care to point to where in the gpl they are violating?
perhaps i overlooked something tivo is doing against the gpl, but just because you don't agree with how they operate doesn't mean they are breaking the law...
btw, 'open source advocates' and 'linux advocates' aren't mutually exclusive...
i have a gmail account and one of the things i find annoying about it is that you can't easily 'empty spam'. i get tons of spam and while the majority of it is caught by gmail's spam filter, i still can't get rid of it with a single button.
i have over received 5000 spams in the last 1.5 weeks which would require me to delete 100 spam messages at a time, 50 times to get rid of it all... only to have to repeat the process in another few weeks. while this isn't a big deal in that i have 1 gig to use, it is quickly being eaten up by spam. i'm already using about 2% of my space, all by spam. at this rate i expect that by the end of the year (no i haven't done the math but if you are so inclined, go ahead) i'll have used the majority of it with spam...
i reported this 'oversight' as a bug. hopefully they'll add an easy to use empty spam button soon...
btw, the reason why i get spam isn't due to gmail (like various hotmail and yahoo accounts i've had over the years) but because i redirect unrouted mail from my domain to my gmail account so it doesn't get mixed in with mail i want to get. so my gmail account is sort of my spam account...
quick! better hack the gibson and write that nasty killer virus that will take over the worlds communications networks and put a penny out of every porn website transaction into your bank account before they enable the nx bit! man oh man, my bud teh cereal-killer is gonna be so m@d!
also makes me wonder exactly how much sun will open. i'm sure they've got a pile of stuff in there protected by patents (their own and some they've licensed)...
well, microsoft (sorta...) already did this the first time they dabbled in computer/console gaming with the msx (though they didn't have involvement other than providing a basic for the machine). but yeah, lots of folks have had this idea but there are too many problems that need to be solved before this kind of thing can become a reality. a basic interpreter woulda been fine for simple homebrew games back in the day, but today you need graphics and sound libraries and a shitload of drivers... not to mention a no brainer autoconfig utility.
amd should buy these guys and transmeta. then use transmeta's tech to create a lower power chip (than the 80 watt or whatever chips we have now) and use the stretch tech to make it faster (to make up for any lost speed due to lower clocks).;P
especially since apple is a company that has lots of folks trying to pry and find out what is coming out next (often so they can copy it w/ a cheaper, lesser product), this makes a lot of sense...
you may have paid for the priveledge, but if ms' profit margins aren't high enough (hell if i know what their margins are) for the amount live costs them, i could see it disappearing. companies aren't interested in 'cool features' unless it affects their bottom line, in a positive way.

makes me curious why you are buying used computers looking for horse porn... ;P
Grant Theft Ulala: Cosmic Dance Attack?
umm... okay. so how is this going to help us with flying cars and hoverboards?
ie, what are the practical uses of this other than for writing books about it?
here's a link. holy crap that's messed up!

thanks. didn't see that in the help. fortunately i don't get that much spam, so it should help. :)

heh, with gas prices as they are, it is getting to the point that you can almost justify the price of one of these things...
