Well it sounds more ominous then the term "Good marketing".
Apples Marketing method is to come up with an idea, then they show you how to use that idea to make your life better. How other tech companies do it, they show what features they have, thinking the end user will know how to utilize them to make their lives better.
Apple isn't lying about its products or its features, however they are giving a use case scenario that may not match what people actually do, but they tell the story so well that people see themselves in such a scenario long enough for them to buy the product. They knew what they got and what they are getting into, it is just their lives didn't match what they thought they will be using the product for.
The other method, we see features and we may or may not tie them into a benefit. So the more advanced product just doesn't seem appealing.
The "National Security" Loophole in our legal system. I am less annoyed with Trump, but the Republican "Leadership" who is looking the other way and explaining away why all good points of the Republican Ideal is systematically being destroyed.
I use to be a Republican, however the party in the past 18 years had slowly empowered the worst in their party, and discredited the moderate voices in the party as not being conservative enough, or American enough.
I am all for Lower Taxes, Religious Liberties, Open Trade, and reasonable regulations. I am not for Lowering Taxes without finding a way to pay for needed services. I am not for allowing for people of different faiths or none to be openly discriminated against, or bullied into thinking they are in the wrong. I am not for Trading harmful goods, or allowing trading partners to play by a different sets of rules. I am not for just getting rid of regulations because they are there and may be hard to follow.
The debate has moved from logical reasons for taking policy, to attacking ways of life, that we as Americans should feel feel to follow whatever way of life we feel that we should follow.
I used to be a Republican, I didn't leave the party, the party rejected me and left me on my own. In the two party system right now the Democrats, are no more centrist then the Republicans are. However they are more rational on views. And currently voting for a Democrat means more likly I am going to vote for someone who would be willing to put the greater good in front of their own ego.
A good dark mode is easier said then done. For a Holiday team it was a rather easy trick to switch the colors around, however there will be that one odd feature that will have the wrong colors that will not show up right in a dark mode. For Halloween as a seasonable option any bugs or annoyances are set aside as just some quirky fun that you can roll back when you want to be serious.
The Graphical User Interface Macintosh, XWindows, MS Windows. for the past 35 years have favored a light theme for the UI. Black Text on a white background, as part of the WYSIWYG design, figuring most of the content you see on the computer will be printed on white paper. The reason why OS/X, Windows, and GNOME/KDE all use similar colors and themes until recently is because there is decades of research and trial and error to show what goes best on this light theme. Now in the past couple of years, we have moved away from printing stuff all the time, and most of the content is on a screen of some sort. This means the Dark theme makes more sense, allowing the glow of the bright letters making them bolder and easier to read, vs, the glow of the background, making the fonts thinner in appearance. Old screens with the 72dpi this isn't so bad, as a single pixel is big enough to be seen, and the glow of the background, will not overpower the pixels black. But on the new high dpi screens, the glow of the white can cover your pixels viability. So a dark theme is needed.
Now we are in Dark theme, we need to find what work viably, looks attractive, and doesn't scream goth playground.
We lost refining and forging capacity because the companies decided not to keep up and improve. Other countries had made a competitive product and these companies just relied on Made in the USA as their only selling point.
While it may not be against the law for AT&T to block a site. It does have to contend with Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile who would be more then willing to show that AT&T are blocking sites while they are not. This why the world didn't end when Net Neutrality was repealed. If these companies just started restricting sites, people would notice, and switch to those who do not.
How does an economic model affect the brutality of the police? Communist countries have a reputation of brutal police crackdowns as well with many other economic models.
Perhaps the problem is the economic model but some other factor. Such as groups trying to enforce their power over others.
The economy is actually quite strong. And it was strong for the past 6 years. However policy is still treating it like it is in a recession and not investing into safety nets for when it drops again. Also we are starting trade wars for no real good reason. Which the countries are responding in a more targeted attack that may not hurt the entire economy as much but the states that unwisely voted for trump. Any country cannot fight off the entire US economy, but they can hit particular states rather hard. They know targeting the Tech sector will mostly effect people who mostly voted for Clinton. But agriculture, Automotive... that will get the area which would hurt the idiot who started the trade war in the first place.
I have found this to be generally true. But “in general” they are exceptions a lot of them. A tech worker who started in the 1980s or 1990s who found that they had a niche where they excelled in may have stayed in that niche while technology moved on they then find themselves hopelessly out of date. However others at the same age and experience may have had their career more flexible they may not had been the star in the niche but good enough, however they would keep up on what is going on and being interested in what’s new. These people are actually valuable assets as their experience combined with the new stuff really has a value where mistakes that seem to reoccur with new tech can be caught and worked around.
Actually the real problem is most homes are not wired for DC power. The plugs in the wall are designed for high powered appliances like Vacuum cleaners, Air Conditioners, Fans, Mixers, and Incandescent light bulbs. Most of the devices we plug in today are DC power. So we need a rather large brick to convert the AC current to DC at the correct levels, and safety.
If homes and offices were wired for DC plugs (Say the High Power USB Standard) then we wouldn't need such bricks, and wouldn't need to carry around these devices that are heaver then the devices we are actually wanting to use. I expect if homes has a Single AC to DC converter then we would probably on the average save a lot of energy as well.
However in the mean time, either get an Extension cord to give some space for the brick and room for an other plug, or deal with it.
The classic Who had the problem that these stories needed to last 3 or more episode in length (each episode was 1/2 hour) vs 1 hour today. This put in a lot of filler with the bad guys drinking tea, or just normal office politics. A lot of it didn’t do much to the story except express the bad guys weren’t actually evil people but just doing shortsighted or evil things.
1. Doctor Who cannon had time lord (the fictional species that Doctor Who is) regeneration where Sex change was a possibility. It was casually brought up in the old series. Then in the new series with the start of the Matt Smith Doctor he first thought he regenerate into a woman because of his long hair. Then The Master (a reoccurring villain who is also a Time Lord) had regenerated into a woman. Then a random Time Lord General had the same thing. Writers have been preparing the viewers for this for over a decade. 2. I work in a teaching hospital about 2/3 of the student are women who are going to be doctors. Also male nurses are on the rise and are being more common.
Have you seen modern farming? Farming today is far more advanced then most industries including the tech industry. Land is mostly a fixed cost. A small farm can have a hundred acres. That is a lot of land for one person to manage. And if they want to distribute water, feed, pesticides, check on crop quality. A small farm will need probably a dozen people doing heavy labor. Or they can get automation tools which allows the farmer to manage crops much better. Farms had thing such as self driving tractors for decades now, robotic irrigation systems, big data sources to track weather and sell their goods.
It is often because no one like to listen to them. Or the parts that have findings that oppose your political view. For example most economists support a progressive tax structure which the rich person pays more percentage of tax. However there shouldn’t be corporate tax. Being that the money will eventually end up in a persons ownership and will be taxed at a rate they can afford. But the Business process shouldn’t be taxed until people get paid. This economic hypothesis will not sit well with most politicians and wouldn’t be policy.
I am in New York. They are phasing out the white plates back to the yellow ones. However you can keep the white ones, as long as you can transfer them to an other car. The yellow ones which cost more, are also of a cheaper build quality and I am seeing many of them starting to flake off.
There are find my car apps for your phone which you say I parked here. Then when you go where is my car it will show you where to go. These apps are free. And all bumper stickers do is annoy other people.
The real trick is what is considered moderation and excess.
For some things like smoking, the level that is safe if probably too low for people to get the enjoyment out of it, so it isn't worth trying.
Also our body is in constant conflict on what it needs to survive all the time. We need to breath Oxygen to keep those chemical reactions running, However we need to have foods that have anti-oxidents as to slow down these reactions as to prolong our life.
Fats are good, however we don't need too much of them, are still bad. It is still a caloric rich ingredient, which is why we like the taste, thus why we like cream and sugar added to coffee. We have evolved to want to eat the most caloric rich foods we can, this was because Calorie Rich foods were expensive, in terms of effort for calorie. It wasn't until we can process food with machines where we were able to ingest more calories then what we used.
Sugar is nearly all calories, cream has a lot of calories, but mixed with other nutrients. But still we need disciplined moderation of such foods.
When you put in Cream and Sugar in it. I expect you counteract many of its positive effects. Like with a lot of healthy foods, you should be ingesting it without other ingredients.
Being that Tesla is a publicly traded company, they probably would had to report a lower expected production (again) and that will normally hit the stock price.
The self imposed deadline, was a way of measuring what they can do and work up too.
Professional Image Standard can say a lot about the company. If a Guy was dressed in street clothing to a delivery to the Himalayas it is Amazon saying to the customers, "We are delivering this to use as a favor from us, you got your stuff so you should be happy." Vs. Having it delivered with a professional image, which says "We value you as a customer, and are willing to go the extra mile for you."
In the past I have ordered some goods, and it went to some third party shipping company, So I got a 70 lbs Sun Workstation (in the year 2000 and it came with a monitor too) shipped to me from some guy in the back of flatbed truck, with some disheveled delivery guy. I paid over 3k for this computer, I was expecting a little more professionalism on getting it. Granted they boxes were in clean order and no damage. But it gave me a bit of a sour taste in my mouth from it.
However in the city theee is a lot of employee turn around. That employing manager at company X in 6 months can be a hiring manager at company Y. He may have left X for Y for the same reasons why you didn’t like X. However he may remember your name and link it to the lack of professionalism, then portray his story to others. I work in an average size city, when I switch jobs I tend to run into people who I have worked with in the past.
Normally hospitals will follow best practices to reduce infections. When they pay attention to them and enforce these rules hard, infection rate on patients go way down. The biggest concern with this technology is the fact it is a lot of money for a marginal benefit, and could give organizations a false sense of security and be more lax on their practices.
Being the useful span of the iPhone is normally about 4-5 years. Every 4 or 5 years Apple comes out with a multi-colored phone often for the "Kids"

Teenage one: Me, space, Me, space, Me, space, space, Me
Teenage two: space, Me, space, Me,space, Me, space, space

There isn't much listening or conversation just people talking about themselves and being quite waiting for the other to finish.
