there are about 5 or 6 different cuts of blade runner, each quite different from each other. the dvd release of the 'director's cut' is hardly a directors cut either... i have the directors cut dvd and a copy of the workprint on tape (a VERY different version of the movie). read this book...
they likely realize that the nostalgia market is large, but not huge, so they rerelease these games but aren't shipping the numbers of them that they would say, metroid zero where they *know* they are going to sell a shitload of units.
my guess is the relatively high cost may be a factor of supply/demand. they might only break even if they were selling the games for say $10 each, which is not good business (of course annoying customers with perceived high prices isn't either).
they may also figure that putting a developer to work on a few titles to put together a multigame pack might be too costly to develop. if so, it is too bad, because it would be great to have some more full series packs like all the donkey kong games, all the various sports titles (each of which weren't that great alone but might be fun in one big pack), etc...
oh no, nintendo is offering a product that some folks want and are willing to pay for yet aren't forced to buy on an open market! what is it about choice, i just don't understand it?
i mean, what the fuck is going on here?! i liked it much more back in my day when we had to carry around a tv, a nes and a big fuckin' battery around to play some of those old games i used to love. videogaming and excercise together at last! yeah, that was portable gaming and we liked it.
sarcasm aside, if you don't like it, don't buy it. but i'm sure you know that already...
also keeping in mind the limited number of rewrites that flash memory has. it is amazingly high, but if you are using it day in day out you might hit the threshold...
i think the more likely situation will be that they still allow you to set up your own servers etc. but if say you want to play halo 2 on pc with folks on xbox, then you will have to go through the live network for that bridge (though folks are building free bridges all the time for this kind of stuff)...
Umm... Desk Accessories have been around forever. Here's some history from the guy who DID invent them. The term 'widget' has been around for a very long time as well as is the function of scripting. Konfabulator put some of these things together well, but they were building on old ideas they didn't develop. Methinks the Konfabulator dude thinks a little more highly of himself than he should...
Still, it might have been nice for Apple to approach the Konfabulator dude about it so as to not get folks riled up about it.
Well, I have over 16,000 (yes, you read that right) spam messages in my spam folder. Why so many? Because I can't 'empty spam folder'. I've used about 70M of space on spam alone. The filter is *okay* compared to how much spam is being received each day but there are about 25-70 spams that get through on average and I receive about 500+ spams a day. It isn't great but hopefully it will get better.
BTW, I redirect all unrouted mail from my domain to my gmail account, which is where I get all the spam from...
actually... their were also the mac apple II cards you could use to run old appleII apps from and connect a 5.25" floppy to which came about a while beforehand...

if i remember correctly, isn't this one of the promises that citrix was supposed to offer?

though i will grant you that the price is a little steep...

now why would you want a cd shooter when you can have a lethal salad shooter instead?!?! ;P

yes, but in 11 years, how many tons will that be? ;P

so will this version include more story and less suck?
until schroedinger's cat runs into the road and gets hit by a car...
please explain the "visual" origins of vi...
hmm... i think i said this same thing a little earlier... in a slightly less verbose fashion here, here and here. but whatever...
or you could just imagine acclaim's name on the headstone instead of "charles edward weston"'s...
well you know of course... there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. we also know there are known unknowns...
sorry, old joke but fitting.
nice work. now we just need that "parents guide to linux" and this will be really helpful! ;P
actually what it looks like is a vcr i had in the early 80's... the thing is hideous...
as someone else said, sounds like waste or something similar is a solution for them...
i'm sure it is awfully difficult to quote a 29 year old movie that everyone has seen a zillion times...

so what, do they think that IE is getting too stable and they need to bring back the old team to fuck it up again?
more of a trojan horse than a virus...
