    Well, my point is that there is a greater "need" to inspect traffic at 50Tbps rather than move 322Tbps. Somewhat like how the Airbus A380 was advertised as being big enough for a basketball court, but the airlines decided that space was better suited to stick people in like cattle.

    Actually, the question on my mind is if this device is really going to be used to just route bits at layer 3, or if such massive hardware is going to sell more as a very fast deep packet inspection layer 7 device. I think there are ISPs like AT&T that would love to go deeper...in every way.

    The one the USA passed recently isn't socialism, it's mostly pork. Socialism would imply that there was an attempt to actually help the population. That said, working on power and broadband infrastructure would be great uses for the money, but very little was actually directed there.

    I agree with you, but I can't block HOAs completely from my current house search. I want to find a place where I can bicycle from work or my kids school, and it is 99.9% HOA land between them. I have to compromise and find ones with the least restrictions and costs.

    I think the people that can discover a security bug like this can take a guess at how long it will take Microsoft to fix. It is totally the moral middle ground to say to Microsoft: "Here is the bug in your software I found. I will publicly release the details of this in (days assumed to fix)+30 days so that people can protect themselves. Please publish your patch before this date. Thank you."

    It would be better to enact your proposed restrictions when a politician was accused of not handling in the voter's best interest by any citizen three times.

    Sounds great! We'll need to ask all of the citizens if their interests have been taken care of well or not. Since what I consider taking care of me might be the opposite of what taken care of is for you, we'll need to go by majority. Also, since we can't spend the time and money to ask every day, how about ever 2-4 years we get together and vote on how well our politicians are doing? I wish there was a political system that did that!

    No, just the time zones. The meridian is arbitrary, and the time zones are based off the meridian.

    I wasn't saying he was unbiased, I was saying that there is much more depth to the reporting. All reporting has bias to some extent. However, I never took the time to see that you could still get the show free online, thanks for the link!

    But that is my point, the best one I found was on HD Net, and I stopped paying $15/mo for that (NOT free). PBS might have something as good, I just have not seen it.

    Glenn Beck and Rachel Maddow, and you're calling that unique investigative journalism? I'm not taking sides, but both of those people are in the entertainment business, not investigative journalism. The closest thing I've found for true journalism (on TV) anymore is "Dan Rather Reports" on HD Net.

    Well, we aren't exactly allowed to have any weapons that would be effective at fighting the US military so its not like we can exactly revolt.

    Have you been learning anything about the current wars in Iraq or Afghanistan? The people fighting the USA don't exactly have F-16's and tanks, but they've outlasted the armies of the Axis in WWII.

    I would agree if it was more of what was in Bioshock 1. However, the team that did the first one went out of their way to point out that they were NOT AT ALL involved with this one. That makes me think there are some pretty big differences, and I doubt they are for the better. Still, I'll try it at a friend's house (that has no kids and can buy games on a whim) and see if I like it.

    No, voice dial is a new feature in the 3G S iPhone, it is not available even with software update on the 3G.

    Because the label gave them $100k up front. The band may have earned $500k in a few years, but that was an IF and in the future. However, the label can pay 10 bands $100k, lose the money on 5 of them completely, make back a little with 4 of them, and then earn millions on that 1. However, 9 of those 10 bands won't get any more than their $100k back.

    Humans flying is unnatural. People know this, and fear flying already. Making it more scary isn't hard. People wait in lines all of the time, a bomb in the line won't make lines nearly as scary as flying.
