My single CPU server can toss tens of thousands of spams per hour - a few million per day has been observed. Because my domain is very old, it features in every spam list this side of Betelgeuse. My incoming mail is almost exclusively spam. Out of the million or so incoming, only about 5 emails are legit.
So, no, it cannot take 8 seconds to process a spam message.
H.264 is not a single codec standard - it is an encyclopedia and includes a zoo of codecs.
Ferinstance, you are probably referring to "H.264 MPEG 4 part 10 AVC".
Screen scraping is a very common activity. Everybody needs to use the Print Screen function eventually and it is a simple step to edit the result in the Gimp.
Oh well, at least I actually tried it. So I can say that it works. It is one of the better music players out there, but I don't like it, since I cannot collapse the song title column which makes my 20,000 plus song archive hard to use.
Most music players fal over if you have a really large number of titles. So my fallback is to use the file manager and a double click to launch XMMS.
...and if we repeat it a few more times, it will become gospel and will be preached in churches and quoted in political speeches and global warming documents.

Sorry, your math is wrong. You cannot compare US and Brit mpg figures directly.
