They hire Indian immigrants on the H-1B Visa program and lay-off hard-working American Engineers. Who really cares is a lame Disney movie got stolen. Good riddance.
I am hanging onto my Windows 7 machines until MS releases an OS with a Windows 7-like UI. If Windows 11 doesn't have a normal UI I may have to switch to Mac or Linix. I have hopes for 11 though, because they say to avoid all even-numbered Windows releases. So far the advice has been spot on.
Why would they do this? This is like hearing they developed a way to make more bloodthirsty mosquitoes. Let's focus science back on making better electric cars, space travel, faster computers, etc...
...VIC-20. Purchased at a garage sale for $20. Later I upgraded to the C-64... and even later an Amiga 500. These days, computers can do anything and the primary difference between my current Windows 7 Pro machine and the next PC i buy will be the horrible Windows 10 UI. But back in the 80's and 90's every new computer was different and NEW and EXCITING. I miss that feeling. Much like my first run through Ashron's Call.
Driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles is about a 4-5 hour drive. And when you arrive you will have a car to navigate Southern California (aka "The Land of the Automobile"). If you were to fly, you would either take public transportation, or be driven to the airport 2+ hours before your flight, which likely leaves at 5:30 AM, (at which point, you abandon your ground transport). Then you have to put up with massive crowds going through the TSA nightmare, take off your shoes and belt...awkwardly put them back on while the line waits impatiently behind you...after being screened for bombs, toothpaste, water bottles, and other dangerous items. After being probed you will continue on to your gate where you will play the waiting game. Let's face it, not airplane has ever been early. San Francisco is prone to dense fog. Your flight will either be delayed to land or take off will be delayed while they clear out the fog. Then you will board, be crushed by the fatties who should be charged for multiple seats, crying children, your carry-on items will have shifted by the time you land. You have been exposed to any number of flu/cold viruses while on the plane and in all of the lines you had to wait in. And hopefully your ride is there to pick you up at LAX. Public transport is lacking in SoCal. Of course you can rent a car, but that is another line to wait in and battle to fight.
Unless Microsoft brings back the Windows 7 UI in Windows 11 I think I will either move on to a Mac or Lunix distribution for my next computer. They will also need to scrap the data collection and advertising features in Windows 11.
I really hope Windows 11 goes back to the Windows 7 look and feel. Otherwise I am switching to a Mac or Linux desktop. Windows 8 and 10 have terrible interfaces. Classic Shell helps a lot, but it isn't as good as an actual Windows 7 interface.
Wouldn't a password manager be a good single point to attach for someone trying to get your information? Sites, usernames and passwords, all in one neat file.
The problem is that it releases more greenhouse gasses than it traps. All we can really do is stop using carbon based fuels and wait it out. Or find a new place to live.
Nature somehow starts with a bunch of species and wipes it out to a few. We will probably be left with cockroaches, pigeons, mosquitoes, cows, pigs and chickens by the time extinct ourselves.
I deleted my facebook several years ago. I never used twitter. I have this/. account. What will they do with people who do not partake in social networking?

I could go for this as well.

TSA soldiers will be cutting out the offender's tongues at the behest of United management?
Wow.
Realistically, I miss the Windows 7 and XP UIs the most. Very natural and easy compared to Windows 8.x and 10.

Do they plan for this to be the last UI they make as well? It is too bad they settled on an even numbered release for all eternity.

But why doesn't he focus on getting us all in electric cars that we can ALL afford? >$30k?

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

For me the $80 becomes $110 When I try to sign up. It seems a little misleading.
My account turns 20 sometime this year as well. But they made me change my password last year.

But what we could really use is the next 16 years of space weather.
We got our rights as bingers. I want to be able to watch the entire season on release day. #BingerLivesMatter
Why can't the mosquito or Lyme disease tick be endangered?
I wish we could add some other live channels to our accounts like ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX for a nominal fee.
