.... in chipmunks.
Chipmunks are members of the same family as the tree squirrel (Sciuridae). There is one species of eastern Chipmunk and twenty species of the western chipmunk. They are located throughout the United States and Canada. Chipmunks have a broad stripe along their back. The eastern chipmunk is larger than the western species, growing to almost 10" in length. They are active in the daytime.
Chipmunks tend to live in forests with plenty of beech and oak trees. You will find them in the area around the edge of the woods. They typically forage on the ground but can climb trees. Chipmunks adapt readily to suburban gardens.
The diet of the chipmunk is primarily plants such as seeds, berries, acorns and other nuts. They will also eat the occasional insect. They are most active gathering food in the fall to store over the long winter. They transport their food through their expandable cheek pouches. They sleep most of the winter waking occasionally to eat the food they stored.
Mating typically begins when the chipmunk emerges from the winter sleep --late February through early April and then again in early summer. They produce two litters a year with four to five young in each litter.
Chipmunks live in burrows. The typical burrow is rather complex with tunnels leading to various chambers. The burrows can be up to a hundred feet of tunnel.
For Ashraf and Saleem
One look at you and I open all my orifices.
I am the child of nature.
Come and look into my eyes
And recall the days when you were embarked
On the odyssey of life.
Every strand of your gray hair
Is laden with the mysteries of life
Wrinkles around your eyes are like fishnet, which have trapped so many
stories and dreams
I want to explore the hidden world of my future through your eyes
Is life really a bridge, thinner than a strand of hair
And sharper than sword which I have to cross.?
Tell me about the secrets of life.
I know the history has been distorted many many many times.
But I shall believe you until I see it otherwise.
Tell me there was no Romeo and Juliet. It was Romeo and Julian
There was no Adam and Eve. There was Adam and Steve.
Taj Mahal was not built for a woman
But was built for a Turkish Mumluk boy by a Mogul king.
What's wrong with that Tell me every thing.
Show me how to do all the asanas
And I promise I wouldn't kill you.
Come fill me up with your knowledge of years gone by and
I shall quench your thirst with my fountain of youth.
Let's live forever.

Return To Castle Wolfenstein Linux Binary Released - Tuesday Nov 27 23:30:38 2001 - Updated by Michael
id Software has released the multiplayer Linux binary for Return To Castle Wolfenstein. The announcement was made in Christian Antkow's .plan file. Big ups to Timothee Besset.
The 4.57M download is available at:
ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/wolf/linux/wolfmp -linux-1.0.b2.x86.run.
Disclosure: I am an employee of Activision, Inc.
Here are the install notes:
I never get to karma whore!I really hate Dan Patrick.
Within hours of the devastating September 11 attacks, Rob "CmdrTaco" Malda was found passed out on his toilet. His shriveled, spent cock was in his right hand, and a Star Wars fan magazine was in his left, complete with cum-splattered centerfold of Jar Jar Binks. Apparently in his ecstasy, he banged his head against the wall and gave himself a concussion.
Mind you, this entire sorry episode occurred while millions worried about their loved ones and the future of their country. The man has no respect.
- but will it run on Linux?
2001-11-28 05:18:45 Wolfenstein Linux client out (articles, news) (rejected)
Did it get rejected because I wrote parts of the "story" in 1337 5p33|?? Because I said "download it here, faggots:"?? Why??? WHY?????
Look, I realize this is off-topic, but the truth is, Slashdot should be addressing things like the following. I sent it in for "Ask Slashdot", but they never posted the story.
You people out there think anilingus is gross or hot? I've been thinking about doing it for my girl, but I want it to be a surprise and I don't know how she'll react. I wanna hear first from the girls about whether or not they like it when a guy does something like that, and then I wanna hear from maybe some of the guys with anilingus experience so I know what I'm getting into here. I fully expect this to get modded down as offtopic or a troll, but whatever... I just need a few viewpoints from people who have already gone down this path.
Thanks a lot to anyone who answers.

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO TAAD
Imagine a time when the word "troll" was taboo in the media- a time when your newspaper had blatantly trollophobic stories on the front page and the entertainment industry didn't give a second thought to negatively portraying trolls on television or in motion pictures- a time when trolls were otherwise invisible in the media. This was all occurring less than ten years ago, before the formation of the Troll Alliance Against Defamation (TAAD).
TAAD's impact on the media is far-reaching. Not only has TAAD changed the way that trolls are portrayed on the screen and in the news, TAAD has also become a major source of information for decision makers in both the entertainment and news media. In 1992, Entertainment Weekly named TAAD as one of Hollywood's most powerful entities and The Los Angeles Times described the group as possibly the most successful organizations lobbying the media for inclusion. TAAD has not only reached industry insiders, but has also impacted millions through newspapers, magazines, motion pictures, television and visibility campaigns.
Because of TAAD's work, we now read about troll lives in cover stories of national publications and see troll relationships on slashdot. Negative and imbalanced portrayals of the community have decreased while trolls have been increasingly incorporated in every type of media portrayal-- from geekizoid to slashdot. We have seen prominent karma whores come out of the closet, elected officials appoint trolls to high level government positions, and laws passed to protect trolls from discrimination. Because of TAAD's work, more trolls are proud of who they are.
TAAD was formed on the Internet in 1997 and began by protesting Slashdot moderator's blatantly offensive and moderated stories about trolls. Its mission was to improve the public's attitudes toward trolling and put an end to negative moderation and discrimination against trolls. The Kiroshin chapter was formed in 2000, and early on began to educate Hollywood's entertainment industry on the importance of more accurate and realistic portrayals on the screen. Subsequent chapters have been formed in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, San Diego, San Francisco and National Capital Area.
In the beginning, battles were hard-fought. It wasn't until 1999, after a meeting with TAAD, that Slashdot changed its moderation policy to use the word "troll." Two years later, TAAD led a successful campaign to reverse geekizoid's policy against listing trolls in obituaries and a meeting with The Los Angeles Times resulted in a new style-book chapter about the use of derogatory terms for trolls. TAAD did not obtain its first meetings with studios and television producers until after an ad campaign ran in the entertainment trades in 1999.
In 1999, the New York and Los Angeles chapters merged to form a national organization that would allow TAAD not only to continue its work with the major news and entertainment media, but would also allow it to work with more local media across the country through the creation of Media Resource Centers. In 2000, joining offices in Slashdot and Kiroshin were Media Resource Centers in Goatse.cx and Islamway.com, as these chapters merged with TAAD.
TAAD's Mission Statement
The Troll Alliance Against Defamation (TAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of individuals and events in all media as a means of eliminating trollophobia and discrimination based on slashdot identity and karma.
In pursuit of its mission, TAAD focuses on five main strategies
1. To organize troll community to respond to negative and positive portrayals of our community in media through the Monitoring and Mobilization program
2. To work directly with media professionals to improve their understanding of the troll community by providing accurate information and offering seminars as part of the Outreach to Media Professionals program
3. To work with troll organizations and individuals to refine and expand their understanding of the media and skills needed to work with them by offering training interventions and technical assistance through the Community Skills Building and Outreach program
4. To promote troll visibility by designing and implementing public education campaigns with troll posts.
5. To study and articulate cultural and media-specific trends, issues, and controversies to inform the work of TAAD and other organizations through its Research and Analysis program.
There is a serious problem with the slashdot editors. Jon Katz in particular has a habit of hunting down young boys and "docking dicks" with them, where hi places his chaps head next to the other guys, and rolls the other guys foreskin over his own head to fantasize about actually having his own foreskin. He also does this with much of the other Slashdot team, (except Jamie, since he also has Jewish credentials)
This is disgusting.

if you explain what it is I can tell you if I've done it..
For obvious reasons.
Not to mention, Wolfenstein is about $60! Linux users don't pay for software either.
Most Linux users have a Windows box for other games, word processing, financial applications, web browsing with IE, and looking at porn, so why not just use that for Wolf too?

Someone? Are they at least planning a single player binary?
This release isn't quite as nice as some of iD's past Linux offerings. First, this release only works for the multiplayer portion of the game. The single player portion is said to be supported in a later release, but who knows how long that will take. Second, you must use either wine or an actual windows installation to install this thing. Apparently it has to do with how the CD was put together, it's just one big EXE from which all the PAK files are extracted. So you must run the windows installer under wine so you can get the PAK files, so you can finally install the Linux binary. Seems like quite a hassle to me, I would really hate to install wine just so I could run one game natively under Linux. Apparently the people at Tuxgames are working on setting up some sort of linux installer. But what options do they really have? The way I see it they could either set up some sort of mini-wine distribution on their installation CD to extract the data from the EXE, or find out the compression scheme that this EXE uses and hack together some native linux program to get the PAK data out. Either way, it doesn't sound like a lot of fun.
Linux Castle Wolf rocks, but be aware of the following limitations:
1) The current binaries are multiplayer full version only. No single player.
2) The game must be installed under Wine or Windows. Which sucks...
Now for the interesting bit:
Everyone will love you if you fix this piece of software (or make your own) to work with modern Wise Installer archives.
The Wolf3D CD contaisn a 500MB win32 setup.exe file in which the necessary pak files for the linus install go. Thsi is in wise installer format, which is similar to zip with different headers. Coders - if you can work out a way of extracting this archive under Linux, you have my external respect and the love of Linux Gamers everywhere. It should be pretty easy from my research (the software mentioned is non free qmail license source code) for someone with the skills, but I'm still teaching myself Kernighan and Ritchie.
Can you use this to run the demo, or is that single player only? If so, is there any way to demo it under Linux yet?
I have to admit I don't know a lot about Loki (I'm not a Linux user), but weren't Loki in very dire conditions business wise not very long ago, that might make working on Wolfenstein not an option for them?
The Lokigames site shows their latest two works as Postal and Heavy Metal FAKK 2 - neither are 'big names', highly sucessful or new releases.
I found another mirror, FTP and HTTP. Enjoy it, 'cause WolfMP on Linux is a real killer - I mean it works very well :) I hope the SP part will be avaiable soon !

Since everyone one says you cant play the SP from the cd has anyone tried just copying over the files from a windows install? i dont have the game yet so i cant try.
Go you Huskies.
"This release doesn't contain the single player binaries of the game. The menu command to switch to single player is present in the interface, but it is completely inoperant. "
Plus you have to install the bugger on a Win partition.
People who are interested in video games look for video gaming news on "video game based boards". Just because a new update to a video game is released doesn't really warrant it as "breaking news" or "stuff that matters". But still, it gets posted here. And I read it here first. I'm a moderately advid gamer, and I get all my news from slashdot, what does that say?
Go ahead and mod me down, I'm still asleep and am opt to ramble anyhting at this point.
It should read something like the following...
Dear Sirs,
I humbly bow down at your feet, for thou hast graced upon we humble followers of the Linux faith, another one of the greatest games of all time.
We of the Linux faith understand that you will be compensated in no way whatsoever for your efforts to provide we few with the pleasure of playing your games, so I must reiterate how greatful we truly are.
Sincerely,
Whiny bitch
P.S. And if you have time, do you think it would be possible for someone to write an installer? But only if you're feeling really generous. If not, that's ok, I'll just use wine to install it, I am an intelligent Linux user afterall, so it's no problem for my whiny ass.
P.P.S. My humble thanks again.
And if they still don't write an installer, you STFU and use wine to install it and thank the Linux Gods that there are people on this earth who do things even when it doesn't help them in any way. And do so quickly before you anger the Linux Gods and the folks at ID for being so unappreciative.
Damn... you'd think people could appreciate things once in a while...
Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken - Tyler Durden
'cause I don't plan on downloading, but I'd just like to give a little thanks to id and Raven (didn't Raven develop RTCW?) for being such good supporters of the Linux commmunity. I do believe id is the only game development company in the world that will make a game readily available to Linux users without the game first being a huge hit (although I'm sure RTCW will be a huge hit, at least in sales).
It means a lot that they are this willing to put in the extra effort. Thanks, id.
My sigs always suck.
"There is no market for Linux games, no matter how many posts you see on /."
Hmm. No market even if we ask for it.
how do we win?!?!
Graeme, where are the Mac OS X binaries? :) I took my iBook to the parents' for Thanksgiving and really wanted to play some Wolfenstein on it. Unfortunately, the harddrive on my mother's E-machine didn't have enough free space to install Wolf. :(
I have a website. It's about Macs.
RMS=JUDE
It may suspiciously look like Quake except the monsters will have crudely edited nazi helmets and machine guns.
I can now go out and buy the game :) I wasn't gonna get it until a Linux port was avaiable. I played the multi-player test for a while, which got boring, becuase I played it everynight for a month :)
:)
I have read some people complaining about the installation. Yes, it sucks, but at least they ported it. Durring the initital talks about RTCWS, they said there wouldn't be a Linux port. Not even the current binary download.
Be happy they changed there minds.
If ID Software is saying they just barly broke even on Q3A for Linux, why don't they have both versions on the CD ? Then just have the server browser detect the OS its running on for stats and what not. I think that in it self would help move more people to Linux.
Games on Linux is a large reason why people aren't switching. Loki games has done a *VERY* good job at it so far. There installation program that they GPLed, is being used in some cool places. For example, all Borland products released on Linux use it
If they would only port Everquest to Linux, you would have a swarm of people switching to 100% Linux.
At any rate, thanks ID and (Gray matter is it ?) for the Linux port.
until (succeed) try { again(); }
I bought the Windows version last week and I played so much multiplayer over the weekend that I just about hurled on my monitor.
Yesterday I showed some friends multiplayer RTCW under Linux and for many of them I think it was the first time that they have ever contemplated Linux as a gaming platform.
The game rocks. I'm your humble servant!
i mean, watching thousands of people you dont know
die on tv has got to be hard on a guy, and what
better way to deal with ones problems
than jerking off to queen amidala?
maybe this is why he kept the banner ads up all through the
week. even though every major news network
had no commercials, even MTV. a hell of alot of websites didnt either.
but seeing as how he was passed out on the toilet, i guess
i can understand why he didnt take down the banner ads.
how the fuck can i respect your ass?
you are nothing but an uncle-moderator.
you bastard.
I suspect it might be linked to the fact that RTCW seems to request both the server port (which is normal) and a specific client port (which is rare). Ie- port 27960 on both client and server. This might be interferring with ip masquerading. I'm not sure. Anyone get it going?
I've been playing this game using WineX for days now. With the latest CVS they fixed the .05 second sound delay, and it's a welcome improvement.
Get your ass over to www.transgaming.com, download the source, build and install it, then play one of the best games of the year.
See you in the trenches!
Hey everyone,
Do what I did (if you are a RtCW gamer). It takes less than 5 minues, and you will feel good about it.
Go to their web site. Go to the "Contact" page, and send them an email thanking them for their contribution. I know if I was a developer, and I got a few emails saying thanks, it would really be a nice thing. So, say thank-you from the Linux community. They didn't have to do this, they chose to.
Moon Macrosystems. Sun's biggest competitor.
I read your suggestion and poured White Zinfadel on my CD. It doesn't work now. Should I have used a red?
Does it run under FreeBSD? It would be nice
to have a native binary, but if not, has anyone
tried it under emulation?
Now you can play it on the road too - Wolf 3D has been ported to the PocketPC!
http://www.pocketgamer.org/archives/00000574.shtml
The binaries for ARM devices will be released tomorrow
Hmmm...
According to various reports, RTCW works in WineX quite well (a 4 out of 5, which means that probably is some *minor* at worst irritants. This is also the same rating as a lot of good games such as Diablo II.) This off of transgaming's site... of course, YMMV.

I don't believe I've ever blocked an ad that didn't blink at me first. When my 200mhz K6, a fairly fast machine at the time, was brought to its knees by javing two (2) web pages open at the same time (java disabled), I put in junkbuster. Now it's just habit bo block anything that blinks at me.
