Yea you probably wouldn't see all that in a PE class, but he's probably talking about extracurricular leagues, where the kiddies would definitely be learning about all the different positions and how to play them.
I'm certain that if Muslims made fun of Christians tightly held cultural and religious beliefs there would be outrage from Christians.
You must be new here. In threads on this site discussing Christianity it is almost guaranteed that someone will refer to the Christian God as the 'sky-daddy' and Jesus as the 'undead zombie Jew'. Christians and Jews are constantly ridiculed, we get over it.
You replied to a complete and utter moron who has absolutely no ability to reason. Chances are that someone actually wrote the post for him because of his inability to understand the world around him.
Wow, you must be an incredibly fair and reasonable person!
I play DotA [playdota.com] and Heroes of Newerth [heroesofnewerth.com] with my friends, and I can't even begin to describe how much our gameplay improves when we're in the same room (sometimes arguing very fiercely
Usually goes something like this at my place:
Dammit stop feeding! Why the hell didn't you ulti?
I was out of f**ing mana!
GG man, let's just freakin concede.
If we ignore the achievements of men because of their supposed shortfallings in other areas, then nobody is a great man, and what exactly does that say about society?
I've played Eve for 2-3 years now, and I solo. Never been in a corp other than my own for more than about 2 weeks. It's quite possible to make it on your own.
These speed tests were filmed at actual web page rendering times.
First line of the description of the video. Granted they could've put it in the title instead of just 'speed', but I think they're being pretty straightforward in stating that this is just a rendering test.
There are other options than Xbox Live for Halo 2 multiplayer, like XBConnect. I haven't tried using it for Halo 2, but back in the day I used it a good bit for playing some online Halo 1 multiplayer (there was no Xbox Live for Halo 1) and it was pretty sweet. Maybe not as good as Live, but still, it's something.
These are going to be like the Mona Lisa,' says space historian John Logsdon, referring to Leonardo da Vinci's iconic 1506 portrait of a woman in Florence that remains on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris
I'm glad he specified that. I wasn't sure what he was talking about with just a simple "Mona Lisa".
This exactly. In my graduating civil engineering class of ~25 students (small school), I'd say there's only about 5 or 6 of us that don't regularly cheat in some way. The professors either know about it and don't care, or care but don't take the time to review assignments/exams closely enough to figure it out. It's scary to think that these people will end up being "professionals" at something someday.
Eventually, the lander will be ready and NASA will try it out on the Moon
That's the thing. They aren't actually nixing going back to the moon. They are just delaying it, and laying out a way to get to Mars that's actually feasible given NASA's budget. I was there when the president gave his speech and I attended a few informational sessions expanding on the plan afterwards. The plan comes down to this:
1. Get a good, cheap heavy launcher working.
2. Go to NEOs/Martian moons, learn to deal with radiation stuff and how to get people to things farther than the moon
3. Land on our moon, get a new lander working
4. Land on Mars
They are calling it an 'adaptable' plan, saying that steps 2 and 3 can be switched.
To add to that- I was there yesterday when he gave his speech, I was positioned so that I was seeing him from behind and to the side, and I was quite close (~30-40 feet). He didn't use teleprompters, and he never looked down at notes. And that was a 25-minute speech. I thought that was pretty impressive, and I've never been crazy about the guy.
I'm surprised we're not hearing/talking more about the Courier here. So far it looks like it's everything I had been hoping the iPad would be (but unfortunately wasn't).
I think you misread the summary. The GAO is saying that while there are lots of reports that show piracy is this big problem, those reports are based on studies that are total BS. The RIAA/MPAA most certainly does not want anyone pointing to this.
Also, the article in the first link says that the GAO investigation is looking into *all* forms of piracy, other than the Somalian kind of course.

You would not defend religion unless you were religious, therefore you are a superstitionist with no credibility.
And this, children, is what we call ad hominem .

I was able to fight them off using powers similar to those of Paladins in games.
Bubble->Hearth, eh?
If we ignore the achievements of men because of their supposed shortfallings in other areas, then nobody is a great man, and what exactly does that say about society?
The truth?
Yea, pretty much this.

Guess I better go to the beach today while it's still a good place to be.

The link in there doesn't work for me. The webpage just shows up backwards with all kinds of squiggly letters.
I question the 'one of the most secretive' part of TFS based on the fact that this is posted on Slashdot. /tinfoilhat
His calculations are for 1 part per million, I'd hardly call that 'saturated'.
How do you crash a balloon? I mean, don't you just fill it up with helium and let it go? Then it comes down slowly in a few days, right?
Right?

Can I come over and go through your couch cushions?

So basically, The Man is now arguing against The Other Man. Sweet.
