This makes no sense. I'm fairly certain that the lock up is because this software is in an ALPHA state, and not because it's Android. Way to generalize, there.

Yeah I didn't understand that either. It's got this great huge desktop area and you can't put anything on it. Then apps that are downloaded from the AppCatalog are stored in downloads, rather than 'Apps'. You have to move them yourself. I don't like the browser either. Dalingren did mention that there's a version of Firefox out there for the Touchpad's native OS but I haven't looked for it since I've installed Android. I do like the 'tossing away' of current tasks, but that's about it. I really prefer Android on this thing.

I had a really easy time installing Android on my touchpad. The only issue I have now is that if the touchpad sits idle for a while (around 10 mins or more) it will lock up and I have to hard-reset the touchpad. Otherwise, Android works pretty well. Just have to get a fix for the Facebook and Twitter apps, since Facebook locks because of the lack of a GPS locator in the Touchpad.

  7. It runs pretty well. on CyanogenMod Ports Android To HP TouchPad · · Score: 1

I installed the CM7 uh.. mod into my Touchpad and so far it works great. There are two bugs I've noticed, one of them very minor, the other somewhat major.

Firstly, when installing the mod into the tablet, I noticed that it deleted all of my comics on the webOS portion. I had a small stash of comics to read using the comicHD app, and they were deleted. Not a problem, I have backups, so that's a tiny issue that is easily resolved.

The other thing I noticed is that if the tablet is allowed to sit idle for a while and go to sleep, it will lock up after an unspecified amount of time. I noticed i left mine alone for a few hours to charge up, and it was locked. I had to hold the pwr/home buttons for 20 seconds to reboot it. But it came up just fine after the fact.

I really like Android so far. I'm an iPhone user so I'm more familiar with iOS but I wasn't a huge fan of webOS with the small amount of time I spent with it. It works ok, I suppose, but I dont like the browser, and the App Catalog is -as previously mentioned by others- very slim pickings.

Don't be a douche. It has nothing to do with it being "only 8 dollars" and it has everything to do with "doubling their price if you want what they're already giving you, and also we're gonna remove a lot of stuff from our catalogue - but you still gotta pay us double for the 'whole catalogue'.

There are plenty of comic books out there that could be done. Invincible Nemesis (an anti-batman) A Justice League movie (maybe starting with this new Superman) would be cool, but I'm sure hollywood would just re-invent Batman for it, even though it's completely unnecessary.

I saw Lantern on Saturday. I've always liked the Green Lantern since I was a kid but I've never been super-familiar with it like I was with Spider-man or Batman.

Again I'd say it was a mid-grade comic book movie. Good visuals, but it was a tad slow. I'd have liked to see more of Hal being a Lantern on Earth, and of course it could have used a lot more Sinestro (or Mark Strong, for that matter). Also, the reviewer made a mistake - Sinestro was hardly forgettable. He was awesome, because he was played by the talented Mark Strong. I couldn't wait to see more of him and that last bit with him and the Yellow Power Ring was awesome.

It wasn't as well done as something like Dark Knight or Spider-man 2, but it also wasn't horribly done like Spider-man 3 or Fantastic Four. I got my $10 at the theater. I won't see it at the theater again, but I'll likely purchase the BluRay when it's released.

    Come on Captain America.

BTW I'm not really a Marvel fanboy. I do 'prefer' Marvel comics to DC, but when it comes to the heavy hitters like Superman, Batman, (and pretty much the entire Top Tier Justice League members) I WAYYY prefer DC. The Avengers WISH they could be as cool as the JLA.

I happened to have changed my PSN password months ago when people would share their accounts with their friends, so I wasn't worried about hackers getting access to my email, or online accounts anywhere else. I did have to cancel my debit card that I had on file with Sony and get a new one, but I was also lucky enough to not have anything charged on the card while it was still active.

Even so, I don't trust Sony's security measures, especially considering what happened with their page to change passwords getting hacked as well. (jeez, lol)

I didn't and currently don't miss or even use PSN. I watch Netflix on one of the many other Netflix capable devices I have (at last count, 5 in my entertainment center alone). Even the couple of games I purchased through PSN before like Final Fantasy VII and Super Street Fighter HD Remix still work so I don't really need PSN anymore.

I honestly don't think Sony will have any issues with PSN (or PSN+) subscribers in the future. There are so many uninformed people out there that have no idea what's been going on that will just sheepishly sign back in when the system is back up.
