems faster to navigate & therefore useful! I think it's absurd that a console should have something my PC does not.
Glad to see other people are thinking along the same lines...
side note: i bet the power glove is reintroduced on the Wii..
What firewall does that? After sygate got discontinued i switched to zonealarm on my windows machines.
yes the money should be spend on finding out the effects on sending snakes on a shuttle instead.
nope they look like a bad bryce3d rendering. i was expecting to look up from the ground and see definition in the rings.. texture.. alien casinos or something. That pic of the island in the lakes of Titan was better.
bah... im sitting here with stomach ache & u make me look at that~!
is this a joke or something? lets see if this gets modd'd insightful

parts of this planet are even more worthless than the lifeless Mars. Leave the stragglers behind..
keep pushing forward. -they don't call it the human race for nothing

It is amazing.. this world will go down the tubes because people will need to make money off fossil fuels till were all dead.
It's a human issue & will not be resolved by being able to download DRM free mp3s..
Let the lord of chaos rule eh?
amen sister! and of course.. it is our country once again getting up in other peoples shit for greedy US companies.
what really is money or expense that it should stand in the way. Its all irrelevant
