take a look at this. i don't know if they are right, but these guys seem to think that they don't have a case (interestingly, they sorta predicted a problem with that q/a)...
anyone had any luck with it on a buffalo wireless card? i haven't gotten the chance to try it yet, but.33 ran (didn't crash like some folks have reported), but never saw the card... here's hoping.4 will do the trick.
i have an older win98se hp laptop that doesn't support win2k or xp due to its lack of support for the newer acpi power management and hp doesn't have drivers that work with it either... oh well.
it is pretty cool, though a little short. haven't seen the new 4d show. they do have a nice display of memorabilia outside the experience, stuff that was used in the shows and movies. the giftshop and quark's bar were pretty cool. you can pick up some romulan ale there.;P
the wedding thing looked amusing, and actually, it is pretty cheap so far as weddings go. plus there is lots to do in vegas other than gambling (i'm cheap so i'm not much for gambling) and most things are fairly cheap if you are staying in a hotel since they want to keep you there as much as possible to gamble...
i got the letter in the mail about the settlement. problem is that i don't think i have the boxes and serials for those programs kicking around anymore to prove i purchased those products. so i'm screwed...
about 6 months ago it was going around that broadcom and microsoft were working together to build a wpa update for win9x and nt (pre-xp) machines. they were the ones that created the wpa drivers for xp.
i wonder if anyone has heard anything else about this...
Well, considering that he did most of his web development on a NeXT box, I think it would be safe to say that he was ahead of the rest in the way of 'Switching'...
you know, back when this happened, i asked rms about the issue. he basically told me that they would have to recode it from scratch in order to not violate the gpl. just because someone gpl'd it, doens't mean they had the authorization to do so...
Actually, it is more of a printing technology. The fact that you can view it across multiple computer types is secondary in importance (at least in my line of work). However, the reason why it was created was because printing documents sucks across platforms. You never get the same thing. So if you take your document into a print or copy shop, you'll get the same thing you had on your screen.
This is exactly why I *wish* Word had an export to PDF function. It is a pain in the ass dealing with font issues, formatting, color inaccuracies, etc. with the.doc (.xls, etc.) formats. PDF eliminates most of those problems...
yeah, but you know that microsoft will still forget to renew and have to wait for someone else to remind them... of course this could improve their track record!;P

yeah, well with an administration that doesn't believe in evolution, i don't think you are going to convince them of time travel either...
hey, now you are starting to sound like simoniker...
yeah, i imagine his job to be less "men in black" and more "maytag man"...

oneonta, city of the hills... my old stomping grounds. good riddance. ;P
i wouldn't be surprised at all if there isn't much of a change... reminds me of some projects i've seen. oy

phantasmagoria is another game that is nearly impossible to run outside of win95 (well, so far as i have been able to find anyway)...
an added benefit of vmware is that it slows down the cpu for you. ;P

you know, simoniker's rumormongering anti-cube nonsense is really annoying...
a little fact checking goes a long way. of course, this being slashdot is kinda like asking foxnews to do some fact checking...

here's the link to the discussion.
no, the 'lines' are pretty obvious when the company admits they sucked at making sports games. there's nothing to read into it...
yeah and even more curious, news that hits the front page...
weapons of mass destruction!
the economy is just dandy!
new jobs aplenty!
no child left behind!
we don't like big gov't!
healthy forest initiative!
Repeating something a million times doesn't make it true!
yeah, i guess you're right... too bad the rest of america seems to be mesmerized by that other reality distortion field.

Nice, rag on a version that is still in early beta...
Well, if you haven't found something after you move, I'm sure Walmart could use another drone...
No really, I hear your pain. I used to live in Upstate New York and it was the pits for tech jobs...
umm... hate to ask this question about patenting hyperlinks and all, but uhh... do we have a link to the patent he's talking about?
kind of useless to talk about this if we don't have the full patent info to look at...
it's trekker not trekkie people! sheesh! ;P
