  8. Do you also believe that at least one techie at Apple could have backdoored/stolen/worked with a foreign government secretly? Just how many Chinese born workers are at Apple, by the way? Now maybe Apple has so many layers of checks this wouldn't happen for a long time. Or maybe not, I don't know.

Reality is, I'm not sure there is anybody to trust over Apple with phone data. I hope they aren't screwing everybody over. And you are right, it would be a PR nightmare if they were and got caught.

GTRs are more than sportscars, they are supercars. They are often supercars that beat other supercars 3 times their price. I have the feeling this fudge factor was keeping the costs down and performance up... not sure GTR owners are going to be upset. However, I prefer my manufacturers to keep it honest. Japanese culture is all about the environment... they'll take the small amount of heat from the press in Japan is my guess.

How the hell are we ever going to get another planet in better shape than what we have here now if we keep pretending it doesn't matter because we are moving on in a decade or so (more like another billion years)? Take care of this planet, seriously. I guess it's going to take capitalism or some crazy kingtype somewhere to change the human culture in order to keep the planet Earth livable.

  19. Unplug the bad device from the network... as in unplug that wire that isn't power. No wire because WiFi?... realistically 99% of the IoT stuff is WiFi, do this to keep it disconnected:

    1. Change the password on your WiFi router, and do not update it on your IoT devices.

    2. If you don't know how to do that, throw away your old WiFi router and buy a new one, which will force you to make a new password.

  20. So if I'm low on battery, I still have to have a clunky device wired to the wall that I sit my phone on. I STILL SEE THE MOTHERFUCKING WIRE!

And now all cars have to have some Apple branded wireless charging SPOT?!?! Guess what, I have NO additional room in my car for something like that. What if I want to charge my phone and my wife's?

  22. Ideas - Crohn's disease in the 3rd world? on Man Reports PillCam Stuck In His Gut For Over 12 Weeks · · Score: 1

Does Crohn's disease exist in the non-industrialized world? Is it a symptom somewhat similar to allergic reactions gone crazy?

It's recently been proven that food allergies go away with tiny dosages over time. Allergy doctors give you shots of whatever it is you are allergic to.

Is there any hope that people with Crohn's just need their immune system to start reacting with more of the natural world? Mosquito bites, dirt, cuts, scrapes? I remember reading on Slashdot or somewhere a while back one grad student purposely infected himself with some sort of "common to 3rd world" intestinal worm/parasite which helped his allergies. He got called out because he might introduce that parasite to the US or other places that don't normally have it.

Anyway, I'm sure it's not so simple, but if I had that disease I sure as hell would try anything.
