Geeky Child Names?

I dunno, but my second son is gonna be called Skeletor.
My wife and I have "Kira" marked down as the name of a future daughter - it is short, it doesn't sound artificial, and it is far more unique then, say, Betty or Jackie. We're stumped for good names for boys, though.
One of my all time favorite names, though I can't actually stand the guy, is "Wolf Blitzer". Now that is pretty cool.
How about Saxifrage? It can be abbreviated to 'Sax'.
For those who don't know, its from the terraforming scientist in KSR's Red/Green/Blue mars series.
I've seen the nick Saxifrage registered on some webboards (like space.com's discussion board), but he hasn't been posting lately.
I just think the name is awesome.

There was a book I read years ago, called "The Ultimate Computer" or something along those lines, and the two hackers in the story went by the handles WORM and SMIK ... for some reason the system was limited to four characters, and words beginning with M were reserved or something like that. SMIK was for "super Mike", IIRC.
Does anyone else remember this?

My oldest daughter's name is Adrienne, but we call her Ada for short at least half the time. I'm the only one in the family that knows who Ada Lovelace was, so I had to explain to my wife why I was so fond of the short name, Ada. Also, once upon a time I was a US DoD programmer writing code in Ada. Still have fond memories of the language.
Kevin Smith named his daughter Harley Quinn.. After The Joker's sidekick, not the motorcycle.

The popular gorilla exhibit at Boston's Franklin Park Zoo features a baby female gorilla named Kira .. It's still a nice name, but perhaps that's something you would want to know!
The perfect name is "Highlander", possibly with a middle name of Connor or Duncan (Depending on your preference.) This will work especially well if you're last name is MacLoed.

I have a dog (A Boston Terrier, photos on my website) named Darwin Charles Loukas, after Charles Darwin. My other dog is named Pepper Two Draper. I had a dog named Pepper when I was a kid. If the Atreides can always have a Duncan Idaho, then I will always have a Pepper.
Future dogs not named Pepper will be named after other scientists. I have Maxwell Clerk Loukas (after James Clerk Maxwell) and Bruno Giordano Loukas (after Giordano Bruno) already reserved. When I need more names, I'll just draw from the large number of scientists with neat names.

We named our oldest son Jovian, king of the planets. I want to see him go to the stars, since I probably won't. This seemed a good way to get him interested in it early on.

Lucidly titled Acturarial note 139, it is a summary of names given to children in the US by year, based on SSN applications (need the SSN to claim them as deductions, so most get them as newborns now). Just pick things at the bottome or not on the list.
Then, don't tell anyone until it's committed to a birth certificate. People steal.

Da5id, Y.T., Hiro, Wintermute, Count Zero, Berry / Rydell, Colin / Laney, Chevette, etc. (Just finished re-reading Gibson's ATP) Basically anything from Gibson, Sterling, Stephenson, Rucker, Brunner, etc., etc. It can even be a normal name (maybe the same as an author instead of a character?) and still be geeky to you.
Zowie Bowie is David Bowie's *son*, thought I believe he prefers to be called Duncan Jones. He could have chosen any name, but he chose "Duncan".
When Marc Bolan heard the David Bowie named his son Zowie, he liked the idea so much that he called his son Rolan Bolan.
Whenever I can't think of a good name I just go with the classic foo or foo.bar().

I named my son (now 19 months) "Gabriel Knight".... big name to live up to (think of the angel, and the knights of the old code).
My cat's name is Tika, named after Tika Waylan Majere in the Dragonlance Chronicles and my other cat is Motorhead, after the infamous band of the same name.
