I suspect if these folks are given plentiful opportunities to identify and correct their mistakes they will. And it looks as if the U.N., et alia, will happily oblige at this time.
I have been wanting one of these phones for several years now. Just waiting for the product to mature appropriately. I liked the idea. I liked the phone (even though it was/is a little on the bulky side--not so much different from the one I have now). And, despite being buggy (again, not so much different from the one I have now--WM 6.1), I was just about ready to jump in. Hoping that within the next 18 months or so it would be at a level of usability that I could tolerate.
And Android? Interesting...but I really wanted the FreeRunner. Bummer. Heh.
Why *should* they change? Demand for games is largely (though not completely) inelastic - dropping the price doesn't result in an equivalent increase in sales.
Maybe I'm different. I had an Atari 7800 when it first came out. I was thrilled. It could play 2600 games. I only had about 5 or 6 2600 games at the time.
A local store was selling their stock of said 2600 games for $1 each. I cleaned 'em out. I got a little over 20 unique games out of the deal. No E.T. though.
My price point lately has been around the $15 mark for most games. I won't spend more than that. I just can't justify the prices these days. It's insane!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This has got to be one of the most excessive police actions ever. Sending a man to jail for a non-violent offense. I hate this country's legal system.
Going to jail for nonviolent crimes isn't new and it certainly isn't an exclusive feature of the U.S.'s judicial system. At least, he's not very likely to die during his time served. Y'all might want to send him some soap-on-a-rope though.
My brother-in-law is a bit of an audiophile. He's not totally neurotic about it, but he's much more obsessive than me. We're talkin' low-middlish-end B&W speakers (I would've bought a car for that kind of money, personally), DVD players to play CDs, NAD amp, shielded, expensive cabling, and those pointy things that you put under your speakers to poke through the carpeting to get to the hard floor below.
I sat in his "listening environment" at a preselected place (he actually had his speakers placed according to a formula to derive the best location for listening) and listened to a CD he put on. Closed my eyes, and I have to say if I didn't know I was sitting in his apartment, I would've sworn I was sitting in a club, six feet from the singer sitting on the piano serenading me. It was stunning how much difference there was between my Pioneer multi-disc Best Buy special and his equipment. I was blown away.
I think the folks in this study just haven't heard stunningly good music and have no idea that it could/should be better.
What's funny... I really haven't watched much OTA television since my kids were born. Maybe about two hours a week just capturing snippets of the news--but mostly Sesame Street. So, you could make a good argument that I DO live in a cave and I knew about this transition years ago when it was first proposed. I even vowed not to purchase a new television until after the transition occurred. I've since changed my mind on that, I'm keeping the TV and getting the converter. How could anyone be caught off-guard by this? It baffles me.
Now, why didn't I get a coupon so I can snag one of those fancy $130 antennas?
Obviously you haven't dealt with these folks. They have no sense of humor. And they usually aren't very nice either. I've tried both and ended up filling out MUCH more paperwork and being delayed. I consider that my warning. I don't really want to get on the wrong side of these folks. It's just not worth it in my line of work.
I couldn't agree more. I eagerly anticipated the return of Futurama but was unbelievably disappointed with Bender's Big Score. By the time I got to Beast.. I couldn't even finish the show. Futurama has jumped the shark.
I'm hoping that wasn't your blog because whoever wrote it sounds like he was eavesdropping on a conversation about automobile manufacture.
A good term to know before writing uninformed garbage like this would be:
"Unibody" or more informatively (I'll spare you the wiki link), a style of monocoque construction where the metal is stressed and connected in such a way that it reinforces itself. Kinda neat really, but not quite "unit-body". That would be different.
I couldn't read past that without laughing.
"It's just that I also happen to see trucks as being much better built and ultimately safer to drive."
The 'better built' part, probably refers to a subjective analysis of the vehicle's engineering. The 'ultimately safer' part. Probably a subjective opinion.
"...people drive SUVs too fast in wet and icy conditions"
Perhaps your personal disdain for SUVs is clouding your objectivity by making you think this behavior reflects poorly on the engineering of the vehicle. Don't worry, it's common here.
The only thing Windows-related I've ever needed on my phone was RDP. And on my Fuze (Windows Mobile 6), it crashes every time I use it. I'm starting to wonder if the iPhone would have been a better choice.
An adult woman in the same setting would be seen as being in a "sexual", or rather, possibly, slightly suggestive pose, because she's potentially a mate for half the population. Whereas a 10 year old girl isn't (only to a tiny fringe).
Geez, so now there'll be a Notary service at every book signing. Sounds like a business opportunity.
Sled Driver is pilot-centric.
Geez, I'm starting to feel bad that I paid an extra $19.95 a month for the new DirecTV Paint Drying channel.

What about a car powered by air? Personally, if the cost were right, I'd get this one.

Chimps smimps. Lions are no slouches either.

There's a reason that Geek Squad and countless local techs are in business...
So, I guess we need the Gnerd Hurd.

1 KLOC = 1024
1 KLoC = 1000
Frankly, my time is worth enough that spending more than three or four hours shopping for a new TV (or any other appliance) is a bad idea.
Just a little ribbing, but I'd think you have a little more free time than you let on.
I am anxiously awaiting the latest updates to my Yggdrasil system.
If I had to guess, somewhere in Portland?
Have you tried to apply for a job without the internet lately?
Actually, yes. It seems to work better when you meet the potential employer in person. It's weird how that works.

Actually, I think one of the better videos came out of IBM.

You haven't been to Tennessee have you?
Couldn't help it, sorry.
Ummm, probably. It's a very well known vaccine.
My kids are just a bit past 3 and they still fancy tearing the keys off my laptop's and desktop's keyboards. Wait a bit.
