Debian, Redhat, Slackware, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Gentoo, I've had all of it... and fucked around with all of their individual quirks to get them to work, etc.

Now I use Mint. It just works (with some bugs here and there, but tolerable) and gets out of my way.. exactly what I want to get my work done.

It also has some quirks, with retarded update policies and couple of other things, but I get why... and It's fine. I can mitigate security concerns the other ways.

Good system admins that understand the environment they work in, software, hardware and how services work and interact with each other (and therefore are very effective at creating things and solving problems), that have 15 years professional experience (*NOT* corporate bullshit, where nobody is doing anything or there are 10 people so it's easy to get away with doing nothing) are not drones and should be valued better. I know it's common to put everybody in the same basket and judge them like you just did, but it's stupid and just shows your ignorance (ironic that you're modded as insightful).

Some of them that transitioned to programming jobs after working as system admins are 2x more capable of any programmer i've seen, CS grads that have 0 experience especially.

If you combine geekness (passion) with actual opportunity and eventually experience, no school can top that.

I would rather argue that college students are drones. Spoon fed knowledge without experience of trying and failing and trying again, and learning from your own first hand experience what works and what doesn't work and WHY.

Takes a lot of balls to risk your children's health, and not vaccinate them when the majority of people are pro vaccination + there's (almost) full scientific consensus that vaccines do more good than bad + I myself am vaccinated, and I'm fine (?).

But I do not like vaccines because:

Ex-soviet regions like Serbia, Georgia, Lithuania, and Russia itself, as well as many African nations and some Central and South American nations that are Christian treat gay people just as poorly.

Just a correction - Serbia is not and was not part of any soviet regimes. Serbia, or more precise ... Yugoslavia (in which Serbia was a member state) was an enemy of Stalin's Russia. Serbia is also not Eastern Europe, culturally nor geographically. Geographically it's SOUTH Eastern Europe and culturally it's more central Europe because it's very close to countries such as Austria, Slovenia, Etc. Only Croatia being between Serbia and aforementioned countries, and Croatia itself is the same people with same language as Serbia (and also, a ex-yugoslavian country) just different religion... and funny enough, you don't see Croatia being mentioned to be USSR state... ever.

Staling attempted to assassinate Tito 6 times and failed.
Yugoslavian countries freed themselves (yugoslav partisans), without any help of USSR (or anybody else), from the nazi occupation.
Tito's funeral was the largest state funeral ever. From wikipedia:

"Based on the number of attending politicians and state delegations, it is still regarded as the largest state funeral in history.[2] They included four kings, 31 presidents, six princes, 22 prime ministers and 47 ministers of foreign affairs. They came from both sides of the Cold War, from 128 different countries out of 154 UNO members at the time.[3]"

I know it's offtopic, it just bothers the hell out of me when people say that Serbia was part of USSR .. or is bordering Russia or any other dumb statement like that.

Regarding how gays are treated in Serbia... not very well. But they are not very well treated anywhere in Europe in reality. Go hold hands with a dude in some parts of London or Paris after 9 pm if you want to test the theory. There is a conflict between gay people and zealot football fans in Serbia, and it happens every time gay people start showing themselves off, but in no way reflects what majority of those Christians you mentioned think.

So if you want to be throwing your *opinions* out there, at least don't make factual errors like this and ACTUALLY read about the things that you're writing about. You obviously have no idea how they treat gay people in Serbia, you don't know anything about Serbia except the propaganda material you heard out-of-context, which leads me to believe you have no idea about Russia or any other countries you mentioned... again.. just what your overlords brainwashed you into *believing*, apparently. You are no better than those Christian fundamentalists you're talking about. They have been brainwashed too.

I can literally set you up with a site and a ecommerce system in 20 minutes for FREE - that's why. The site that will be functional and professional looking.

It's a small startup, and if wordpress didn't exist - his business wouldn't exist and salaries for 4 people wouldn't exist.

Wordpress has pretty good support as well. Updates are released often, and on dashboard you get notified of those updates - after which you do 2 clicks - done. Up2date, vulnerability gone. If they don't fix known bug, cool - hire somebody to fix it for you.

I know slashdot people like to shit on wordpress, PHP etc., but hundreds of thousands of businesses are on internet because of wordpress. It's a great CMS.

A guy capable of killing himself and 150 other people like this is perfectly capable of knocking the flight attendants lights out before locking the door, and if he really intended to crash the plane... he would indeed punch her/him out first.

Second thing... there's what.. 100k flights per day for the last 10 years ? That's like 360000000 flights. For one freak occurrence you should not introduce new laws and regulations and shit. That's exactly what happened on 9/11 .. knee jerk reactions which introduced dozens of new regulations and laws that basically did nothing but made life more difficult and annoying (security theater).
