I love music. If it sounds good, it doesn't matter the format. MP3s have worked well for me, and I haven't had lot of problems with the format. I have had more trouble with burning audio CDs from MP3 format.
I think people like something to argue about. Additionally, I think people from different generations hold some sort of nostalgia for outdated tech. However, I don't think people should allow this to deny the benefits of newer technology.
Honestly, not everyone is gifted with the same set of ears. My husband can hear frequencies that I can't and the same with me. Sometimes its frustrating to know that he hears something different in a piece of music than me.
I think regardless of the format, people, quite often, will skew what they hear with what they imagine they hear and what they are thinking. I think this accounts for why my husband often rejects new music I show him...only to love it later and wonder why I didn't know about it when I did because I showed it to him. lol!
To me as long as music is not critically impaired, why do I care really? The matter is honestly inconsequential.
As we move forward, the densification of urban areas will escalate because of resource issues. The pricing of fuel is evidence enough to justify the rapid amount of city infill. However, more cities are re-evaluating their purpose for being and desire to re-attract families and the elderly. What is hilarious is why people in the U. S. (and I am an American, btw)build cities in incredibly bad areas (i.e. New Orleans, Oklahoma, Phoenix). Well, back to the main issue, urban areas are not only going to swell because of resource issues but also people desire services and goods not found in the countryside.
There are benefits and downsides to the re-densification of urban areas. One of the benefits is we will be able to reclaim some of the arable land in the United States, decrease the threat to our food chain and the natural environments that aid in the well-being of this planet. Another benefit is the chance for communities to develop and people to interact. These days people are stand-offish and there is a lack of community. Perhaps this re-population can resolve this issue (ex: new movement of condos like in New York that offer services that bring tenants together). Some of the downsides are crowds and traffic. However, the biggest sacrifice would be people giving up their cars and opting for mass transit. Most Americans won't embrace mass transit like Europeans, we like our freedom too much. However, if we want to make a big impact on our carbon footprint on the environment, we had best invest in fuel-efficient methods of getting from point A to point B. Let's only hope that our future doesn't look like Lagos (the current 'Mad Max' megalopolis of hell).
1. I see this research as a distraction to real issues. I did not view it as directed at each woman individual, although, I am sure as individuals, different women would reflect upon the professor's research differently.
2. I don't believe any piece of research or commentary isn't without a shred of bias. Even myself is affected by my own personal experiences, etc. One can try to be resolute and cast out things that could affect one's viewpoint but living and having a free will, I think that makes things difficult.
3. I don't think I did. However, I probably used my pulpit as a means to voice my opinions about "some" men's viewpoints and regards of women. Perhaps, I stretched my opinion too far?
4. Never made that assumption, I think that is your assumption since I didn't not bring it up. Just because I didn't not address it does not mean I don't know that women are just as capable of harsh acts (i.e. starting stuff) as men. I think you verbally shot yourself in the foot with that statement.
5. I see no point in trying to distinguish who is smarter when research in areas such as AIDS, Cancer, Alzheimer's, and Autism need more funding and considerable attention than research such as this.
6. Perhaps poor work is a viable reason, but I again point out, its difficult to rule out bias when it is part of you and part of society, sadly.
7. Did I ignore the plight of men? I simply didn't address it. Perhaps that was a misgiving on my part. I really think it is sad that you would say "Perhaps you are just blind to anything that does not directly effect you." To me that is a premeditated attack upon myself, when you do not know me personally nor the effects of my upbringing.
I am not blind to plight of men. Men have been misrepresented countless times. Your points are well acknowledged. However, if you examine the people in power. I think men still sit higher than women in many areas of society, even in the media world. Some men, just like some women, have played a great hand at perpetuating stereotypes about one another as well as themselves.
People who recognize this unfair portrayl must make it a duty to fight against it.
8. For that person who said conditioning only affects those who can't think critically. Rubbish! The smartest person can be reduced by conditioning. Read Clive Barker's Book of Blood, in particular the story about the vegetarian and the steak. Think hard, some of the best minds that have unleashed their brillance in the world have interesting habits (not all good mind you either). Habits are formed by conditioning.
9. With regards to your comment about womens' groups. You issue a blanket statement. Are the lives, feelings, or thoughts of women important to you at all? There are lot of hardworking women out there trying to help improve our role in society. Some organizations do things that are backwards to our cause. Women still do not share an equal playing ground with men. If they did, there would be no big need for groups such as NOW. Also, I count how many times I have seen a girls T&A on film yet barely ever seen a guy's widget? Not that its a necessary thing at all for either, but just a thought.
10. The last thing I want to address is your statement about women being shallow as men. I don't think I ever thought of all men as shallow. There are definitely tons of men and women who are shallow. To say women are more mercenary than men. Well, that is a joke. Mercenary implies materialism. What is materialism? A desire for wealth and material possessions with little interest in ethical or spiritual matters. If you notice how many women are involved in church, temple, or prayer, I think you could eat those words. There are women out there that do want to be wealthy and have things for themselves. However, I contest that there are plenty of men out that what to be wealthy and have things for themselves. Being wanton, is not indigenous to men or women, greed is societal and plagues us all. I know, I got a bad DVD habit, but I am
I don't comment much on Slashdot.org. I mostly read and analyze the information provided. I check out comments from time to time. Being a female, I do feel inclined to comment on this post.
I simply do not regard this gentleman's research to have any bearing on me or the makeup of my mind. I am not insipid or stupid. I am sure I am ignorant of subjects that hold little interest for me just like many others, male or female.
If some men want to be brash and make a cockup of things in the world, let them dine on cheese and wine. I have more fruitful endeavors to pursue such as my own education, my contributions to society as a worker, educator, and a mother to my future children.
Though some men would like to dimiss us, women have played significant roles in the development of men. That is no small feat. Raising children is a critical process of life and a daunting one.
Women have a great capacity to contribute to the world just like men. We have in fact contributed many things in various fields.
Society plays a huge role in grooming people. Of course, there is a certain amount of free will, but conditioning is a powerful thing. As a woman, when I look at magazines, television, etc, women are not treated the same as men. Women are provided with superficial imagery and the conditioning it imposes, which is to be beautiful, be thin, be popular, date (i.e. date good looking or someone with money) guys, get married and have children.
Things are not not as rigid like they were in the past. However, the importance of looks and stereotypical female roles of the past are still blindly emphasized and are jejune.
Stereotypes are one of the biggest issues facing everyone and women. However, there is also the ingracious facet of human behavior of survival of by any means necessary, and if this means, subverting a group within the human race to make sure another is on top, it will happen. It seems one of the faults of our design.
It could have always worked the other way around with women on top and men on bottom. Unfortunately, women, as a collective majority, not speaking individually, have begrudgely faced this assimiliation into a stereotypical, conditioned servitude for some time now.
When we do speak up, we are often dismissed, belittled, or made fun of. I really wish that the men out there who feel inclined to inflict pain upon us, put us down, etc could really understand how much they are undermining society due to a selfish, egotistic, ingrating need to be top dog.
NOTE: I say some men not all.

I agree with what other people have said about BitTorrent being blindly labeled as a P2P. I frankly do not find BitTorrent as useful as WinMX or Newsgroups are for MP3s.
I think BitTorrent creates a semi-fair sharing structure that would be great for small downloads rather than large downloads. I think it's probably an excellent way to share patches, isos, and updates etc.
And yes, it has changed the access of Anime fansubs dramatically. I agree, like others, the drawback is that if the file isn't popular anymore, where everyone has episode 4 and are now on episode 32 i.e. Naruto, your chances are slim to none to get within the same day or the next.
Any amount you're getting will be far surpassed by the amount given to those uploading (because you are a seed, too). So, in other words, there is a side effect of unintentional bandwidth leeching.
Also, another drawback to large files is corruption. It's painfully frustrating to download an anime fansub, only for it to be corrupted in the end. Combine that with the scenario aforementioned, and you just end up very angry at your time lost.
I think for me, I will stick to newsgroups. Although,.rar files are so inadequate considering other types of encoding methods, the use of WinRAR and SmartPar, reduce the number of corruptions and the downloads are speedier.
It's obvious that the majority of Anime Geeks out there can't wait to see Trigun. I am not embarassed to say that I haven't seen Trigun. Anime is an expensive habit as most know. Looking at all my Cowboy Bebop and 11 Rurouni Kenshin DVDs reminds me of this all the time.
Honestly, while bringing Trigun to Cartoon Network is great. I really think Cartoon Network needs a facelift. Their scheduling is horrid. I don't mind watching episodes of what I have seen before but not in a repetitive manner.
I think their non-Japanese selection needs to change up. I would love to see them revamp and do a morning program line up paying tribute to USA's Cartoon Express. Does anyone remember that? That was a catchy little morning wake-up call for kids.
Cartoon Network should also have cohesive monthly themes or re-work montages like Cartoon Theatre. Perhaps, have like a vintage block or Anime OAV Theatre.
These are just random things that have passed through my mind.
Personally, besides them beginning to show some great anime like Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, and.hack//Sign - I hope to see Cartoon Network adopt some older anime titles.
I think there is nothing wrong airing vintage anime in regular brodcast or Adult Swim. You're a baka (just kidding, of course), if you think otherwise! There are plenty of people out there that haven't seen My Neighbor Totoro, Magic Rayearth Knights, Cultural Cat Nuku Nuku,Dirty Pair, Star Blazers, Robotech, Bubblegum Crisis, Blue Seed, Urusei Yatsura, Revolutionary Girl Utena, El Hazard,Escaflowne, RG Veda, Fushigi Yuugi, etc.
Decent new material for Cartoon Network to grab would be:
- Chobits - Rizelmine - Aoi Yori Aoshi - Rahxephon - Jin Roh - Spriggan - Fruits Basket - Hellsing - Full Metal Panic! - GTO - Strawberry Eggs - His and Her Circumstances
I agree with the others have previously said:
- Excel Saga is not a good idea for Cartoon Network. While a great Anime (Spoof), unless your a die hard Anime fan and have an understanding about Japanese cultural behavior, it will be a anime hard to understand and enjoy thoroughly. End Result: Limited Fanbase.
- Megumi Hayashibara is Queen of Japanese Voice Acting. One of the best around and hard to top. Yes, her stint as Faye Valentine was not great. Nobody's perfect, ne?
Personally, I can't wait to see what ADV's Anime Channel will have to bring to the table. Unfortunately, it's only testing in the Philly area for now.

What is your opinion on the choice of music used in Star Trek? During, the time that you worked on Star Trek, what did you listen to (i.e. your personal tastes)?

Ps. I have often wonder if you awoke out of a nightmare with the standard Trek battle music playing your head.. You know Da Da Da.. Dadadaaaaaaaaaaaaa (cheap sound effects ----- )
This product has been on the market for a long time. Why the press now? Anyhow, I think the design is definitely interesting and intuitive for the semi-literate PC-using public.
I think Sony's Mini Disc with USB is a great idea but I deplore the horrible software that comes with it. It is not intuitive and is extremely aggravating to use. What the Mini Disc has going for it is that the hardware and functions are for the most part tight.
However, the best MP3 Player (DMP) that I have come across is the Frontier Labs Nex II. Awesome product!!
Initially I bought an RCA Lyra. It was to be a present for my boyfriend. I like to woo my geek with geeky hardware.
It came with a lot of goodies. It seemed too good to be true and it was.
It claims to be a MP3 player but you have to use MusicMatch to transfer *cough* convert *cough* music to the player which then stores the song in another format on the player.
After which, you can't move the song back because it isn't in the MP3 format anymore.
I bought an MP3 player to play MP3s, correct?
I ended up returning the product in favor of the Nex II which allows you to move MP3s to it without compromising the format. Nice!!
Before the Nex II, I did consider a Rio since I love my Rio MP3 CD Player but when you drag and drop the files to the Rio they are changed into an SDMI-encrypted format. You can't get the MP3 back either from this device.
Just some information that I wanted to share from my MP3 player experiences.
Note: Perhaps there are ways to get around the obstacles that some of these devices present but is it really worth the aggravation? You be the judge of that.:)
You know what no extras means... It means they are probably are going to release another two other cuts (I am probably dreaming on this) of this movie with extras features on each.
It almost appears that is what Movie Distributors are doing these days. They will take a popular movie release it to DVD with barely anything on it at $19.99 to $29.99. Then you will see retail stores start dropping the price. Eventually you see a special edition release then a director's cut then a criterion release etc etc...
Its all geared to make you blow money to buy a movie 3 to 4 times over.....
Just look at Frank Herbert's Dune, the one released off Sci-Fi.
They just put out the Director's Cut with 30 minutes more material... Wooohooo and new packaging... *sigh*
I am excited by the phase out of VHS. I enjoy my DVD player immensely.
I think it is only natural for Circuit City to phase it out. I know it isn't doing much business for them. DVD is starting to build momentum especially when DVD players have lowered in price. This is encouraging consumers to tap into the DVD market.
It is important also to the Industry for DVD to catch consumer interest because they are trying to lay the ground for DVD Audio and DVD Recording.
VHS will hang around simply for the fact that it is the cheapest means to record. DVD Recorders are not going to fall into a feasibly range for consumers until 2-3 years from now.
I forsee Circuit City really playing up Home Audio in the next year or so. Its going to be where the money is at.
The consumer is going to want their own Home Theater more than ever. Along with that Home Theater, they are going to want a nice TV. They are banking on these things. It's their bread and butter.
Also, I see a lot of people taking the time to invest in dissing Circuit City. Circuit City has lots of good ideas. They are just not always implemented properly. This can be said for the majority of companies out there. I'd like you to show the perfect company with a pristine record.
Anyways, companies do good. Check out Upromise. A good program for those wanting to save money to send their kids to college. Circuit is just one of the many investigating in this neat idea.
Admittedly, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I don't want people to steal my identity and ruin my life nor do I want the Government to give my personal convictions and actions to anyone with enough influence or money.
I live in Virginia. We already have a barcode imprinted on the back of our Driver's License. I am only thankful that it doesn't seem to be a system in wide use (as far as I know).
While I am supportive to find a way to protect our identity and interests, this type of proprosal will ultimately infringe be our doom as it seems of late that we're giving up more and more of our freedoms.
The Government doesn't seem to be ruled by the people but the Corporations. I am not the first to make this connection, and it isn't an epiphany. This situation just stinks.
Like others have stated, I don't want my neighbor to know what medications I am on. They don't need to know that me and my husband (if I were married) are in marriage counseling nor what I had for dinner last night. I also don't want anyone to reveal my spiritual beliefs, medical history, or financial status to anyone else.
I don't think this is an adequate resolution to our crisis with Identity Theft. Unfortunately, I have thought of a solution to counteract ideas like this personally.
I don't want to see a future like Gattaca nor a world where we are marked like the Jews & other prisoners taken by Nazis in WWII. Perhaps, these are some harsh examples, but I think they are necessary to illustrate the threat to our civil liberty and freedom.
With this type of marking, it truly voids the statement that Thomas Jefferson made in the Declaration of Independence that "we are all created equal.." We won't be equals anymore but our differences will be heavily prominated in front of face. Is military rule in our future?
After watching Phantom Menace and being a child of the 80s, how could I not be but a bit disappointed. It just wasn't what I thought it would be. It was overtly cheesy. The comedy was very forced. It didn't seem natural.
I had no problem with the graphics. Of course, I hated Jar Jar. He was the main representative of the cheesy comedy that ensued within the film.
Another fault I found was that Darth Maul didn't seem evil enough. The part was dimunitive.
I didn't like the Trade Federation reps either as I find their voices and appearance very annoying. They were even very menacing.
The robots, egads, they didn't need to talk. "Roger, Roger"... could you be more cliche?
The biggest beef I have is with the Anakin saves the day sequence... This whole scene was far fetched from the Auto pilot to the sudden overheating of his ship to the uncanny idea that a chief component - determinal to the starbase was inside a landing hanger.
Ok... enough dissing PM for it wasn't all bad.
Now when I heard what Lucas decided to call Episode II, I inherently whinced. I begun to glaze over. I wanted more action less overcheesy forced comedy. Also, I was to look forward to a fluffer romance. Mind you... I am a GIRL! I like romances.. but after PM... I want action. hehe...
However, I changed mind my after reading an article issued by TIME. I became hopeful. I have seen images and I have seen some small footage from the movie. I am actually excited about Star Wars again. Perhaps, there is a charm about second chances. I can't wait!!
If you want to check out that TIME article... visit here:
Your comment is well said, but I don't have the same perspective. Here is just an alternative thought, and I am not saying its right or wrong.
In trying to understand, nothing is futile. It is not a concession to defeat. When you cease and give up your inate ability to reason, decipher, or diffuse the essence of a situation - in these terms only should one be deemed an irrationalist.
Webster defines irrationalism as "a system emphasizing intuition, instinct, feeling, or faith rather than reason or holding that the universe is governed by irrational forces." I don't agree with this at all. As this an opinion in itself. One's reality is not another's.
People are a balance of rationalism and irrationalism. I think the real issue is when people lean in one direction too much.
Many people will allow faith to dissolve the balance between this philosophic line. This is when a great deal of problems arise, and it becomes impossible to relate and exist in harmony. There is a certain air of righteousness that starts to form. Convictions based on this lapse of overbloated faith.
Many people who turn to Spiritualism are seeking themselves and an understanding about the interworkings of life itself. It is isn't about a humanly figure waving his hand and creating something. It is about the divine ability to understand that we exist in a symbiotic world. We are important to each other and every thing that exists. Our reality affects other realities.
Oft the world may be a conundrum and at times inexplicably obtuse, however - it is this so called ability to achieve a balance that gives us the real power and nothing is futile. Futility is a stale, flat and unprofitable state.
I think it imprudent to establish a world in which futility is easily given as an excuse for what could be. Things that have evolved in our own realities have developed because of an ability to think beyond what we see.
What's really futile? It's when we don't dwell on the possibilities. Its when we give up the ability to think and we just quit because of an impass in particular belief. There is such the thing a thing called Compromise. You don't have to agree, you don't have to give up, but we can all come to an understanding. If we come to a wall, we find a way around it. Why should we if we built it in the first place.
I am probably rambling... but I just throwing thoughts out... No one here is right or wrong... We just are.
As a scientist by heart, this is a very interesting and crafty experiment. Of course it works off the findings of Pavlov's Conditioning.
You are conditioning the cat to either (1) drop the dead animal if it wishes to come inside or (2) remain outdoors.
As a animal lover, it bothers me should this actually be put to use as a consistant system. Whether humans understand or not, animals are far more intelligent than we think. The behavior of animals is quite instinctual and what would be the circumstances if we were to change their modes of thinking. Would it be possible by to ascertain that one of the following things might happen from this experiment:
(1) Cat runs away as it instinctually cannot assert its confidence. Much comparison has been made between dogs and cats. Cats seem predestined to take a singluar, individualistic, confident role in the food chain compared to dogs that rely on a class of relationship or borg mentality. Well dogs aren't completely borg but they seek out affection more out of insecurity and reassurance than cats.
(2) cat becomes feral or wild due to lack of fealty and companionship toward owner.
I have read many of the replies posted here, and it really makes me cringe.
Final Fantasy was more than just a concept. It was a tremendous leap of faith and artistic conviction.
When you all speak of digital animation, you seem to expect perfection. I am sorry.. unless humans become perfect (which would be a dream, eh) then you are not going to have a perfect film.
I truly do believe that the majority people are being terribly hard and unfair of this film.
This film had a heart and soul. Of course, some things could have been improved upon, but you have to make due with the constraints of a budget and people who have their particular vision.
I think more effort could have been afforded to emotional expression and facial movement for speech.
I also wholly agree with what some are saying about the bankability of such movies. A lot of people are just not ready for totally CG in the face like that of Final Fantasy.
I loved the movie. I got the idea, and I understood the premise of the movie. Although I haven't seen every animated feature out there... I thought the story was beautiful and sensitive to the truths of human nature. The movie was very eco-driven and spiritual.
A lot of people expected the movie to springboard off one of the FF game storylines. I am glad it didn't.
I never played FF until after I saw the movie. I just never felt persuaded by the RPG. After seeing the movie I got a feel for Hironobu. But, then I saw the trailer on the DVD for FFX. My eyes were mesmerized. I cried. It was so stunning.
I got FFX for my birthday. I just can't get enough of it. If there was a version of FFX for the big screen, I'd be there. However, without Final Fantasy Studios.. what is the chance of that happening or any other dream above a dream.
This recent Microsoft event really doesn't surprise me, but then again is it really a big deal? No, it isn't.
I don't think Microsoft really cares about this. With the market share they have, this is just a small pesky fly that can be easily crushed, wiped up and tossed out.
It doesn't affect them at all. It only services to create a news drift.
Hey I am not supporting Microsoft, but I am trying to be logical about the whole thing.
Also, it may be PU press for Microsoft, but it gets their name in the headlines. Their name stays fresh.
This movie was everything I could have hoped for and more. For a long time I have meant to read the Lord of the Rings. I recently read The Hobbit for the first time. I made a decision to see the movie before I read the first book in the series.
I am happy that I made this choice. The Hobbit gave me a feel for the characters and surroundings. When I saw the movie, I was overwhelmed by the performances. Bilbo and Gandalf had jumped out of my mind into film. They were exactly the way I envisioned them to be.
The backgrounds were beauitiful. The fights were realistic and disarming, especially in the Mines of Moria. The trolls came out of the ceiling like a million cockroaches and encircled a group of 9, only then for them to scatter from the quake of a demon. Amazing!
What brought me greater joy, is this outing will remain in memory for a long time. December 19th was my birthday, but it was also my 25th birthday. I am quarter of a century old. What a terrific memory for my soul.
Long live Tolkien! *hrm* *cough* Now I will sit down and read the first installment in this lovely saga. Honestly, I have a bad case of perma-grin.:)

- Toni Morrison
- Dalai Lama
As far as those who have passed on, who will be read for years to come:

I have looked at many comments coming from Americans. I am thoroughly saddened and berieved by the events that have taken place. However, it is not prudent or logical to run around with our heads lopped off like chickens for the slaughter.
Justice must and will prevail. I do not agree with a war like attitude. I dispise the news broadcasters for mentioning war and Pearl Harbor. This is just not the same as Pearl Harbor. Why rehash history? This is something of a reality shaker. It is time to wake up and realize that we and the world are extremely vulnerable.
Now more than ever do we need to bond together and work to erradicate hatred, violence and the like.
I have personally in my 24 years of exsistence have not agreed with our stance on the battle between Israel and Palestine. However, I feel Palestine and Israel are fighting a futile struggle. Neither are accomplishing anything but tearing the land, people, and world apart. So many people are dying and for what???? Land??? Religion???
Yes, I understand the nature of a cause. I will not condone their bloodshed nor ours. However, if countries are going to affect other countries... there needs to be organizations to resolve these matters... Someone must Police.. Unfortunately, since we have such a foothold... We are one of the Policers and with that comes tremendous burdens...
Those who do not believe in freedom or civility will react harshly. I won't say we have always made the best decisions. No one is ever perfect. Running a country and making decisions that can affect the world is a stressful task.
The gluttony and greed of the world never cease to amaze me even as sometimes it takes the shroud of a religious habit.
Maybe there is a good reason not to have cable *grin*. I am set anyhow cuz I have the entire Cowboy Bebop DVD collection, so Cartoon Network can eat my dust cuz I'll be lapping up miles of time in front of my DVD Player.

I frankly do not find BitTorrent as useful as WinMX or Newsgroups are for MP3s.
.rar files are so inadequate considering other types of encoding methods, the use of WinRAR and SmartPar, reduce the number of corruptions and the downloads are speedier.
Although,
It's obvious that the majority of Anime Geeks out there can't wait to see Trigun. I am not embarassed to say that I haven't seen Trigun. Anime is an expensive habit as most know. Looking at all my Cowboy Bebop and 11 Rurouni Kenshin DVDs reminds me of this all the time.
.hack//Sign - I hope to see Cartoon Network adopt some older anime titles.
Personally, besides them beginning to show some great anime like Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, and
I think there is nothing wrong airing vintage anime in regular brodcast or Adult Swim.
- Chobits
- Rizelmine
- Aoi Yori Aoshi
- Rahxephon
- Jin Roh
- Spriggan
- Fruits Basket
- Hellsing
- Full Metal Panic!
- GTO
- Strawberry Eggs
- His and Her Circumstances
During, the time that you worked on Star Trek, what did you listen to (i.e. your personal tastes)?
.. Dadadaaaaaaaaaaaaa (cheap sound effects ----- )
~ Lynn
Ps. I have often wonder if you awoke out of a nightmare with the standard Trek battle music playing your head.. You know Da Da Da
This product has been on the market for a long time. Why the press now? Anyhow, I think the design is definitely interesting and intuitive for the semi-literate PC-using public.
:)
You be the judge of that.
You know what no extras means... It means they are probably are going to release another two other cuts (I am probably dreaming on this) of this movie with extras features on each.
....
It almost appears that is what Movie Distributors are doing these days. They will take a popular movie release it to DVD with barely anything on it at $19.99 to $29.99. Then you will see retail stores start dropping the price. Eventually you see a special edition release then a director's cut then a criterion release etc etc...
Its all geared to make you blow money to buy a movie 3 to 4 times over.
Just look at Frank Herbert's Dune, the one released off Sci-Fi.
They just put out the Director's Cut with 30 minutes more material... Wooohooo and new packaging... *sigh*
Wierd Science is out on DVD. Check Amazon, silly! ^_^
I am excited by the phase out of VHS. I enjoy my DVD player immensely.
s /c ircuitCityCoBr.html?ax=circuitcitycobrand

Cats aren't complete loners, ya' know.
Just some thoughts to cast out for conversation.
Ciao!
^shrugs^
This movie was everything I could have hoped for and more. For a long time I have meant to read the Lord of the Rings. I recently read The Hobbit for the first time. I made a decision to see the movie before I read the first book in the series.
:)
Honestly, I have a bad case of perma-grin.
Honestly, its hard for me to not to mention writers who are deceased. However, some worthwhile writers that are still alive that I believe will be read in the years to come are:
- Anne Rice
- William Gibson
- Terry Pratchett
- Maeve Binchy
- Clive Barker
- Toni Morrison
- Dalai Lama
As far as those who have passed on, who will be read for years to come:
- Frank Herbert
- John Steinbeck
- Jane Austen
- Zora Neale Hurston
:) Unedited, Uncensored, and totally Dub Free 24-7; This would be my only reason to subscribe to Cable or Satellite TV.. If you can import BBC & Much Music... Why not Anime? Got Ed?
As Ed would call Cartoon Network - "Lunkhead, Lunkhead!"
Personally, I think there should be an All Anime Station...
PS. If you haven't seen Final Fantasy, its a real treat despite what the Slashdot crew said.
This really does not surprise me! It might also explain why my main Yahoo! accounts are receiving lots of porn advertisement e-mail. I am not interested in it and I don't want to hear about it. I have got coding to do!
Thanks to the almighty gods - Yahoo! implemented a block address feature not too long ago...*raises an eyebrow*
You're definitely right. I admit I was being quick about my comment. I totally agree with what your saying.
I can't really speak for the majority at large, but I think many would agree that Nerds/Geeks have a point of view. Since we play a big factor in the Wired movement, why can't we have a bit of say so with balance, fairness, objectivity, sincerity, and concern.
People get labeled so much.. well let's just use our labeling to our advantage.
I think having a nerd viewpoint is essential in make sure that we adequate and meaningful decisions made about the Wired World as we know it
I would like to know. You sit and you speak of how horrible things are because of what BIG CORPorations are doing (Nike as example). However, what are you even doing to help the people who are being taken advantage of in countries outside the US. I would really like to know. Is it because your lax, a procrastinator, all words no action, or do you just like something to argue about? Stop wasting precious energy and do something meaningful.
And on that note...I am leaving to go do some good for my fellow man.
Thank you!
