Re:Pretty Sweet
No he drew almost-everything by hand, tracing the photographs of the models. I thought it was interesting it took the computer 2 minutes to display just 1/24th second of the animation. Slow and time-consuming.
~3 years later computers could do these graphics in realtime:

The 2600 had "Surround" first and IT was the inspiration for the Lightcycles. So Meh.

Re:Very sad
I agree, people don't realise Trek's always been inconsistent with itself. See TOS klingons vs future klingons.
That was sort of explained in the DS9 episode Trials and Tribble-ations. Except they (Klingons) don't wish to talk about it :) -
Re:Babylon 6JMS paid a fine to the Screen Writer's Guild every year because he wrote every episode of B5 himself to keep it consistant.
He didn't write every episode. In the first season, for instance, he wrote 12 of 22 episodes. See eg Babylon 5 logbook or any number of other fan sites.

Re:I see bad things happening...
Actually when CBS aired "Without Warning" in 1994, it was done in the style of a faked news story, they were constantly running crawlers saying "THIS IS NOT REAL" and every commercial break ended with a screen saying the same.
After the show was over and they had the blurb for the 10 o'clock news, the local CBS affiliate in Houston reiterated this because their switchboards were flooded with calls wanting to know what was going on.
It's not the message but the medium... -
Re:Stolen Music?
Oh boy, I thought that was one of those "*Every* Kubrick fan knows *that*" facts.
You can even buy the Alex North soundtrack that was going to be used for "2001" on CD now, so it's not exactly obscure.
Anyway, here is a link and here is another one. -
I can't decide if this was a good or bad thing.Although Star Trek: Enterprise hasn't really rocked at all, it did take a few seasons for TNG to hit their stride. There is a definate problem with focus. Secretly I was hoping they could get Joss Whedon to come in and at least help them map out a story arc over this season and the remaining seasons. Unfortunately, they decided to totally change the premise of the show, make Archer to be some sort of maniac will to do anything to save Earth.
A review at the beginning of the season in USA Today brought up some very good points on the lack of focus in Enterprise. Although Paramount wants you to think they took the show for a dramatic twist this season, nothing really has changed. They are still exploring the unknown, which is what they have been doing the first two seasons. Nothing to see here, move along.
To fix Enterprise they need to:
Be a little more subtle with public commentary. Compare Similitude with TOS's Let That Be Your Last Battleground
More friction among the crew.
Lose the T'Pol-Tucker story line
Slow DOWN THE TRANSPORTER!!!! It's faster than The Original Series'!
There have been a couple good episodes:
And a lot of duds:
A remake of Data's Day: Dear Doctor
An A-Team episode: Marauders
And just a really lame episode: Extinction

Re:Gameplay, Fun vs. Cool and Eye CandyI can't believe you can say high-quality gameplay was the sole focus of developing games with a straight face.
Come now! You really think those guys were just out to make money when they created Oink!?

Re:I hope the DVD includes the original
the episode you are refering to is titled "space seed". FYI Richardo also played Khan Nunien Singh in that episode. It is worth mentioning that in the last scene Spock literaly warns Kirk that some day Khan might escape from seti alpha 5. see http://www.thelogbook.com/log/toslog1.html#tos23

Re:What if...
I can't think of any major science fiction movie where the aliens showed any interest in anything of the Nazis.
On television there was the Star Trek TOS episode with the Nazi planet...

Re:Does anyone else hate its name?
I always thought (and there are quite a few sites like this one that also think it was a mis-translation of "Monkey Kong".
