Yeah, I hope these things GPS trackers are cheap - I'll provide local towns service putting GPS on all the police cars and charging for detection. Talk about new markets! Track your girlfriend, track your husband, track your boss! This is GREAT!
If I won, first thing I would do right off the bat would be to uninstall Norton from the laptop. It's second nature to immediately uninstall Norton or McAfee after working as an IT guy for all these years.
I'm a body builder so I hate alcohol (inhibits muscle growth). A nice toke of some green every day keeps me stress free and happy:)
And it's not bad for my body at all.
"The ultimate result could be lower crime rates,
at a reduced cost, and with considerably less inhumanity in the
bargain."
The less humanity, the less likely our government will want to do it. They like being draconian and keeping people fearful of horrible prison. I'd much rather have this GPS system, but knowing how the government stands on many issues such as marijuana, I can't see them actually doing something humane like this for convicts.
Don't punish the speeders! It's not speeders that are the problem, it's people not looking before they go. So many times people just assume the roads are safe and they go without looking both ways. If anything, people going too slow are more of a problem as they block traffic and cause jams.
Also, the roads over in the middle east are horrible! Way too thin!
"Besides Wi-Fi signals, could there possibly be any other logical explanation for kids having more symptoms of illness on school days than at home on weekends or in the summer?"
How about laced weed?
This is by far the dumbest article I have ever read. A bunch of middle school kids who can't do math - what do you expect when you give them calculators and Google to do all their thinking for them? When they have to think for themselves, they won't be able to.
Just another horrible side effect of technology.
Either Steven Hawkings has lost his faith in humanity, or he forgot this MUCH simpler alternative:
cap the population, come up with a clean energy source and learn to eat healthy.
If we can't do those 3 basic things, then moving to space is a child's fantasy.
If they had to work for it, and looked at developing it as a challenge, instead of an annoyance, maybe they would value and respect the net for what it really is, rather than just using it for chatting with friends.
They were just given this incredible power, with no real understanding of how hard it was to create. It's like giving a 2 year a gun - they will probably either end up dead, or bored after a few minutes simply because they don't (or can't) have that in-depth understanding of what it is and how to use it. Maybe after it goes off once or twice, they will be too afraid to play with it anymore and will dismiss it. These n00bs were born after all the hardcore COBAL/C/C++ coding, and couldn't care less what languages are used, as long as it has a pretty GUI. There are so many levels of complexity that it's too much for someone born nowadays to try and understand all of it, so they just go with what they can - chatting, email and facebook.
Maybe I'm wrong, or maybe we've created a monster maze of complexity that we will never be able to get out of.
It's a horrible game anyways, I played the 5 minute demo and was already bored out of my mind. People are pirating it and probably playing about 10 minutes then deleting it - no lost sales, they probably would have gotten further in the demo.
AOL has been dead in my book (and pretty much everyone else's) since around 2000 when we got cable internet.
Wouldn't be surprised if they had some Enron kinda shit going, as there's no way they could have survived this long legit.
Oh that's right, they are also "Time Warner Cable", I forgot they had to mask their name so people might actually buy their service. Pretty funny how much of a negative reputation they had.
Windows 7 sucks compared to Vista. It usually takes MS0ft a good 2-3 years to fix their OS until it's ready for use.
Sure, Win7 is great for opening Word docs and checking email, but when you try and run games or do more advanced tasks, it craps out, where Vista seems to do fine.
Certain laws should not be in place. I agree that people should report violent crimes, but there are many laws that violate one's natural freedom, such as the prohibition of marijuana. If my neighbors reported me for that, it would be very unfair and you have to remember that freedom is more important than anything else. People getting locked up and killed for consuming a natural plant is just draconian.
Seems to me you're the one lying to yourself. Go read the DOT study on marijuana and driving. They concluded that on a very high dosage of marijuana, it only compares to about a.05 alochol BAC, which is UNDER the legal limit. You've obviously never tried it before, or are a n00b, because it does not impair motor skills at all - in fact, it makes me much better at video games (much faster reaction when I'm high).
So we fight one type of contamination with another? Doesn't that mean it will be TWICE as worse than if we just ignored the initial problem!

what are they going to demand next? Probably a DNA database followed by a genital recognition database (they may need a microscope for that one)

how sad they had to shoot him, he could have been our next president

what the fuck are you talking about
This is a perfect metaphor for what's happening to the United States.

This goes right along with his "I will stop spam!" claim back in the 90's.

Just goes to show you, no matter how fancy and nice your job title is, most people still don't know what the hell they're doing.

The PC gamers that didn't have to pay for any of the games!
Knowing how draconian and unfair our government is, I wouldn't be surprised if this happened. However, I pray that it doesn't.
