If it is necessary to have a backdoor, it should only be enabled temporarily via a switch/hardware button (in the case that the admin password was forgotten).
I.e. in order to get in through the backdoor, you need to hold down a button for 10 seconds, and the login will be enabled for the next 2 minutes (which should be enough time to change the admin pw if it is forgotten). This would require that the site be physically secure; however would prevent those from remotely accessing the backdoor (unless someone is actually there to hit this 'switch).
Agreed, I learned years ago in a psych class that 'subliminal' audio and video have no effect.. However, hypnosis does work if you allow yourself to 'go under'.
If you were to buy Windows XP Home edition, isn't it like $199? I understand large OEM's get it cheaper.. but that's a big diff. In any case, it's not worth that much.
A good way of chunking 'a string of thousands of 1s and 0s' would be simply to convert it to Hexidecimal. A string of 1024 bits can easily be compacted into 64 hexadecimal characters. Maybe if you're lucky you'll have it spelling things like DADA D00D F00D 1234
Chances are it won't be that easy, but you get the idea..
Similarly, most people thing their fingers are only capable of counting to 10. But how many of us think to use our fingers to count in binary to reach 1024 (2^10) possible values?
I don't see why people can't just build encoders for MP3s to essentially warp the psycho-acoustical properties to bypass detection, then decode it after downloading.
They will most likely require entirely new sockets as they are 64bit chips, as opposed to 32 bit.
The 32e means its an extended version of the machine/assebly code modified from IA32 to work on 64bit processors and still have backwards compatibility.
Sorry, my comment probably deserves to be trollworthy.. but I just had to point this out.
A fatal flaw on a resume would be a spelling mistake, similar to the one made by the parent with the misspelling of the word 'hence':
"If there were fatal flaws on the resume, you won't get the interview and, hense, won't be able to explain them away."
BTW.. did anyone see that lame pic on the home page of www.lin---s.com ? its a hangman with all the letters of the alphabet crossed out except for D O and W.
It actually does prevent Jamming.. although not 100% immune, it definitely should be able to prevent jamming by those pocket things, as they would not be able to generate enough power to jam a DSSS/FHSS signal.
The Direct Sequence Spread Spectrub avoids jamming by using such a wide band that it would take a shitload of power to jam such a wide spectrum.
Frequency hopping prevents jamming by making the frequency change every few milliseconds, as a result, if a particular frequency gets jammed, only a few milliseconds of data need to be resent.
FYI, it is my understanding that Spread Spectrum technologies, such as CDMA (Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) and Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum over GSM are designed to prevent jamming.
Spread Spectrum was developed in WWII specifically for that purpose. Only recently were the documents declassified for use in such systems.
All CDMA phones should be able to avoid jamming, and GSM carriers who make use of frequency hopping should also be able to avoid this.
You may as well go and buy coke off the streets, as according to the article:
"So the brains of people deeply in love do not look like those of people experiencing strong emotions, but instead like those of people snorting coke."

I did a wc on these 12 points, its exactly 103 words (not fewer).
Its about time the US declared a war on computer terrorism, such as spam and free CD attacks against innocent civilians.
Its about time we liberate the people at Microsoft from Bill Gates' plans to take over the world; just like was done in Iraq and Afghanistan recently.

Shouldn't the title of the story read "SCO - EV1L, ....."?

How stupid.
Yay... Lets all slashdot msn.com!

Anything that's GPL/true Open Source that works for Linux should be able to be recompiled in another Unix-based (i.e. BSD based) OS like OSX
You think his/her cell phone will have that Jenny tune as a ringtone?
Its called being a karma whore.
There was always capability to do such things with bluetooth.. I guess there's a larger market to doing it via the cell netowrk rather than bluetooth.
Some may want to take a look at this link.. something similar has been around for a recent while. Jestertek PointOfView
If my 20" LCD monitor can do 1600x1200 why is it that a 61" can't do 4 times the resolution?
Sorry, this was the link to the video
