The latest polls/lists even suggest that BD is selling much more now as HD-DVD (look at the numbers of "300" 65% BD against 35% HD-DVD, how can you not see that Bluray is much bigger in demand).. I think someone is sleeping over there, or basing his/her decissions on old info... And not counting PS3 as a Bluray-player? most people I know are buying the PS3 just so they can watch BD-movies, with one big reason being that when new generation BD-players are coming next year, they still have a device that is capable of more than only playing BD-disks.. Also with HD-DVD there is only ONE big company actually making the players, whilst BD is supported by all the other major electronic companies.. I guess that they will come back on their decission...
The foundation's director Yury Lavbin claimed to have discovered the wreckage of an alien spacecraft during the expedition.
If that's actually true, why didn't he show pictures or the whole damn wreckage?
What the hell double standards?
there is a big difference between opening up and closing down..
people are getting to dumb these days to understand such concepts and have to bitch about stuff like this.
These days, the more I read Slashdot articles I get the feeling that more and more retards are writing articles..
I think this is pure BS, since DRM-free content in Full-HD does play also in fullHD.. If you really read the original article, you can see that it's purely MS-bashing of the first grade..
How about saving the movies you download? or the music you transfer to the PS3.. The PS3 is more than just a dumb gameconsole... It's a great Mediacentre which happens to be able to play games too...
You know modchips are illegal, and now you're caught.. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. people are always putting the blame somewhere else..
He did something criminal, so it's good he got caught.. and bitching about drugs etc is also dumb, because that's another department... that's like saying to traffic control to go solve murders...
A lot of sensors to make the driver attent, why the hell doesn't it stop the car and prevent the driver from starting...
IMHO, when people are caught drinking and driving, just revoke their license for the rest of their life.. If you still are dumb enough to go drink and drive with that in perspective, than you certainly are not fit to drive a car at all (IMHO you shouldn't drink at all, not even 1 beer)..
Everybody knows that it's illegal to record in a cinema, and if you are dumb enough to go ahead and do it anyway, than you must face the consequences.. He just didn't think before he did it, and now he's paying for it..
I guess in the end this will just blow over and propably they get a slap on the wrist and not their camcorder back..
And there's always the saying: "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime" they just should have known better......
I'm with you.. It's complete and utter BS that they have a special day.. without coders like us there wouldn't even be systemadministrators, but we don't need systemadministrators to code..
Even I think secretaryday is BS.. they get paid for doing their job..
It's always saddening to read about people trashing people who actually try to prevent something illegal.
Everybody in his right mind knows that downloading/sharing content (for which you normally have to pay for) is illegal and just as bad as stealing someones money (for that's actually what you do).
I know that in some people's mind the prices which are asked for the content seem too high, but does that mean it's ok to just steal it? you don't go stealing a humvee or ferrari because you think it's too expensive.. Because it's easy and at the moment you won't get caught doesn't mean you should.
If you think that companies turn out trash, why the hell do you watch/listen it then? If you really want to watch a certain movie (and don't want to pay for it) then wait until it's broadcast on some public tv station, and the same goes for music, just listen to it when it's on the radio..
Why do people believe they have a right to the specific content without paying for it?
It's up to the companies to decide how much they wanna ask for it, but because more and more people are stealing it, it means that they just have to up the price to get any profits from it, and even more companies go bankrupt these days which means less new content, more 'save' content..
instead of bitching about somebody wanting to stop it, go get a life and start paying for the 'fun' you have with the content..
Well, I think this is just a smearcampaign, because every mail I and my friends(also not in my contacts) send with attachements get through..Ever thought about the fact that the mailserver which sends it blocks the attachements? a lot of companies have blocked attachements (without warnings to the sender)..
Open source can be great, but this is a good example (like many others) why opensource isn't always 'reliable' for any company... Think when you are using this software, and now it seems it isn't supported anymore, that means you need to switch to other software, which ofcourse is a very pricey business..
Well, first giving permission and later revoking that permission is a weird thing, but it could also be that the permission was given with some 'clauses'..
Als I can imagine that GW does not want a fanmovie be made when they plan a live-action movie themselves..
Seeing the trailer I can also imagine that they just didn't like it and where afraid it could damage their 'name'...
But hee, just finish the movie, and let it accidently slip onto the internet, once there, there's no stopping..
I just hope they also have an english track, as the german voices where damn ugly.. (And I grew up with german TV here in the netherlands so it's not that I wouldn't know what they were saying, it just sounded awfull)
what a load of crap. Sony already said before even releasing the PS3 in the states that the emotionchip will get cut once the Softwareemulation is complete. And I wouldn't even be suprised if the current PS3's released in the state already don't have the chip anymore.
Seeing the sales on Amazon of a 2800% increase since the pricedrop, it looks like the pricedrop did have a very positive effect.
Uhm.. you haven't been in our toys/mediashops then... There are too much Wii's now, and the reason is because a lot of people see now that the Wii isn't as innovating as it is said to be, also people with HD(ready)TV's are seeing the downside of the cheaper Wii as it doesn't do HD at all..
You can bitch what you want, but: "if can't do the time, don't do the crime" or something like that...
You know it's illegal, so just don't do it... It's just like shoplifting and then bitch about being caught..
Ofcourse your rant has nothing to do with this article, as you know beforehand that the title you've bought won't work on XP... And the crack that is mentioned here doesn't work properly, it doesn't get you all the features that is available on Vista in the game.. So if you plan to buy this game knowing that it isn't designed for XP but runs on it using a hack, than I think you are a sad person..
the fact that the articlewriter says more 'safe' (read: crap) music says enough about objectivity..
Because he doesn't like that kind of music doesn't mean it's crap.. If it really was crap music, than nobody would buy it or listen to it, but it seems that most people actually like that 'crap' over 'independant' musicians.. It also isn't my kind of music, but saying it's crap is just BS..
For me CD's are the only way of getting the music as it is meant to be (well at least as possible as), mp3's is just too much distorted, using a simple 'cheap' earphone you can hear the difference very good between a regular CD or a iTunes bought number, or a CD ripped to MediaPlayer with rather good bitstream..
Also the advantage of a CD is that you have a 'hardcopy' of your music, and with that you can rip (for own use)it to any bitstream you like...
A long time ago there was a story on/. on how mp3 damages your hearing because it drops certain parts..
Well, it isn't difficult to sell an old useless console with profit, because that's what the wii is, old technology, the control is not even that great or special, for god sake, you can't even play a dvd on the bugger even though it has a dvdplayer inside... The PS3 isn't a staggering high price (maybe you don't have enough money to buy it, but that doesn't mean the price is too high), with the PS3 you get all the stuff the wii can do (like emulating old games), but you also get a HD multimediacentre, and 'NextGen' games.. But then again, you propably can't look any further than looking at it as a gameconsole, which it ofcourse also is, but it's much more... A HD capable xbox360 with the same ammount of Harddrivespace costs just as much as the PS3 (even the PS3 is a but cheaper, since it does also have Wifi built in), so in the end the PS3 isn't that pricey at all...
Uhm.. appearantly it stops them anyway, the only thing you can do right now is boot from it, but not play, so their protection does work...
But why all the hassle of homebrew like this? when you can just run linux from it and run homebrew games... And I bet it would be possible to create a bootable linux dvd (if that isn't already possible)..
If this order were allowed to stand, it would mean that Web sites can be required by discovery judges to track what their users do even if their privacy policy says otherwise.
Well policies can never overrule law... So if they want to keep servicing the US than they have to do what the judge ordered them (unless they appeal the ruling ofcourse).. And let's not forget that 90% what is getting onto torrentspy is 'illegal' stuff...

Yeah, like ODF wouldn't have exactly the same problem.. oh wait, because it's opensource people think it doesn't apply for the same rules...
It will be difficult to remove watermarks without destroying the original content.. watermarks are very advanced these days...
The foundation's director Yury Lavbin claimed to have discovered the wreckage of an alien spacecraft during the expedition. If that's actually true, why didn't he show pictures or the whole damn wreckage?

firefox secure? firefox is just as leak as IE is.. and FF isn't memory hungry at all nooooo, that's just my imagination...
