No, the original complaint was that you need an OS X machine to develop for the iPhone... sort of like you need a windows machine to develop for the XBOX 360 or windows mobile. Not true?
I like Canada, but don't expect *any* friendliness from thier customs people. At least not in my experience. Of course, that was 10+ years ago, but I hardly think it has improved. Nice country, otherwise.
More careful drivers won't drive at all when drunk. Just *my* own experience. As for statistics:

In my experience nearly everybody who complains about Leopard being unstable is running some sort of unsanity app (or the logitech drivers). Nobody else really has a problem.

I have the same problem myself. Just installed Leopard over over Tiger on my new Mac Mini and iMovie crashes every time. There are no extras or strange things as I have done to it as I have *never* been able to start iMovie. Add to this that iTunes has been having problems importing my music (it just didn't show up in the list for no obvious reason) and other small issues and it makes me a quite disappointed new apple customer. Luckily it was easy to partition the disk and make room for ubuntu:)

Influence is one thing, outright buying of votes is different in my book. But perhaps you have some examples of that you can point to to help open my eyes?
Many people experienced improved sound quality from using a special pen to draw round the outside of their CDs. They expected it to sound better and so it did.
