    There is no way my organization would ever stand for this sort of data mining; They'll leave windows far far behind before this happens.

    The average person may find it annoying but will upgrade regardless. They either do not know or do not care that there is an alternative.

    The average company that uses Windows does so for numerous reasons, loyalty being last. If they "need" a certain application, "need" the interface, or "need" the support, they will continue to upgrade.

    The unstated elephant in the room is that 95-99% of malware attacks are due to Microsoft vulnerabilities.
    Microsoft's dominance over the market makes it more enticing to malware writers, regardless of how many vulnerabilities it has. If damage is their desire, they want the most damage; if it is a zombie network, they want the biggest zombie network.
    If linux ever manages to overtake windows, it will become the primary target.

    He is exited about something PDA's have done for years. Many laptops, too, have had touchscreen capabilities for a while now. And with the exception of the touchscreen, the iPhone is one of many cell phones that can play music and view the web.
    Revolutionary? Only in the sense that Apple could make it mainstream like they did with the iPod. But, like the iPod, this is nothing new.

    Nowhere in the article does it say how it will be different from previous titles. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing. Who knows, this may be the next revolution in gaming. More likely, however, it will be yet another sequel. Only time and a few trailers and demos will tell. "Civilization Revolution is the game I've always wanted to make!" When has a game maker ever said, "Here is ournew game. It blows, but we made it anyways."

    it's irrelevant what OS you use
    The exploit is at the hardware level, but the program targeting the exploit would be written for the individual OS. Not to say macs are in any way better, just that they have a smaller chance of being targeted than windows/*nix.

    If you connect a few together through usb you would have more ethernet ports. Also, you could use it as a usb network adapter with a built-in firewall.

    Yes, because typing in "apt-get" or "emerge" makes so much more sense to new users than double-clicking an icon that says "setup".
    There are many new users, more specifically the older ones, that are more comfortable with a keyboard. It looks to them like a high-tech typewriter, which they already are comfortable with. The mouse, on the other hand, often gets astonished looks. I have given up on being surprised when someone asks which is the left button.

    The local stations may not care or may even be supportive of the bans seeing as internet radio competes with them.

    have to download a pirated version just to use the software you've legitimately paid for because of artificial limitations
    If enough of us refuse to buy software, music, or movies from companies that deliberately frustrate their paying customers, then they will either change their strategy or they will deservedly go out of business.
    The problem is if we refuse to buy from them, they will complain to the RIAA/MPAA that we are pirating. More pirates means more DRM.

    With so much negativity recently towards Wikipedia, it is interesting they would choose to move into an area as chaotic as games. It will be interesting to see how they plan to structure it in order to prevent the flamers from destroying the site.

    For example, I see commercials for some vocational school (like ITT, or it might actually be ITT) for their video game education track.
    I would be both amazed and scared if the "I can't believe we get paid to do this!" guys were actually hired by a studio. Which is worse: the fact that they portray the industry in such a manner, or that so many fall for it?

    Majora's Mask was the most non-linear Zelda game made. All the mini-quests were a great break from the typical dungeon to dungeon routine, but the main storyline was lame. Any time the third day rolled around, you could march up the tower and stare skull kid in the eye, but you could not hit him with any weapon. All in all, it would be nice if they would bring back the sheer number of side quests Majora had so long as it did not take away from the main storyline.
