I like this.. This would solve many of the problems I have with putting a computer near my stereo.. I don't have any space near it... SOmething small like this would be very very cool..
One feature I would like to see is the possiblilty of "multiple channels", so that I could stream several channels at once.. So my GF, who likes country, can listen in the livingroom, and I can listen to my stuff in the basement, without having a computer at each location...
I wouldn't say all numbers... You can obviouly eliminate numbers that end in 0,2,4,5,6, and 8, since they are even, and/or divisible by 5. So already, you've reduced the set by 60%.
America's Job Bank, run by the gov. Has all the jobs from the departments of labor around the US. Plus other gov jobs, and alot of private industry. There's alot of crossover from moster and dice and the like, but some stuff thats not on either of those. Plus, its one of the few that has virtually every single type of job out there.
On the down side, the interface is horrible. But that will be changing soon..Don't bother with Job Scout, it doesn't work right.
Ironicly, the company that runs the website (ClearBlue, formally AppliedTheory) laid me off in January. (don't worry, I recently found other employment.)
Good luck in your job search (now I feel like spam)
Well, not get rid of, but make it less profitable..
We know that they generate their lists from scrapping websites like slashdot, netnews, and other communication channels..
WHat if we were to suddenly generate millions of fake email accounts, on non-existant domains.
With this, we less even more the possibility of someone actaully buying/reading the spam.. For example, if they have 1 million eemail addresses, and say 2 of those one million take the bait, then if we flood the list with another 1 million address, they're hit ratio goes down. Less hits, less profit.
The other thing this does is increase the amount of time and bandwidth necessary to send the emails. Since all our made up emails have bad domains, does it take a second or 2 to timeout? Slows them down.
And by non-existant domains, I dont mean aaa@thisREMOVETHISsucks.com... I mean stuff that could be a possible email address. like aaa@hungry-for-food.com or something.
Maybe if we flood the newsgroups and websites with completely bad info, we can make it not worth it for the spammers..
Actaully, NY state had a scratch off lottery game "Tax Free Million".. They would pay the federal/state tax for you, so you actaully got $1 million cash. I checked their website, but they don't seem to have it anymore... A quick google shows other states have it too.
Wow.. You made me actaully try and think of Sean Connery as Superman.. Superman w/ a british accent.. That would be...... Umm.. Cool? Or how about a Superman w/ 007 type toys? Hmmmm..
I have to agree about Sprint's coverage in upstate NY. With Sprint, I had to stand outside my house, on the hood of my car to get any reception. And this is only 15 minutes away from downtown Syracuse.
Verizon on the otherhand has a decent signal, and I don't have to even go outside.....
A while back I found an app called xmacro. Just a simple app to send mouse clicks and such. If you can't find a package to do what you want, you might be able to roll your own from it.
Lake Erie.
For those not in upstate NY, look up "lake effect snow" and Oswego, NY.
(for the record, I'm in Syracuse)
Heh.. All I picture is Clippy with a Soviet military hat on, with a AK47 or somesuch (not a gun person..)
Actaully, MS will just patent Darkness.
Simple..
If it takes 650Megs to store 74 minutes of music, at 50%, it should only take 325Megs.
325M x 325CD's = 105625Megs, or 105.625Gigs
This of course is an approximation, since sometimes the compression is better/worse..
When you get 10 inches of snow one afternoon, you need it to get out of your parking spot.
Hello and welcome to upstate NY.
It might even be a significant cost savings as a PC is actually a bit of an overkill for a MAME machine.
Overkill? Tell that to the 166 I tried using to play elevator action.....
I'm lucky enough to have one of these old cards.. Someone was throwing out an old computer that was fried and snagged it...
I currently use it in an MP3 machine... Sound 10x better than the SBLive I had in there before..

(I would do straight perl, but I'm perl drainbramaged.....)
Is there anything out there for linux similar to Sonic Foundry's Acid???? I haven't seen anything like it yet....
This coming from someone who's never been through a NY winter. Thick coats winter coats man...
(Just to clarify, I'm from "upstate" (really central NY) )...
Just imagine what BrainFuck would say.......

As honest as it can get..

Too much time on my hands - Styx
... I just want some way to turn off that damn buzzer.
You know, I really hate this changing of the EULA... It should be illegal. Its their fault that they screwed up and had it insecure...
This is like Ford issuing a recall, then changing your lease/puchase agreement when you bring it in for the recall...

Awesome! Now I'll never be bothered by speed bumps, I can just step over them!
Oh wait...

Since my other post was under a bunch of score:1 posts:
m sc ratch.txt
To compile your own 3.1 Java (wahoo, a JVM w/ optimizations!)

Also, you CAN get flash to work, there's a post in gentoo's message boards on how to do this:

Hope this helps.
