He was right. Then Apple made iPods with USB. Then Apple made iTunes for windows. Then Apple made them cheaper...and cheaper...and cheaper. Then Apple managed a few to get a few trend whores, and as they say: The rest is history.
Ironic that the screenshots don't look nearly as good as what my single 7900GT outputs to my 1920x1080 monitor. Little or no reflection on the water, one can't install the Unique Landscapes mods, or Natural environments mods. I can't edit the configuration ini that changes all sorts of nifty graphical settings as well as performance boosts and the like.
The law calls for the Web site to go online by Jan. 1, 2008. It will list federal grants and contracts greater than $25,000, except for those classified for national security reasons.[emphasis added]
Except Bush won't have damn to do with it! RTFA! It goes into effect after he's gone!
But that's why it's so difficult! Without 2 or 3 PhDs in biology or geography it's difficult to understand the "facts". Just like if my docter tells me I need tests Foo, Bar, and Baz I'll probably let her do it, but I don't understand the tests or what they do. I have a rudimentary understanding of the human body and of biology and chemistry but not enough to know how some of these tests work or what drugs I'm told to take afterward. I trust my docter though and will do nearly anything she says I need.
What happens if she's "motivated" to support certain drugs? Or my insurance company? What if she believes in practicing medicine certain way and doesn't want to give that up and that in turn is harmful to my health, or to others down the road?
She's now compromised my health in favor of $MOTIVATION.
So what if scientists, journalists or politicians are motivated by certain industries, associations or businesses? I already don't trust studies by industry, even if they are right. But I'm not sure I trust scientists or journalists either. The former can believe in a certain school of thought and never consider other views. Consider certain scientific journals, many times they won't publish things they don't "like". Those are the preachers and not the scientists. The latter (journalists) knows as little as I do, and if they can get a story that preaches enough doom they'll publish it, regardless of facts. If it sells papers, subscriptions or gets ratings: w00t!
So, the question is, will MS do with zune as they did with the xbox and sell it at a loss just so they can overtake apple.
How did MS try to over take Apple with the X-Box?:)
I get where you're coming from, though. John C. Dvorak for the first time ever, was actually coherent and said on Twit, "Why did Microsoft introduce IE? It was to undercut and undermine Netscape. Why the hell did they do *that*? There's no long-term benefit...it was out of spite."
Microsoft created IE in the mid to late nineties because they thought the Internet was going to be the next big thing. Well, they were right. But IE is only the software that downloads the HTML and renders it, nothing more. They did it to undercut Netscape, which wasn't a competitor and really wouldn't have been, afterall Netscape's software ran on their platform (sounds like "The Party"...). Microsoft already had a huge market share, they didn't need to create IE to "get in on it."
Just like now, the iPod isn't competition. It's just doing fantastically well and Microsoft wants a cut. Welcome to monopolyville.
If that's true, then why can I notice stark differences between 150, 300 and 600 dpi images? It has to do with pixel density. That's why signage is 50-150 dpi, it's readable from a distance. Small print work like books, magazines, business cards and the like are 300-600 DPI, because they're seen much closer. In order to have font size at 12pt and still be readable you need to have high pixel/dot density. That's a little oversimplified, so read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dots_per_inch
So long as their lawyers don't carry around baseball bats, planks with a nail or three in the end and/or tommy guns I don't think anyone but music fans will give a flying fornication. The RIAA just needs one royal f***-up (no, not the "minor" ones they've been doing recently, something spectacularly bad), then the public and Congress (no, scratch that last one...they'll still be payed off) will wake up. Hopefully.
Finish off with a little bit of low viscosity liquid car wax, this works great on lacquered or non-painted plastic surfaces. If you've got really deep scratches that just won't come you could always try paste car wax or if you're really brave rubbing compound (the latter is used for very deep scrateches and surface rust on cars...be careful). Again be careful what surface you any waxes or pastes and the like on, they're not always meant for the surface you're going to use them on.

Strange...I posted a reply to my comment 30 seconds after posting when I realized I was wrong. I must not have waited long enough between posts.

Wii don't think these dumb 'Wii' jokes are funny anymore.
Capiish?

When they started making enough money for most folks in Washington to notice.
That needed pointing out?
I thought everyone knew that was the way this country's f***ed up government works.
Hahaha, that's nothing! My MythTV does 120-times!
But, does it run Windows?
