    Uh... You mean like the network installation option? Like the one I use almost daily for my installs?

    Using pxe-boot, from tftp server, launching the initrd and kernel files from the *shock horror* pxeboot images folder! You can also boot the cd and select http/ftp/etc install or create floppies... Plenty of options.

    All peoples should be exceedingly surprised to learn that Einsteins' concept of TIME, which he assigned as the 4th Dimension, and the speed of light are one and the same. It means by altering either one then the other one must remain unchanged; be declared a constant. Einstein could have made TIME the constant and the speed of light alterable. I will demonstrate this by using a high speeding spacecraft in which the speed of light within the spacecraft has halved to 150,000 k.p.sec. then the TIME, it is relative to, has to be made Stationary Time the constant and the speed of light alterable. We could use our, not so quite, stationary TIME on Earth. Now I will do it the other way by making TIME in the spacecraft as the variable and halving it, but the speed of light MUST become the constant and be related as 300,000 k.p.sec., which is the common everyday way it is stated, explained, understood and taught. What I have now done is to prove and explain more easily that I had and have proven the Speed of light is ALTERABLE. It is under my non-exclusive copyright.

    A decade or more ago I stated Black Holes should be stationary. I also stated the speed of light within Black Holes has slowed and the previous paragraphs' data proves I had and have proven my statement was true and correct. With Black Holes being stationary then the speed of light within them is relative to Stationary Time making the speed of light slower due to the Black Holes massive mass and the resulting massive gravity. The speeding spacecrafts' mass increases with its' speed increasing. So an increased mass causes an increase in gravity and a slower TIME or rather a slower speed of light.

    A major problem has been that the World Science Establishments, Educational and Political Systems and the colluding Media Establishments wrongly believing that the speed of light is unalterable. All this would be of great surprise to the World Science Establishments and an enormous surprise for the public to know of their surprise due to Science, Scientists and Physicists Internationally not understanding Relativity. They all have not understood Einsteins' Relativity since it's release in 1905. Maybe Spacetime's 4th Dimension being defective and deficient can take some of the blame, but only part of the blame for it is their weak minds and poor reasoning powers and arrogance that is at fault. I again have demonstrated and proven my Intellectual and Scientific superiority and again I am being denied credit, recognition, and public awareness so depriving me of financial remuneration which hinders and stops me from getting my major Fusion and Space projects underway in Australia with International involvement. The Media deceives and confuses the Public of the credibility of my achievements with its' silence.

    How often do you actually download something at 5.0Mb/s? There are only a handful of servers in the world that would let a public internet connection download at that speed...

    Pretty much every few days with Gentoo updates and such. http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/, http://mirror.pacific.net.au/, and http://planetmirror.com/ are all open to the public (well, mirror.aarnet.edu.au is reportedly .au only, I've never had the chance to see for myself), and very fast from my broadband connection here in Melbourne.

    According to whois.apnic.net, spam and security complaints pertaining to that Pacific Internet Australia network can be sent to <abuse@pacific.net.au>. According to the Pacific Internet Email AUP, unsolicited bulk e-mail constitutes abuse, and there is no obvious exception made for political campaigns as far as I can see. Maybe Australian law permits network providers to enforce stricter terms on their customers than the terms implied by the law itself? I don't live in Australia, so it will be up to the Australians to find out (if the junk mail was indeed distributed using Pacific Internet resources).

    Also, is a collection of links on mobile routing protocols, and mesh routing protocols that were originally designed for wired backbone links.

    I'm a sysadmin with one of the download sites - the one in Australia, Pacific Internet. I wasn't the one who put up the mirror site in the first place, but I was the one who cleaned up the mess. When the mirror was originally put up, it was using a sizeable chunk of our bandwidth - big enough that our Networks team noticed it and wondered what was up. So we limited the number of downloads to ~40, and all was good for a number of days. Sure, it would be hard to get on, but if you were in Australia (or the US, most likely) it'd be faster than not getting it.
    Then what happened? Slashdot happened.
    Suddenly, the server was getting hammered by thousands of people who thought "Ooh, 600M of prerelease game. Better give my Cable/DSL/work T3 a work-out", and completely failed to read the section reading "If you know you did not sign up for beta, you don't need to download the client".
    So if you're one of those people, (especially that one guy on @home cable in washington who tried every 5-10 seconds for 3 hours) congratulations, you spoilt it for everyone (well, for the 40 users allowed to connect, anyway).
    I'll probably put it back up again in a couple of days, once the greed effect wears off.

    In Australia, licenced telecommunications carriers have some legal right to lay cable without any compensation for the owners of land or buildings.

    I found this when I ran Zeta Internet and we laid coax up our building's telecommunications riser to provide some other tenants with Internet access. The building owner was cool with it until I sold the business to Pacific Internet and then he wanted to be paid for the use of the riser. So anyway I checked the legislation and found that under certain circumstances carriers have this or that right. Nevertheless we offered a fixed payment per annum and the owner didn't accept it and he stopped talking to us. I think it was a lot less than he was hoping for :-)

    I can't find the legislation right now, unfortunately but it should be somewhere under http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/ ta1997214/index.html.

    ... I believe they have made some mistakes that Java thankfully avoids.

    Hmmm. The only mistake I could spot that Java didn't make is the lack of exception specification (throws clause) on methods. This is the same idiotic mistake that Microsoft continues to make with Visual C++ which supports the syntax, but ignores it.

    They have certainly borrowed one of Java's big mistakes - no const qualifications for reference parameters or methods.

    Apart from these problems, I actually kinda like the language. I also like the fact that MS is prepared to open it up to an independent standards process. The shine came off Java for a lot of people when Sun decided to retain propietal control of the language (I don't believe in the Java Community Process anymore than I believe in fairys at the bottom of my garden).
