Re: Why is this news?
Because globalist propaganda is all the rage these days.
The easiest thing in the world is (apparently) to use music and film to convince the unthinking, elitist-left (yes, the left is now the elite in case you missed that) that bigger and more centralized government is somehow "good" for them.
Go ahead and mod me Troll. It's because you're incapable of having a conversation. And because truth hurts. And because propaganda feelz so good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Re:Very hopeful tweet
The wikileaks twitter feed has this item:
Remember how you let Obama "legalize":
- * Assassinating anyone
- * Spying on everyone
- * Prosecuting publishers+sources
-
It's all Trump's in 69 days
This gives me a lot of hope for our future.
Something we really didn't have under Obama (despite it being his tagline).
Ah, your view of the past is such a fantasy, I wonder what delusions of the future lurk in your mask. But in your world, I suppose we've always been at war with EastAsia, and the Chocolate Ration has been increased to 25 grams a week.
I'm actually not sure what will be more likely, Trump giving you your promises, Trump reneging on the promises and frustrating you in your impotent rage at the callous betrayal, or Trump reneging, but you completely buying his excuses, and still leaving you to blame all the dreaded enemies you do now.
Really, anyone? Everyone? At least cut the hyperbole down, surely you can manage that much. It could even be an inspiration to others.

Re:Thanks for that.
While Kennedy Space Center offers the best view of launches (launchpads surrounded by lots of flat land), if you're in California it can be worth it to drive to Vandenberg to view a launch of one of the larger rockets. It's only about 2.5 hours from Los Angeles, 4 hours from San Francisco. The launch pads are on an Air Force base surrounded by hills so you probably won't be able to see the initial liftoff.* But there are several locations which will allow you to see the rocket after it's gained a bit of altitude.
Check the launch schedule to find one you'd like to see. Double-check the week and day before, as launches are frequently postponed. I used my cell phone's data to tap into a live video webstream of the launch on my phone, and output the countdown over my car's speakers for everyone to hear (which also gave us a good indication when to look for the rocket appearing over the hills). Be aware that most of the rockets are liquid fueled, so leave almost no smoke trail (liquid O2 + liquid H2 = H2O or water vapor). If you can catch one which uses solid rocket boosters, those will leave a heavy smoke trail. And these things are fast - it'll be out of sight within a couple minutes, so don't go hoping to keep the kids entertained for a few hours.
* The exception is the SLC-3E pad which is visible from Surf Beach and Ocean Ave, but last time I went for a launch from SLC-3E they had closed off the beach and Ocean Ave. Launches from SLC-6 are also visible from Surf Beach almost immediately after liftoff, though the greater distance makes it less enjoyable. Launches are towards the south and they close off the parks, beaches, and ocean to the south the day of the launch, so don't bother trying those locations. -

Re: I thought Trump hated gays
CNN interviewed one protester in NYC, the studio anchor said he knew that guy and said hi because he was a cameraman on a story CNN did with him in Africa.
Thats right, CNN used their own cameraman to interview to show how upset the protesters were. They forgot to tell the studio anchor and he accidentally outed him by trying to say hi.
You will have to excuse me as I laugh about the protests instead of taking them seriously. CNN is finished.

I've just spent 40 minutes watching shuttle and apollo launch footage. Got to stop followng launch video links.
I too, get completely stuck on rocket launches and space stuff. But isn't the Saturn V a freakin' monster? And the Soyuz is just pretty as a rocket can get.
Check out Amy Shira Teitel's stuff on Youtube. Vintage Space https://www.youtube.com/channe... is a good place to start.

Thiel Supports Transatomic Power MSR
Peter Thiel's Founders Fund is investing in the TAP molten salt reactor. This is one of many promising designs that seek to address the concerns about nuclear and allow it to displace fossil fuels through superior economics. Additionally, the republican platform supports leveling the energy market, solving the Thorium Problem, and enabling development of advanced nuclear:
We support the development of all forms of energy that are marketable in a free economy without subsidies, including coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear power, and hydropower. A federal judge has struck down the BLM’s rule on hydraulic fracturing and we support upholding this decision. We respect the states’ proven ability to regulate the use of hydraulic fracturing, methane emissions, and horizontal drilling, and we will end the Administration’s disregard of the Nuclear Waste Policy Act with respect to the long-term storage of nuclear waste. We encourage the cost-effective development of renewable energy sources — wind, solar, biomass, biofuel, geothermal, and tidal energy — by private capital. The United States is overwhelmingly dependent on China and other nations for rare earth and other hardrock minerals. These minerals are critical to advanced technology, renewable energy, and defense manufacturing. We support expediting the permitting process for mineral production on public lands. We support lifting restrictions to allow responsible development of nuclear energy, including research into alternative processes like thorium nuclear energy.

Yeah, that "tremendous computing power" quote doesn't sound right. Humans are quite able to figure our the algorithm in a few seconds, I don't see why a computer couldn't use a similar algorithm to get the answer while iterating far fewer than "43 quintillion combinations", quickly determining the sequence of moves should be the easiest and quickest part.
The more impressive part is the hardware side, making a custom machine that doesn't tear the cube apart. But unless I'm missing something this strikes me as more of a PR stunt than a serious research project.

Whooooosh!
I liked the original cartoon better.
The cartoon came 9 years after the game.
No, I know for a fact that the cartoon came first, just like how Rubik's Cube was also a spin-off from the cartoon, regardless of how many people argue otherwise!!
(Seriously, yes I *know* the ******* Dungeons and Dragons and cartoon was a spin-off. I knew that thirty years ago when I was ten and had never played D&D in my life. It was a joke I hoped would wind people up- or get them to play along- in a more amusing manner than actually transpired. Whoosh!)
(Actually, I've *still* never played D&D in my life).
(Seriously, I can't believe they actually made a Rubik's Cube cartoon. I only discovered that one recently- don't think they ever showed it in the UK- but.... FFS! At least D&D one had the potential to make sense. The Rubik's Cube one seems like the most contrived attempt at building an animation around the fad least suited to a Saturday morning spin-off....)

Re:Before you act like this is so nefarious...
Are you being serious!? To not know this is to not know the origination story of the 2016 Trump campaign or the driving force behind his wanting to become president
Oh, you mean he treated Obama pretty much like Hillary Clinton treated Obama? You mean one of the many non-issues that the Democratic propaganda machine uses to demonize opponents, first by implying (with plausible deniability) that Obama was foreign, then blaming Republicans for the whole thing?
In any case, you don't seem to understand what the "birther" controversy was about. It wasn't about Obama's actual citizenship (which was a simple legal matter), it was about Obama's foreign vision for America was foreign, that of a European social welfare state and critical race theory. He articulated that in 2012 in "The Life of Julia", something so offensive to people that even MSNBC ripped it apart and Obama has now removed it from his website.
Thanks. Trump established this standard for the president and two days ago the Americans (at least 18% of them) validated it.
People were tired of the racism, divisiveness, and bigotry spread by Obama and Clinton; and they were tired of their foreign wars, constitutional violations, and crony capitalism. They were tired of politicians that believed it was justified to lie to the American people in order to implement policies Americans reject. They were tired of the broken promises. That's why so many voters voted for an inexperienced, rude loudmouth over a bigoted, racist, corrupt liar.
It will probably be impossible to ever convince people like you that your ideas are hurting people; but what the rest of us can do with the 18% of the population that voted for Clinton is to communicate to them in no uncertain terms that we find their bigoted, racist, and selfish views deplorable, and that they shouldn't fool themselves into believing that they have the moral high ground.
Please tell me you are not an American voter and that you did not vote for Trump.
I used to be a registered Democrat and I voted for Obama in 2008. I didn't find either Trump or Hillary to be an acceptable choice in this election.
I could never have voted for Hillary, if not for any other reason than because of her long standing opposition to gay marriage and her subsequent lies about it. But, hey, what's a little homophobia and lying to you, as long as you get free stuff and can wallow in your self-righteousness, right?

I'm hoping to go out like Major Kong in Dr. Strangelove...as for how soon, I'm free this weekend if you've got a nuke handy.

I wish it was obvious
Unfortunately, it is not obvious to the majority of Americans. Most still believe the old wives tale that fat makes you fat, and sugar is healthy in moderation. Just as bad are those that think that HFCS is bad, but sugar is OK, because sugar is natural. There's also the naturalists, that shun HFCS and sugar, but are fine with honey, agave nectar, and fruit juices. The truth: it's all bad.
I myself drank a can of pop a day eight years ago. Then, after watching Dr. Lustig's Sugar: The Bitter Truth on YouTube, someone finally explained to me the science, and I understood. But, I must admit, I still like my soda. I'm down to three cans a week, though I wish I had more self control to make it only one a week.
Yes, we all die. But how do you want to get there, and how soon?

Signs of the times: DEAD END & WRONG WAY
Well I did goof, it's actually clintonemail.com. Funny you didn't mention that. Still, classified docs, non-gov server, so you can't very well leave that part out if you're going to say she didn't mishandle classified info. There are people in jail for less and intentionally negligent is a literal contradiction in terms if you bother to look at the definitions.
Now, I'm not perfect. I never said I was. I just said that I looked at the actual sources of evidence and came to my own conclusions. I don't read media articles for their opinion, I pull the factual statements out of them and then look for their sources. You can tell a whole lot of different stories about the same source material. I don't give a damn about their stories, I care about what facts they can bring to the table. And which ones they forget to mention.
That's why I can and h ave backed up my assertions with sources and facts. You'll never be satisfied with the evidence I put out there, I know that. It doesn't matter. Your problem either that you can't or you won't do the same. You and most others just sit there and insult me and never back a single one of your claims. That's mere contradiction, not argument, you're in the wrong department.
Now, I don't know how things will be in four years and neither do you. All I can tell you is that they're currently heading in absolutely the wrong direction to convince independents like myself. They will, in fact, just harden the opposition. But 4 years is a long time. They could learn their lessons by then. Honestly though? I wouldn't hold my breath, they're already doubling down on the things that helped them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Now then, quick test of your filter bubble: how many references do you understand in this manga? Can you link to the relevant Wikileaks emails for the many references related to it? Can anyone claim to be an informed voter if you don't understand most of those references, even if you vehemently disagree with them? If you can do more than just rage, try proving it to me.

Yes, exactly precisely this. The man has been in front of a TV camera for decades. He's a reality TV star. He knows how to make a false drama engaging. He's very good at it. It doesn't matter if anything he said was true or not, it was entertaining! Who cares if they don't do abortions in the 9th month? Who cares if we've only found about a few dozen actual cases of voter fraud? Play it up! Make it dramatic and absolutely nobody will care.

Re:yes they should
The whole "first past the post" scheme itself has problems also, and IMHO should be ditched while we're at it. CGPgrey has a great explanation of this issue and how to fix it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?... It doesn't completely fix all the issues, fixes several problems, improves some of the remaining issues, and doesn't cause any new problems. Please watch this before responding, I promise you'll enjoy it if you're even remotely interested in the voting process, even if you don't end up agreeing with it by the end,
The Electoral College is the least of your concerns, the main issue I can see is that it's winner takes all and single preference voting which makes any more than 2 parties completely nonviable, and with a population of 320 million I think only having two choices is a bit too limiting. In Australia we have 24 million people and yet we get a lot more choice than you guys get over in the states.
Of course at the end of the day there can be only one winner, and if you had something like ranked choice voting if would be interesting to see if the 6 million votes for third-candidates would flow to Trump or Hillary, potentially changing the result. With ranked choice voting people might engage more with the political process because they can vote for someone who fits their views without fracturing the vote for the nearest major party candidate, which would be a great thing.
-
Re:You're being manipulated
I guess none of the moderators clicked on your 3 links because none of them are even remotely equivalent to what is happening right now. A verbal protest at a college and chair hanging in a tree? Really, you see that as the same as what is happening now? Link some video news stories from 2008 or 2012 of the mainstream media pushing for a riot like I'm seeing tonight on ABC, etc. The MSM meltdown live on election night should be evidence enough that we are being manipulated by their propaganda.
Of course the mainstream media wasn't pushing for a riot because the mainstream, which happens to be the majority of people by definition, didn't want to riot. Their candidate won in 2012. There still were riots though, and with the feet dragging and the refusal to evaluate a nomination for justice, the statement "Republicans accepted Obama" is highly misleading to say the least.
Secondly, as a question of curiosity, who do you consider to be the mainstream media, exactly? There's no malice here, I'm genuinely curious what the Trump supporter's side is. If you don't read mainstream media, then why would you feel like you're being manipulated? And if I evaluate both sides, and then side with the mainstream media, does that also make me manipulated?

Missing one crucial port ... USB 3.0
They needed to include ONE regular USB 3.0 port. There are a zillion devices that fit *inside* a USB port, such as a YubiKey, and nobody wants to carry those $50 security items around on a dongle so that they have to "dongle in" whenever they login. Boooo Hooooo.
I live in CA and I would not vote for something so incredibly stupid. These fucks obviously don't care about the American workforce and fair wages, so maybe they should operate in the 3rd world countries they harvest for labor.
Their "puppet-investment" of -- whom was a massive force behind H1Bs -- couldn't win the election even with the corporate America(China, Saudi, Qutar, etc), Wall Street, World Banks, and all of the major media on their side. Now we're dealing ignorant college kids -- who were expecting free college because they're too stupid to realize that their candidate( which was shoved down our throats as the second coming ) is a Congenital Liar -- on the street armed with their learned-ignorance protesting the new president elect. This is their right and I wouldn't want it any other way. But from the outside, it makes them look like complete IDIOTS for anyone that actually fact-checks outside of the mainstream-media. Wake up you brainwashed tards!
If you want to know why Trump won, watch this video -- it is completely relevant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
