    Why isn't, then, the dark matter shaped like a disk, similar to a galaxy, rather than a sphere, as the OP states?

    As I recall, it's because the orbital velocities of regular stars in disk-shaped galaxies suggest that dark matter is distributed spherically around the galactic center rather than concentrated in the disk. That implies that unlike brown dwarfs, dark matter interacts neither with normal matter nor itself by any force other than gravity.

    But isn't gravity what ultimately gives galaxies their shape? Your statement makes it sound as if there are two types of gravity, the one that forms galaxies from non-dark matter, and the gravity between dark and non-dark matter.

    Having that out of the way, I'd like to comment that in Russia dashboard-mounted cameras that film 24/7 are nothing new. They are in fact so common, expat Russians are spreading that habit in near-by countries. That's how some almost all (or all?) those recent awesome meteorite videos came to be.

    I don't know about Fedora (not a user), but OpenSUSE has had an utterly super-simple and super-smooth install for several years, now. I think you have the best chance of installing (Open)SUSE on a problematic system, than any other Linux distro.

    Yeah, well, I'll just go ahead and disagree with you: Android uses the Linux kernel, hence it's a Linux distribution, albeit a very specific one (it has a different userland from most other distros).

    The bicycle is one of the most efficient forms of transportation ever made, in terms of distance traveled per energy put in. I rode a bike pretty much exclusively in college, and in a flat town, it's less work than walking. Pedal, coast. Pedal, coast. Pedal, coast.

    In Finland, the semi-official figure is, you consume 5x as many calories walking the same distance, as you would if you cycled at 17 km/h.

    Perhaps, but it is more likely that the device could be programmed via a JTAG port.

    From our point of view you should be trying to figure out how to change your society so that you don't need guns, rather than trying to advocate more of them. You are treating the symptom, not the cause.

    With the social/economical inequality that has been growing in the US (and WILL continuously grow), the US is going to experience Brazil-levels of violence.

    Of course, this does still not affect the upper 1%. They will be safe. And since they are the one with the real power, nothing will change. Bookmark this post and read it 5 years from now.

    Straw man: nobody gives a shit about the computers Microsoft sells. The whole point is that Microsoft wants to restrict the options of consumers in which OS they can boot on their computers, regardless if made by Asus, HP or Lenovo.
