That's going to teach you how to survives, if no other game can.
It's the only survival game I know that really modifies the display if someone pokes on of your eyes: beware of that eagle's beak when you are fighting for food.

I always thought Carmeggedon 2 should have been disturbing, but i found it funny instead. I did find Quarantine disturbing though.

Not an adventure, but IMHO definitely the best game around: Civ II. I don't know how many months (man months, not calendar months) I've spent playing it...

This idea has already been done. Although a couple posters have already cited some recent games, there is at least one RPG series I know of, from the mid 90s, that have the full force of realism you are speaking of. I can't say it was the best game I've ever played, but at least they made an attempt!

He's referring to Catacomb 3D, presumably a sequel. Although a lot of people consider Ultima Underworld (1992) to be the first true FPS, even though Wolf3D was the first truely immersive one.

Remake X-Com Enemy Unknown, please. We miss it. (Note: 'miss' means still play on our PS2 with the scratched but readable X-Com PS1 Disc or the abandonia copy of x-com gold).

(According the the voodoo lady in MI4, she's got a 5 game contract, but without Gilbert the series quality suffered, and the market isn't that big, so it's pretty iffy if MI5 will happen. Don't play MI4, it'll make you cry if you liked 1 and 2)

And just to continue our time travel excursion, check out the Apple II joysticks, very different from the Atari ones. These were great for games like Castle Wolfenstein as compared to the stiff joysticks.
