With speeding for the last 8 years. I have to say, while some parts are a lot easier (spot checks become instinctual, if it's not one of you, it's one of them, etc..)
There are other parts that get very difficult. Recently traffic enforcement officers have cars w/ cloaked light bars, and stock paint jobs. They can now use li / radar/laser while moving. I still refuse to get a detector as I feel it makes you sloppy, complacent.
I recently got caught cause I was on my cell phone (luckily I got out of the ticket), not paying attention, and that's why I am all for the ban.
Not that I know how this happens, but the IP address could be x-reffed w/ the offenders time online. That get's x-reffed w/ video surveilance and you got your guy.
It's a freaking dream (or a nightmare if you did it) But I know what you meant.
If you take two weeks to replace a server(not a swap, but new solution), (I'm talking 80 man hours) you are not even close to testing enough scenarios. Change Control would ask what testing you did, and you'd reply w/ Well, the apps all "Looked" like they worked.
But unless your going to stop your users from working, enabling them to test all functionality of their software for two weeks, your trying to shove a VERY LARGE O PEG into a tiny [] hole.
Is that per machine? That sounds a little closer to me (but a touch high, maybe for 2 machines). Corporate liscensing is a lot more expensive than "personal editions." I know for where I work, per machine licenses are discouraged because of this, and we work to use "concurent liscensing." That doesn't make sense for small companies though.
I'm not this huge F/OSS guy, but I can say that you should be able to replace a bunch of "normal" business apps if your company is not yet profitable. If it's a charitable organization, there are a lot of software that is much closer to "personal" costs. Some of it is free.
Me? I would ask my last boss if he still has that spot open, while you submit your resume. You are doing the right thing, and if this company wants to grow, they'll need to grow legit too.
"Looks like Epic's strategy of copying everything id does is finally paying off...(kidding, mostly)"
Totally baited me there, and you got me. Going from Quake to UT was like going from a nice but cheap couch to a leather recliner. Yeah you can sleep in both, but one of those PUTS you to sleep, while the other lets you sleep.
I mean w/ quake, You got to really enjoy every frag count, and pretty much have to memorize every level. With UT3, I can jump in a map I've never seen before and be "led" to where I need to be. Also, UT brought vehichles to the game. So did Q IV, unfortunately no one plays either game.
My perspective is this, there are too many good classic games out there, and UT3 got killed by Crysis.
Epics stance has allways been similar to Blizz in that it'll release products "when ready" and it's UT series has allways been a way to sell the engine. The UT3 engine is AWESOME, the CryTek engine is AWESOME. It's just that Epic now has a new competitor other than ID, and it showed them both up. Look for a HUGE comback from ID and Epic in the upcoming year or so. If they don't, they'll die like bloated american auto industry.
I played it for my first time last year at infernalLan. was truly amazed by the fact that, I could play w/ as few or as many keys as I wanted. It had the number of binds as WoW, but like wow, you could drop down to just the mouse and movement keys and be O.K. (not good, but O.K.)
Graphics are junk on todays standards, but FPS wasn't all that high if IRC. (But I do have crap hardware so take that w/ a grain of sodium chloride) It seemed to me to be an FPS version of Sonic the SciFi hedgehog on crack. I'm holding out for a new version.
You are correct, the speedometer tells you how fast you are going. The Road conditions viewed by your eyes, and felt by your bum tell you about current conditions, your mind determines wether or not traveling faster or slower is worth the risk. No computer in MY lifetime is going to analyze the current temperature, number of moving objects, locations of stationary objects, wether or not there is an oil slick ahead, or a puddle, or if you're in a schoolzone etc.
Cars don't have better suspensions and steering systems because a rough ride interferes w/ distractions. It's so that You don't get thrown around the car everytime you hit a pothole in the Seattle to Oly stretch of I-5, to force your tires to the road, and mitigate the transmission of shock through the car, keeping all wheels connected to the road all the time, keeping bounce to a minimum, and greatly improving the handling capabilities of the vehicle.
"UN mask" those feelings on an RC car. (a fast one, not a radioshack version) And pull off the shocks. then try and drive around a corner at a moderate speed. Then put the shocks on and drive around that same corner at the same speed.
Yeah, stiffness may help around that corner... but when you go straight & hit a bump you are now in a corner whether you want to be or not. worse if you hit a pebble WHILE cornering.
Me personally I have 8way AGX adjustable shocks, and in the summer I turn em up to 6 (way to rough for my wife, but just right for me) and in the fall I turn em down to 3. Which reminds me that I have to go turn them up when I get new tires next month, Thank You!
Obama had better cut all those programs. Carriers are archaic, we can reach around the globe w/ an R/C plane powered by the electricity generated by mom's farts. Submarines, well, I'm w/ you on that one. The f-22 is outdated now.
Just cause we are going to cut some millitary programs doesn't mean we won't invest in others. Sharks w/ Lazors coming soon!
Not really a super capacitor as they can charge / discharge instantly, but a fast charging battery. Many good uses! and The first one I can think of is R/C planes. If I could charge my Stryker's battery in 10 seconds, but fly for 15-20 min. I'm sold. Right now I have to charge @ 1C (1x the capacity of the battery) for about 45 min for a 15 minute flight (if I'm gentle on the throttle).
The second is Recharging a car battery. Right now, if you use the electric brake gear for going down hill in a prius you'll slowly charge up your battery. If you apply brakes, you charge up your battery. But if you apply brakes hard, the battery can't take all that charge at once, and you have to use the disc brakes. Think of saving around 30lbs per wheel in brakes! No extra parts, and practically 0 maintenance for the brake for the life of the car. This alone will save hundreds of lives as people don't check their brakes enough.
Third is drag racing e- vehicles. We allready know that from the likes of a T-0 or a Tesla that e- cars can be fast. What if you could make those cars basically have an electric "NOS" button? OH WHAT FUN!
I thought I was alone in the world... then I read your reply. I can't bring myself to read an article that was summarized by someone obviously high on LSD, or has a cold and took WAY too much cough syrup. I'm not going to judge, but that just weird.
Yeah I was really sad. I never saw a comercial for it. It's like they built a great engine, then took UT2k4, modded it a little, and re-sold it. It was pretty, and fun, but it wasn't pretty fun. I really wish it was better, as TF2 feels like "Slow motion" compared to UT3.
Yes they do get pissed, and I just laugh at them on my way to the cash window. Card counting is a suplement to basic strat, and needs to be used in concert. You can't get anywhere if you lose all your money by the time you have the deck locked down. You have to play conservatively until you hit that "moment." Then, and only then, can you start to play with what you know from counting, which sometimes violates the "standard."
I don't play much, but I'm about just above even from the times I have. Way above if you count comps & entertainment value. Some days your up, winning crazy, compd meals, and more, some days your 8 hands down in 20 min. and out of gambling cash. It's just how the cards roll.
NEVER EVER play when your in a bad mood, or "need" money.
I had thought of that too, but I didn't want to tip anyone off before I go .... oh I shouldn't talk about that here...

I have on my Net enabled suitcase...
LOL I just found that the other day! Is there a way to get to that part of the game quickly? I haven't played it since I beat it.

I may be dumb, young, and crazy, but last I knew, the level of speed SHOULD go up on a straight flat road verses a mountain pass.

But when I had to do some sheetrock repairs, and add a cable outlet, I learned how easy it was to work with, repair, and finish.
If a guy like me can do it to his house, anyone can.
Mumumu MMMONSTER KILL!
LOL don't say that outloud, then I'll have to justify why I was looking up her name w/o safe search on!
She's my wifes best friend, and I was looking for her Myspace page. But I don't have an excuse for safe search... 8'(
Her REAL name is that of a pr0|\| *.
She didn't believe me until I made her google her own name.
"Trout droit" Which translates to "fish on" I think..
