A lot of people, including the creator, believed the dub was better than the original voice acting (sorry, no source for this). Regardless of what they aim for with the voices in this movie, they will fall short, I'm sure. Specifically Keanu. This has already been said, but his generally monotone, almost lifeless voice is a far stretch from either version of Spike. I guess I will miss Spike's signature hair, as well, but that's not really going to be important when you consider all the other major attributes that will almost assuredly be ruined. Also, Spike d---err...woops, little too much 4chan.

  7. Lack of knowledge on "Back Door" Cheating Scandal Rocks Online Poker · · Score: 1

Some of the comments I've read on this article are embarrassing, and honestly, this article itself is embarrassing.

I play poker professionally on multiple sites, and have done so over the last few years. The scandal this article references is old news, and was discussed intensively on the 2+2 poker forums. The site was not cheating its customers. An employee supposedly warned Absolute about a security hole that would allow for a superuser account that could view his opponents cards, and when he was rebuked, proceeded to do so on his own.

Online casinos have very little to gain and everything to lose by doing something like this. The operating costs compared to the rake that they take in is certainly a huge gap in favor of the site, and having superusers out there to take $50 (a limit that most people that claim online poker is "rigged" play at) off their customers here and there is absurd when you consider the results of being busted doing so. Further, when players claim poker is "rigged" for action to increase the rake, they obviously just do not understand that there is almost always a cap placed on the rake these sites take, a very low one especially in comparison to live casinos, and as such building big pots would net them very little. Generally these claims of being rigged are made as players claim to see a disproportionate amount of strong hands, not considering the fact that online poker tables see as many as 10x the hands that live tables do, and so unlikely hands like four of a kind and straight flushes are much more likely to occur.

In general, all the comments made so far claiming that it is "obvious" that online poker is rigged have no idea what they're talking about and are merely losing players. In this particular case, an employee found a security hole that was only even accessible by someone with inside access, reported it, and when it was not acted upon, abused it. This is certainly a problem, but one that is not as rampant as many players would lead you to believe.

  10. Re:Sales Experience on Best Buy + Windows Guru = Apple Store Experience? · · Score: 1

I wish I could be as optimistic as you, but that is not really close to how the world works.

This is how this went down:
Step 1: Customer chooses to buy product from Best Buy (or whatever store this happened in), and chose not to buy the extended warranty, understanding that by choosing not to do so, the store is not obligated to service this product.
Step 2: Printer breaks (why, we don't know; it may not even be broken for all we know) and customer comes back and expects store to fix his printer, knowing full well that this is not going to happen because, as I said earlier, he chose to not buy the extended warranty. If it's only 5 months then the manufacturer warranty should still stand and that is his only recourse. It is the customer's fault.

Then, to top it off, the customer insults his sales rep, and from what OP's post entails, he didn't even have anything to do with the original sale! This customer deserves to be flat out banned from the store. He knew, or at the very least should have known, exactly what situation he was putting himself in by choosing not to buy a warranty, and yet he comes back and is unbelievably rude to an employee that he has never even met before.

I just can not fathom how you can defend this. It's absurd. I don't know if you live in some fantasy world where everything has perfect justice or something, and scarcity of resources is just not a problem so that any store can just replace $500 printers on a whim, but that's not the world I live in, or the rest of the planet.

  11. Re:Sales Experience on Best Buy + Windows Guru = Apple Store Experience? · · Score: 1

How is this modded insightful? I'd mod troll but instead I'll respond. In what way, shape, or form, is this OP's fault? Customer came in with a broken printer and no warranty. Lets look at OP's options: Sell him a new one, and encourage him to buy a warranty so that this does not happen again. That's it. There's nothing else he can do. He's a sales rep for a store that sold him a product. Obviously OP was not involved in manufacturing that item, and neither was his store. It's perfectly ok for a customer to be angry that their expensive printer crapped out in 5 months, but it's absolutely absurd and unwarranted for him to be angry at and abuse the rep. Are you by any chance the customer in question?

But also, the hardware-software integration is much tighter, even when loading 64-bit Vista on it via Bootcamp. All you can be saying here is that the hardware is better, which is laughable since you can get identical hardware from any PC manufacturer.
The typical argument for Mac is the software-hardware integration, or just the general superiority of OS X, but what you're saying here is neither of those things and fairly ludicrous.

Still, I don't think it's quite on the same league. However, my sister is epileptic so that might influence my decision for all I know. But you have to respect the kind of horrible person it would take to do something like that to a person. Sure, what she was doing was wrong to some, if not most people, whereas these epileptics were merely trying to get help, but looking at the outcomes it shows you Anonymous isn't exactly a caring group.

You don't really have an argument in the rest of your post, but I'll go through it line by line if you'd like.

This, and the fact that you're posting as an AC made me wonder if you're a cult member.
What? Why? Him posting as AC doesn't mean anything, as a channer he might just want to post as anon, or maybe he read the threads about this /. story on 4chan. Those threads are probably still up on /g/, and from what I saw of them everyone was pissed off at /. for getting everything so blatantly wrong. Go look if you'd like. http://zip.4chan.org/g/imgboard.html

This made me sure of it. That just proves to me that beyond any shadow of a doubt you don't know anything about 4chan. 110% positive. 4chan posts exactly those kinds of things about themselves constantly. It's like a mantra or something. If that made you think it's someone trying to give them a bad name, you're just an idiot trying to pretend to know something, period.

This is a clear debunking of the rationale present in this post. Like I said before, no, it's not. It may mean he merely does what he says. If you can't see that, you're blind.

If you know anything about the cult, you know about "Fair Game". I don't know anything about CoS. At all. I don't care. In my opinion, it's not 4chan's place to care.

Considering the amount of AC posts here (like yours) that are pro-cult, it's pretty obvious that this is a *VERY* lame attempt at framing their detractors. Why is that pretty obvious? Why can't a group of people that call themselves Anonymous post as AC's? A lot of them probably don't have /. accounts, and even some that do might just choose to post as AC. I don't understand why this is so obvious to you.
