Do what I do, and sit down and uninstall EVERYTHING you don't need or want. I spend a couple of hours cleaning up every machien I get that's got pre-installed OS because every company out there does the same thing.
They put in stuff that some people could make use of (guides and video how-to's) for those who need them. Me, I prefer to wipe them off and recover harddrive space.
After 4 months, when I called Hughes back to find out what the hell was going on, they told me the units were on back order. So much for a quick replacement.
I finally convinced them to send me a loaner unit (non-tivo) so I could actually use my new satilite dish, and when I finally got mine back (7 months after I sent it in) they never did send me a UPL return lable so I could send them the loner back. When I called them, they guy on the phone told me to just keep it because it was so old it wasn't worth getting back.
At least I have a backup if my tivo goes out agian, but I've had no problems with it since.
I'm looking into adding network connectivity to mine...
Just to add one note to this, in case anybody reads it...
Even if you've finished downloading the files, keeping the download window open, allows other's to get the file from you, and anyone else who has it.
The more people with full files doing this, the faster the downloads for everybody else.
If you haven't done so, download the "mandrake9.1.torrent" file directly from the link and save it locally. When you want to start it up again (if finished or not) simply double click on the.torrent file, and it'll start up again and pick up where it left off. If it's done, it'll start serving bit's out to everybody else.
Thanks to those who put this up. I've got 30 hours left to go...:P
It is quite possible that the email address was changed in the post by the university folx.
Beyond that, I'm still wondering why they haven't been lambased by the university for using a bot on there ftp server. I thought that was frowned upon by those who operate them because of the bandwidth cost.
Imagine a compound that could dupe your tongue into thinking bland oatmeal was hot-fudge-sundae sweet? Or another that could make kids hoover spinach like Popeye?
"You could make healthy foods taste better," Alejandro Marangoni, a food scientist at the University of Guelph, said of the new field. "Just blocking bitterness has huge potential. Somebody's going to make a lot of money."
I recall a scene from a (bad) movie called Brazil where diners in a restaraunt were served blocks of blue stuff with a picture of what it was suppose to be.
If the above could be made a reality, we could eat the exact same thing, day after day, and pick what we wated to taste, while eating foods that were perfectly designed for proper digestion, glucose controll (for diabetics) or any number of things. Imagine no more worry about gaining weight because of what you ate? 3 meals a day of Dutch Cholcolate Cake? No problem!
The only concern I have about this, is the following:
In fact, children's cough syrup might well be among the first candidate products for AMP.
Frankly, I'd prefer to have children's medication NOT taste good enough for them to desire it. It's tempting enough for a child got get into sweets without throwing medications into the mix.
Stomped: What was the year 2000 like for your particular gaming projects? Were you happy with the response to your most recent games? if you did not release a game this year, were you happy with the progress made during your current game's development?
Wouldn't you think that, if you were going to interview someone, you'd at least know a little about what they've done in the past year?

They sell macines. Servers and desktop. Just because they've chosen to use Linux instead of Windows, doesn't make it wrong. John
Remember the reason that companies write software. It's to make money. Certainly, they are not going to give it all away, when they can sell it.
Don't be too discouraged, that name brand software titles are being ported to Linux, and then sold. They still advance the OS in ways that giving it all away can never do. Once the name brands hit the market, more people will take notice.
If you still want to use the freeware, it'll be around. I don't see that changing any time soon.
Oh, password for sex.
:)
After sex, change password.
Repeat...

Things to do today:
1. Wife.
There's a solution to this...

Using IE, I got a messages telling me that the web page was trying to close the window and did I want it to.
Guess they figured you were done with the internet at that point.
Only four months? You're lucky.

Windows has downloaded another critical update to apply....
Can it bring me a good cup of coffee?
Denver, CO has no showings listed either.
Spirited away got exactly ONE showing prior to the oscars, and that at a small art house. Now, it's showing on several screens around the city.
You'd think that the theater chains would at least show the flick at one or two screens, for a week or so, just to capture that revenue.
Like you said, there's always DVD, in another 9 montsh...

Understandably, since they were both similar.
Twiki(?) was from Buck Rogers in the 21st Century, not BG.

Tells me I don't want to read Stomped interviews.
Good news about NWN though. :)

Personally, I can't wait. It's always been my favorite mind-numbing waste of time...

One would assume that they have used it in their own products. The only one I can think of at the moment would be the CIV II Call to Power port. John
