Because some of us want to see SuSE succeed, and they can't do that on goodwill alone. Now, I probably won't buy it - I'm a student, and $130USD is a steep price for me - but I bought a copy of SuSE 8.0 recently, and I would recommend that people start doing the same with their favourite distribution.
Absolutely painless. Just put in the CDs, follow the simple instructions, wait a while (I chose the full installation), and you're done. Everything's set up.
Barcodes will often have numbers below them so that the cashier can key in the item in the event that the barcode won't scan. I've worked in retail for a couple of years, part-time, and believe me, you get to know a lot of those codes. If some product were to take code 0678290 (Coca-Cola), I'd instantly recognize it.
Jesus fucking Christ, that's Visual Basic! Eww! Here, drink this:
?- assert(calls(kettle, black(pot))).
Yes
?- calls(X, black(Z)).
X = kettle Z = pot
Yes

I've always felt that writing music and writing code were two very different things. To be sure, there's a heavy element of creativity in both, but consider this: programs will have exactly one semantic meaning; music can be interpreted in a variety of different ways by different people. It's the same with poetry, really.
Now, I love writing code; I know somewhere near a dozen computer languages. But it really isn't the same as writing music.
you're comparing apples and oranges.

I mean, yes, both of them happen to be fruit, but they're otherwise very different.
I'll agree that basic vi sucks, and I'm an avid vim user. But addressing your points one by one:
1. vim does 2. vim does 3. vim does 4. vim does, I believe. But then, I never use it, because I prefer a text editor to be a text editor and little else. 5. vim easily allows you to switch between buffers. 6. not sure if vim does this, but I'm sure you can write macros to do this.
In short, you, sir, are a troll. Not all of us like our text editors to try (badly) to be a newsreader, an e-mail client, and a web browser.
I've always thought it rather sad that people can't look past actors' previous roles. Agent Smith was a very distinct character, to be sure, but it's certainly not all that Mr. Weaving is capable of. I thought, appearance-wise, he was perfect for the part.
No, it actually makes perfect sense.
Consider the following:
for all elements e of a set x, y(e).
z belongs to x.
therefore, by definition, y(z).
Note the "by definition" part.
Which is, uh, considerably less than 100 years.
Where I live, "photocopy" and "xerox" are interchangeable. People use both.
That took me to goatse.cx :(
Can you tell me more about a great idea?
In other news, coffee-shop porkings were up 1000% today.
Cashiers aren't paid enough to care about your problems.

i do believe that this is the first post.
PHP vs. perl is a religious debate, really.
I like perl.
I was grounded for straightening mine. :(
A computer without a Microsoft operating system is like a dog without bricks tied to its head.
Harder to kick?

Dead fucking simple. Plus, YaST2 is very nice.
Cheetos are crap. The best cheesies are made by Hawkins, a Canadian company. Absolutely delicious.
I've never had caffeinated Mt. Dew, though. Canada has funny laws regarding caffeine in non-cola carbonated drinks.
Your new here, aren't you? ;)
Frist logged in first post!

Sad, but true.
Holy shit.
That beats my grade nine D&D adventures hands down!

Likely because a lot people don't realize the profound impact that semaphore and ALGOL had on the computing landscape.

Oh, I'll readily admit I'm not funny. You, on the other hand...
