  11. Why is it student's issue??? on Why Are Students Liable for School Insecurity? · · Score: 1

It's much easier to put the blame on Games, TV's and the students themselves, rather than parents and administrations to take responsibilty.

Besides, what are the kids going to do?? They're not adults and they have to do what they tell them.

The violence in games is now the center of attention. Years ago it was movies that people pointed the blame to.

BLAME EVERYTHING else but the parents, teachers or bullies in school that cause kids to go ape-shit. If half of the parents didn't give the kids a chance to play violent video games, and actually spent some time with them, rather than using the console as a fucking baby-sitter.. we wouldn't have little issues like this.
After the last shooting, the parents and family said... "We had no idea he had this in him... he was just... quiet." Give me a fucking break. First off, if they knew.. they're not going to take responsibility and blame for it. Why? The kid is dead! Who's going to tell anyone? Again.. it's the KID's problem. Granted, he had a couple screws loose... but I'm sure someone picking on him in school and his parents not giving a fuck has a lot to do with it.

This is going on more and more.. mostly because of the messed up economy that's limiting time spent with kids and such. Few family values are carried on if mom and dad aren't around to teach them. Instead, they learn from assholes at school and video games.

I grew up on a farm and played my share of video games... we also fucked sheep.. but we didn't kill many people. Just those who found out we fucked sheep.

If people are going to start pointing fingers.. they should at least look into cowboy'n up and taking a few steps on a solution. Whether it costs thousands more to make sure everyone's safe... they should think of some regulations.

I recommend kicking out little bastards that give other students a hard time, rather than going after the one getting picked on, myself... the kid may make a game that looks like his school.. but the bad guy is the one at the end of the room, throwing paper at him. There's a root cause for everything.. and it certainly isn't the kids themselves.

The only reason I'm really concerned is that my friend actually runs a radio station that promotes local and upcoming bands. They send in music to them, they play NO profit gaining advertisements and send all of their extra CD's and gathered donations (posters, pictures, etc) to the troops.

They ALSO have an air radio station that's low wattage that runs the same music around Pittsburgh.

Now, if this appeal doesn't stop them.. My friend will have to pay an unGodly amount of money per month EVEN for music that was given to them by the bands. But, in order for people to even listen to the new bands, you have to play well-known music as well.
At this point, he'll have to shut it down completely. $500 minimum charge per year is more than enough to hurt someone who's paying for the broadband and electric anyway. What good can come of this? They can't charge air-wave radio stations because they don't know how many listen to it.. so, they GIVE them music to promote songs as long as they play them X amount of times.. and it has to be logged.
They're getting away with EVERYTHING they can.

That would theoretically be the way to go, but considering it's like a mafia nowadays.. you're going to get snuffed if you don't play by their rules... and if you don't play by their rules, they'll create a band and copy your style, THEN profit themselves. With the RIAA and other music authorities now, it's not even about the artist.. they can MAKE a band at any time, but having control of everyone that listens to the band on THEIR internet. Honestly, if they had an all-permitting license to get fees from EVERY person, be it on air or internet... they would charge however much they want. NO matter if they were making BILLIONS per day, they wouldn't lower their prices or slack their leash. SOMETIME it has to stop.. Right now they found that they can actually make money on fining people who listen to even SHITTY music, let alone pop. They're going to go as far as they can until they're actually pushed back.

How would you become known and show EVERYONE that you're pissed, than to go kill a few people. It's not like it hasn't happened since the beginning of time... serial killers.. suicide bombers.. shooters.. all before realistic shooter games came about.

I think that your ratio for kids that get picked on in school HIGHLY outweighs the ratio of those playing video games. MAYBE they should think about paying attention to the people who started fucking with these kids in the first place, rather than how they vent their aggression.

Dell started having slight hiccups with sales before the Vista tragedy... in fact, it even started before AMD, which is one of the reasons they were trying to find new customers.
This is probably a way they know they can drop the prices even more and keep a "don't ask-Don't tell" idea when it comes to turning their back on pirated copies of Windows. A person can simply buy a cheaper PC with linux and install an OEM copy of any windows flavor if they wanted to.. and save a couple hundred.

I only say that, because I REALLY don't see any linux users buying a Dell that is pre-built. From my experience, they're all about the custom PC's. Laptops, on the other hand, are a different story.
