Barnes and Noble usually have large bookstores, with entirely different sections if not rooms, for Fiction, Non-Fiction, Political, and Religion books. Depending upon the layout, it might be possible for two sections to be adjacent, although I have never seen any Bibles being placed anywhere else except the main
From the exact wording, the writer certainly sounds like a joker messing around with someone else's property. -

No, the fundamental problem isn't solved. The fundamental problem is the same people who forward urban legends around the net.
Unfortunately, we still can't figure out how to stab people in the face over the internet -
Re:Moderate: Unfunny
What possible bearing on the rating could that line have on the rating? Is "puff" a swear word or something?
America's religious right are very touchy about Creationism vs. Evolutionism.
Having God disappear in a puff of logic is just rubbing salt in the wound.
There's a IRC chat in bash.org, where a guy got fired for accidently putting Bibles in the fiction section. -
what's wrong with the current installation?

Hmm...
I've been an avid fan of Gentoo for quite a while now, so I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this article or the postings so far.
I guess I've always had a sense of pride of being able to compile the OS during the installation, but yes it's true, it's a pain in the arse to get a 'quick' installation going. Hopefully a graphical installation won't "taint" the perception that the speed and efficiency of an OS compiled for your own hardware isn't worth the time it takes.
I currently run gentoo 2005.0 on my Toshiba laptop and love it, and will be changing my primary linux fileserver/workstation to gentoo in the next little while.
Here's one of my favorite bash.org quotes about gentoo. Got a good chuckle out of it...

Had it not been AC, I would expect some credit where due.

Re:Had a similar, RL caseThere is nothing remotely funny or challenging about giving a new user an unfamiliar command to wipe his disk clean.
Yes, there is: We're not talking about an innocent n00b---we're talking about a malicious yet fundamentally clueless asshole who was attempting to vandalize someone else's machine. bitchcheck acted like he was some sort of 1337 HaX0r God yet demonstrated an astonishing degree of incompetence. He tried to commit a crime and it backfired. That's funny for all the right reasons.
Oh, and giving a bunch of n00bs a keen flash of insight about Alt-F4 and getting a good laugh while costing them nothing more than the few seconds it takes to reconnect is a harmless prank. Harmless. And if there's this one guy who keeps reconnecting and Alt-F4'ing back out, so much the better.

This is the story

Re:I'll bet everyone $10There are a few real world instances related to this. Maybe not as severe as the story.

That stack of magazines under the bed...> "David Clark had kept copies of the magazine for years, despite pleas from his wife to throw them away."
Me: That stash of magazines under my bed... It's not what it looks like!
Dad: Well, I hope not. Because it looks like you're masturbating to a 35-year old copy of Electronics magazine!

Re:Informative Links:Well, Gentoo is pretty easy to install if you know the right commands. In either case, though, the instructions are completely opaque to anyone who doesn't already know that system inside and out.
built-djbdns? Oh, that's right - it's not Free Software so Debian can't package it.
Something about configuring DNS. Maybe to run as "nobody", I presume. I guess we're setting up a cache directory in
/etc? Something or another about localhost./var/what?
I'm not trying to slag on you, but those aren't exactly the most transparent instructions I've seen.

I'm surprised nobody linked to the #2 post on bash.org. The similarities are surprising.
