I had hard times to get this IE9 beta installed as I did not have all updates installed what it demanded. And the download page what offered all three updates what I needed, one was Windows6.0-KB971512-x86. For windows 7 what use NT 6.1 operating system, the update is wrong as it is for NT 6.0 operating system. I needed to search longer to find out the update what was missing and it was a Windows6.1-KB2028551-v2-x86. So the update list what IE9 beta offers has wrong link.
But I must say that the IE now looks much better. By default the statusbar is hidden and the back/forward buttons are easier to use when they follow the Mozilla style. And possibility to resize the addressbar | Tabs position is good as well.
And now when Microsoft toke as well the quicklist of most used sites, what Opera offered, then Apple toke it to Safari, IE9 actually feels good by default.
If Microsoft would have done all this 5 years ago, all competitors would have been in deep ****
Do you know how many different colors human eye can actually see and how many shades of the gray? They are very limited amoints. The only difference is that human eye can change the amount of passing lights in realtime (with small delay actually from bright to dark) as we have a aperture and small sharp focusing area.
But they still do have the syncing problem when using a D-SLR's. Even that 5DMKII can shoot HD video, it can not be used for real 3D work neither. The cameras do not have perfect sync for frames. The framerate is choppy. Very short videos can be taken but longer ones bring lots of problem in the postprocess. As the framerate can change while recording from 29,97 to 29,98 and so on. That is not so bad thing for HDR but it still exist, and for 3D that would cause lots of problems as both eyes notices the out-of-sync problem and it just is terrible to watch.
But the Googles Wave was there to fix that problem.... oh wait... it did not work either for big group of the people as everyone was fixing each others work.
Most open sounds littlebit as understatement. As the Linux kernel (OS in the Android) is still licensed as GPLv2. And if the second floor even limits/controls the amount of the water, electricity and heat what is available for floors top of it (virtual machines, libraries, software platforms), it is not definetely open apartment building, no matter how open the first floor (OS) is and how fancy commercicals and marketing you have from that building, it is not open.
B) No e-mail lock-in, Gmail supports forwarding and also standardized access via POP
GMail supports as well IMAP. But you are right, if user just gets POP/IMAP connection, it can download all emails away from Google.
C) No phone lock-in, Android is by far the most open of the popular Smartphone OSes beating both Windows Mobile and iOS.

And locked by the way that you can not run ELF binaries or programs with X11 demands but just use the Dalvik and its offerings. In the android the direct access to Linux OS is denied, unless you root the Android.
It is just funny how people say iOS is closed source operating system while the OS in iOS is free software. You can get source code and modify it. You just need Apple's developmen tools to compile it so Apple's closed source components can be ran by it. And that demands you use Darwin (what is XNU + Development tools = development platform, like what GNU/Linux is) so you get it work there. But Apple's devices are still very accurate what they run. But still the iOS is very open, everyone can develop the software for it. They just need to understand what they can. Apple is not different from the Microsoft about that. Microsoft would not allow either anyone to rip off the NT operating system from Windows 7 to be used as OS in other software systems (their license does not even allow it, neither we have access to source code like with XNU or Linux or even HURD). Would Microsoft allow people to develop competive technology for technologies what exist in Windows 7 and sell them to the OEM's so they could replace them? Like replace Explorer.exe (Windows Shell) with some other product? No... Microsoft would not allow such thing.
Linux might not have rised to the desktops or laptos, but it has conquered supercomputers, embedded systems, servers and now it is rising in smartphone markets. Apple has done as well wisely to use just one OS for iOS and Mac OS X. Easier to maintain and develop different products. Being good at something so people use your site is not a monopoly, it is competition.

Google can be a monopoly in many market areas. As it is enough you are the only one offering specific services. But as we know, if you just have connection to Internet and there is at least one other search engine provider, google can not be a monopoly, just in a dominant market position. And it is not wrong to have such position, only if you abuse it. It is just sad that people usually mistakes monopoly to the dominant market position.
But trains were moving still in the rails and there are still co-driver and not just one. Indy 500 or F-1's are sport what is already a grazy thing to do. Drivers loose their lives or gets very serious injuries almost every year. And still no one from them is allowed to drive a car with 200 people putted in. They are not even allowed to drive a car after the race (F1) because they have the speed blindness when they enter to normal speedway.
Ships are still much bigger ones and move much slower rate. They can not flip around so easily as plane. And ship still have very easy to use controls so any sailor can stop the ship. Same thing can not be said for normal smaller boats where is just a captain who controls directly the ship and sailors are just around working other things. Such smaller passenger boats (50+ seats) crash almost every day somewhere around the world causing injuries.
The airplane is a complex machine what will have hundreds of people inside of it. The plane can flip around by anyway wanted. There can come anykind other problems what computers can not even notice. Computers does not have a instinct to react or have a gut feeling that something is not right with the controls. There have veen very many situations where the pilot with the help of the co-pilot has saved the whole plane by making crash landing or emergency landing to areas with less population as possible and still save the people.
Automatic systems works only well in theory and tests when everything is set correctly. We still dont have a cars what would have full automatic pilot. We still do not even have a subways with full automatic controls.
Computers are good in many things, but we still do not have a AI what would win the experience and the senses what human does have. Like we can have a car braking system what can help driver to brake more faster. Give warnings from the safety range to another car or even telling a driver that the drive is frozen when it is not visible (black ice). But none of these actually compensate the driver itself.
And when comparing a Indy 500 to a airplane, it is like comparing a toy train to real train. Indy 500 track is oval. It is not so hard actually drive there. You do not have many corners or need to brake and accelerate. Your audience is even away from the corners and placed to safety places. Check out the Rally. That is something what you could think that would you say it is safe to take the map reader off from the car and leave only the driver? That would be madness as driver does not know what kinda corner there is coming next and how he/she should drive to it. And even then, how good drivers and map readers they do have, cars brakes down and rolls around many times and audience is ordered to stay inside of the corners so if the car gets out of the drivers control, they are not getting under it.
If we could even get 99,999% security for computer driven cars to city environments we still would be far away from other roads. And airplane is totally different thing.
I can shoot as well with both eyes, by both sides. No matter do I keep a rifle or pistol in my left or right hand/shoulder. I sometimes even aim by crossing the sight line. Few persons only can aim correctly without aiming by other eye only. Both my eyes are as well dominant. I can choose which one I use as primary. As a special jäger and a sniper I had lots of benefit from that in the army. All the close quarter movements inside buildings were easier as I had no problems to use weapons in both sides. Same thing was with forrest in quickshootings where I could easily take the best position on cover, without caring on which side the cover was. With two pistols it was very easy to aim trough both iron sights. And if you need to shoot different sides, it is even easier when you do not need to rotate head but just watch that side iron.
But there is as well bad sides from it. When waking up or very tired (3 days a row) I can loose the control and I can see two images both times. It actually takes a second to close eyes and open again first the other to gain back the control. It is not good feeling when both eyes are trying to find point of the focus in different distance.
Thats why I as well like FPS games where you can switch the side from which side you look (if from behind). And I hate when you can not switch the side depending the situation or when you can not lean. It really breaks the illusion what is there (they are games after all).
Last time was about two weeks ago when I was playing Serious Sam - First Encounter HD. It has same possibilities than the earlier engine, to turn all colors off. Same thing was with a Far Cry that you could tweak colors. Altough I am not sure could you dim them to gray.
Bathrooms close to the control room. So if a person needs to go there, is is just next door. Best if it is build to same space (with walls and door so noises etc does not come out) so the time to be there is limited.
Then have something relaxing in the room. Lighting should change and there could be more like a "Zen garden" environment as well. TV's and other entertaiment systems are just bad as you know what happens when there comes sport or other stupid (sport is not stupid but you get the point) entertaiment what takes time. Then people is watching TV and not the screens.
And if there are monitors for security cameras, have a light next to them what blinks when they notice movement. This especially for camera monitors what dont usually have motion.
It is not the end-users technology what is the problem, it is the production problems.
You need camera rigs (two cameras, mirrors etc) and not just a videographer (/cinematographers= handling them but you need stereographist as well to calculate everything what gets shooted. Videographer needs to understand at least the basics of the 3D technology and how the 3D image gets calculated so he can choose the viewpoints and camera movements. Then director needs to understand as well the basics so he/she can direct actors to not overact or do moves what does not look good. And instead just videographer and director acting together (director controls actors, videographer the visual element how you actually see all) there is third person (the stereographer) who gives all the possibilities and limits to both of these persons.
It takes 3 times longer to shoot even a basic 3D video than what it would be when making just with one camera. And every time you move the position, distance, aperture, lenses etc. Stereographer needs to calculate everything again. It is very slow process and time consuming.
I have been few times working with company (responsible for the 3D for moomins and the comet chase 2010) when there has been maded a few different 3D demos and commercicals. And it really is very slow when compared to typical 2D production. And it really comes even more difficult if you start shooting more extreme situations (weather, nature etc) as the actors as well need to wait longer. You need subjects as well to front of the camera when they are calculating the 3D. And usually the actors are needed for that with director so all that can be done. So if the video is shooted in cold environments or other more harder places, everyone starts getting to edge very easily.
The LCD televisions problem was not caused the the content but the LCD technology itself. Video was blurry and so on as the screens were too slow. Images could be overburned or colors were washed away as contrast was too small. But you could make the content easily as all the content was already over the resolution as they were shot with film or digitalized with higher resolution. 3D just brings too many new factors to production and directors need to learn that how to use it as well for movies. You can not just place a person to front of camera as it looks very dull, there is no enough deepness.
3D has been coming now over 50 years for movies and videos. For photos it has been used over 100 years. Still no luck.
In the end, for the human the 2D is still best and natural. In our view only few prosents is sharp, everything else blurry until we focus to thing. We do not notice 3D unless we move so we can notice well the 3D. The lighting is the key what makes the "3D" effect for us and when we have pair of eyes we can calculate distances easily.
And when making movies, you want that audience looks to specific points. The camera movement and focus is what gets you to look to wanted things. If cinematographer is good, you will enjoy movie. As he/she is the key to get a story look good, while director is responsible to tell the story as wanted.
Ubuntu sparkling has vanished. First Windows users heard about Ubuntu first when they were testing other OS's than just what Microsoft offered and the best choise was Linux as it was free (speech and beer) and they found Ubuntu first when they searched distributions.
Then they started to keep noise in Internet about how awesome "OS" the Ubuntu was. Media got attention and soon Ubuntu was the only one what was "special".
Now most people should know that Ubuntu has no more special features than what other mainstream distributions does. Users have already started to abandon Ubuntu and search other distributions. This can be noticed by following Ubuntu forums where 2/3 has a another distribution in use than Ubuntu (or any edition from it). And now media has started to notice that Ubuntu is not a OS but just a distribution of the Linux OS. So it is not so wonderfull thing anymore.
Still, there is big enough fanbase to maintain the illusion for new comers that Ubuntu is a different OS than Linux and special by some magical way.
But the fact is that RDF what Ubuntu community developed has gone. Same thing can be noticed from the Apple that RDF is not so great anymore. Just by watching the keynotes etc where audience does not react so wonderfull way anymore.
There is very logical reason. Canonical and Ubuntu community made exactly the same mistake what Apple did. First they said how X is great. How X is best. Then they started to use more stronger adjectives. So the magicall, fantastic and "one more thing" has just lost their meaning. The result just is that you have a "super mega jet turbo engine" but it is no different than what competitor has.
Ubuntu newbies who did not know anything about different Linux distributions have found the truth. They have started to see the technology how it is same in all as Canonical just use what upstream offer, as any other downstream.
Ubuntu X.x release does not get people anymore. The 6 months and LTS releases are old idea what many have used before Canonical. The "fancy" nicknaming the releases is as well gone down.
GNOME and other upstream projects have got their software to that state that they fill most demands what new users needs. No one care anymore about new fancy theme and wallpaper. New versions of the software is just something what is "okay, I update in next year".
The magic has vanished around Ubuntu and moved to other distributions. So has happened earlier and so will happend in the future. There is no one distribution what can maintain the hype longer than few years. That is exactly how long Ubuntu have had the hype, since 7.04 the hype started and now 10.4 it has almost gone.
It is as well good that Canonical could not do bigger damage to the OSS. As lying the them being the innovative and the driven force. Well, their lies were noticed and most people have started to turn around when they see Ubuntu. Many even gets angry when they notice how few Ubuntu fanatics goes around wikipedia adding Ubuntu screenshots for articles what has nothing to do with Ubuntu but the software what Ubuntu use as well as any other distribution.
Bit a bit. Mark was the leader of the Canonical. But not a leader of the Linux desktops or OSS. Not even how much Ubuntu fans would think so. The upstream works and innovated without Mark. It is same thing as you would drop off from using Ubuntu. No one notices it. But Canonical would notice it.
I think the EULA's outfit needs to be modified. We could start using tips from the marketing.
Lets just place few graphical elements to EULA's beginning to inform the reader what he is about to agree. I think many slashdot readers could find out fast from few EULA's that what are the bad things. Then just start promoting a list what explains fast the problems.
Example: (!) Your internet connection will be used as our distribution system. (!) We get copyright to your work what you send to our services (!) A hidden DRM is being installed to your computer (!) We do not guarantee the quality of the software (like Microsoft will pay you few dollars if their software causes something terrible)
And from 1 to 15 such points. With nice "standard" graphics so you can keep that as a checklist if there is something very bad. Then if there is something good. They could include
(+) You have a freedom to modify the software (+) You have a freedom to distribute the software (!) We do not guarantee the quality of the software (most FOSS software comes as it is. And of course, those who have paid services etc, they could remove that if they guarantee the software. Like RedHat or Novell could stand behind the errors for paid customers)
But how about then Facebook what knows exactly who are your friends, with who you chat and meet. Where you go, what music you listen, what movies you like, your ex's situations, your holidays places, your addresses, your workplace, even many gives their social security numbers and so on.
When it comes to Google, they can see everything what you ISP (= Government and the ISP as a company) can see, as well what you are doing in facebook.
But when it comes to real privacy, Facebook is bigger threat than Google. As Google does not know for who are your friends unless you use Google email services and you use them to contact your friends.
With all the social semantiks what facebook has, you can build so awesome anti-terrorists filtering and security system as you can just find everything from every facebook person.
Moonlight on the earth surface or moonlight of the moon?
Taking photos of the moon is same thing as taking photos of the bright sunlight of theearth surface. Like 1/125 f:11 ISO 100.
No but really, that is impressive but depends from the aperture and lens quality do we get better than f:0.4 or something. But that just means the A/D conversion is impressive at that size of sensor so we might see very noiseless ISO of 250 000 setting.
But there really is demand to get a old formats back. Especially if the megapixel amount would be same as with negative. What is not going to happend because Canon likes more to make bigger sensors than tight megapixels. Thing about A4 (197x210mm) sized full size architecture camera. On such negative with ISO 50-100 you can capture more details than what you could even think about with digital cameras.
Butter (animal fat) is best. Maybe the oldest trick to get all glue and similar stuff from tapes and so on off. Too bad thing is that the material need to be such what can take the butter. So do not use your most expensive silk to wash the butter off...
But that is nice news that ONE sticker will be removable easier. Now how about the physical brands behind screens and under the screen and so on? I want plain laptop. Apple has done great work with this, expect they have the lighten Apple logo in their screen.
But it is not nice to see "ACER TRAVELMATE XIAIXXAAYY" in big letters in the body. Or "DELL" or "SONY VAIO". When someone makes speakers to say every 15 minutes "This computers manufacturer was DELL, only the best!" then it is enough!
I would bet that the people in power have scared just to loose their changes to control their country as big international corporations are coming there to control the people. Now they want to get all possible access to them just to be top of all companies. India is not small market for anyone. Western countries has used india as slave country for very long time.
With one billion people (most of them are poor), there is something what makes foreign companies easy to control indians.
I would take alle 520 different filter applications +1 what would integrate all them to one UI. Wait... GIMP already does that! You do not need to use itself separated programs, you can have a program what use them. That is the modularity.
If you want to fix or improve one filter, you do not need to touch anything else. If one filter does not work, it does not affect other filters. Bad thing just is that if the UI app crash and does not work, you can not do your job unless you know how to use those 520 programs.
KDE is more than just a desktop Environment, it's a whole programming library and philosophy that unifies a family of applications, so they can interoperate, exchange data, and work together as well as you do.
It is hard to try explain what KDE is when using it the old manner what it was in 3.x series. Now in 4.x series, the technology has changed and as well the branding. There is no more KDE what would mean software. The KDE is name for the community.
Then there are KDE Platform, KDE Workspace, KDE Applications and KDE Development Platform. Those brands are the key technologies what KDE manufactures. Together they release a compilation every 6 months, hence the name KDE Software Compilation (KDE SC).
Every release gives new features and fixes to those brands. And to be even easier discuss the technology, now it is not needed to say "KDE is this and that". You can just say "KDE development platform is ________" or "I Like Plasma Desktop more than GNOME" or "I think Plasma Netbook is needed for Netbooks to get good UI but for fullsize laptop it is not so good".
All what you need to run KDE applications, is the KDE Platform. You can forget KDE Workspace (Plasma Desktop/Netbook/Mobile/Media Center) because it is not needed. You can run all wanted KDE applications in systems where KDE Platform is available. Like having a Kate or Konversation in Windows 7. You can still take KDE workspace and replace Explorer with it so you get the same workspace as you would get otherwise. Instead running Linux/FreeBSD or other Unix clone OS, you can run NT and run all Windows applications with that. It is just too bad that you can not replace the Windows windowmanager with KWin.
Linux (kernel) is Unix clone operating system. Android use Linux (kernel) as the OS, so why Android would not be in same manner Unix clone?
Linux is a clone of the operating system Unix, written from scratch by Linus Torvalds with assistance from a loosely-knit team of hackers across the Net. It aims towards POSIX and Single UNIX Specification compliance.
It has all the features you would expect in a modern fully-fledged Unix, including true multitasking, virtual memory, shared libraries, demand loading, shared copy-on-write executables, proper memory management, and multistack networking including IPv4 and IPv6.
The Unix standard does define the OS functions, but as well the basic system libraries and programs functions. Unix standard does not just define OS. The OS can be Unix, but the system might not.
Like Android, it includes Unix Clone operating system (Linux kernel) but it is not Unix system.

Only amateurs close other eye when aiming.
I pinched myself and it hurt. I demand explanation!
Example:
(!) Your internet connection will be used as our distribution system.
(!) We get copyright to your work what you send to our services
(!) A hidden DRM is being installed to your computer
(!) We do not guarantee the quality of the software (like Microsoft will pay you few dollars if their software causes something terrible)
And from 1 to 15 such points. With nice "standard" graphics so you can keep that as a checklist if there is something very bad.
Then if there is something good. They could include
(+) You have a freedom to modify the software
(+) You have a freedom to distribute the software
(!) We do not guarantee the quality of the software (most FOSS software comes as it is.
How big wonder it really is that after the USA Government made threaths to Wikileaks workers, there came public denigration about the wikileaks?
And I tought it would have been "Invest, Embrace, Extend, Extinguish"....
