I do admin work on a night shift, and it gets VERY quiet at night, so I run a variety of videos of an evening on my laptop. It has also come in handy when traveling via Southwest Air.
Woot! I bought End Of The World off Steam, and have quite enjoyed it, even if I find it a little difficult. I have even been recommending it to friends with families, due to the graphics style and non-violent game play.
Neat to hear from one of the devs.

Hmmmmmm. The Red Cross. People helping people.
The same people that helped me after a house fire (that I wasn't even around for, leaving me completely exonerated).
Helped me with a little plastic baggie of assorted cheap toiletries and a laundry guide.
Very caring.
(BTW, I was a gold card, gallon club donor to them...)
I suspect it was due to some of the past cases they mention. I had the impression they were very unpleasant, and often unsuccessful. I suspect a track record of defeat, coupled with intimate knowledge of how bad these crimes could be, piled on top of the loss of Rachel, the damage to his face, and apparent ending of his career all piled together to drive him over the edge.
Plus, some of the fluff suggests Harvey had always had a second, more lethal, personality he kept well concealed, and the unique nature of his disfigurement finally ended the other personality's exile.
One problem I had with the BatBike (especially established with the last story "Working Through Pain" in Gotham Knight) was the guns. Given Batman's history, as well as currently actions (like his disgust for the BatFans running around armed) was the guns. Military inspired BatBike or not, there would not be guns there.
Not sure about Dent's dialogue. I mean, crazy people don't necessarily run around saying "I am Napoleon! Viva la France! WOO HOO HOO HOO!"
I just figured his crazy was just developing a methodology and rationale for abandoning his prior prior moral code, so he could righteously (to him) pursue a course of vengeance. With the amount of damage he took, reconstructive surgery would be a joke, so he knew his face was gone forever. Couple that with the pain he was undergoing, and the loss of the woman he loved, it's not surprising he snapped.
When I had to leave the local housing authority (with a boss that was so bad, I had coworkers from other departments suggesting I file suit against them), they gave me the bum's rush and would not let my (now) ex-wife in to get my things for the next two weeks.
They then quizzed my coworkers about my tendencies toward revenge and sabotage. Amusingly enough, while all this was going on, my remote indial was still working. (I just checked it enough to make sure the connection was still working. I never ever logged in).
My replacement, however, stated that he had left files on the server. They let him in and he wiped two and a half of the three mission-critical server volumes.
My revenge?
That marvelous backup procedure set up by a previous admin...
I am surprised to notice no one has mentioned the recent writer's strike at this current point. One of the major issues involved residuals from internet playback. The writers were claiming that they should be paid at least a portion of the standard television rate, while the networks were treating each play as a "promotion" and claiming they owed no fees. [citation]
Heh. Back in the days of There.com people would ask me why my avvie had grey hair and a pot belly...
Ummm, because I did in real life.
In case you wondered...
Exactly.
I know music geeks, auto geeks, cooking geeks, and even knitting geeks.
For me, the yardstick is two-fold - the level of innovation and the level of devotion...
That would be the Incarnations of Immortality series. Started with On A Pale Horse (Death) in high school.
The Incarnations were actually mortals that inherited their positions from the prior holders.
I have not read the latest (all of them listed here.
They can be a little mature in places.
Agree with both of you. I have been scrambling to stay away from ndiswrapper while dealing with an AR5007 chipset on my current laptop.
Not pretty, especially with kernal updates.
I seem to see people seriously up in arms about families espousing certain religious creeds declining medical treatments and having children die.
Seems to me that this is just the flip side of what you are suggesting...
I think they're trying to force the alternate clients off. They don't pay add rates for those clients only the native clients that see the ads they're serving up. They ignore the network effects when someone leaves the network since they're only conserned about ads and add rates, it's almost like they've never heard of Metcalfe's Law before.

I keep thinking the bouncygram is the best solution. No real calls on the IT staff and no real capital outlay.
Or it gets the Firehose again?
You are, of course, erroneously assuming Android will ever be anything but a beta...
I used to be able to whistle 110 baud. Get off my lawn!
Heck, I'd let NYCL date any one of my sisters and smile. (Of course, one of them IS a lawyer, but she's in estate planning, so she's cool)...

Well, non-adult, but similar... Printcrime...
I am pretty sure I help them stay in business, just by the size of my Nerf arsenal.

I will disagree.
I feel that Heath Ledger rightfully earned the highest plaudit I can give -
I forgot the Joker was Heath Ledger.

I am an insensitive clod you insensitive clod!

Ellison? Interesting choice, but keep them away from the Dangerous Voices series he edited.

Heh. I play on a server with one of them sometimes. I, ahem, managed to drop a sentry right in front of the spawn door with him in it once.

You mean about Metcalf cashing out his 401K, buying a jet pack and now needing a machine to poop?
