Well, when i first heard of photoshop it sounded to me like a program used by the people who develop film, this was when all i knew about computers is you could play little games like outrun and megaman after typing wierd stuff in dos.
The stupid acronyms used to describe a useful utility aren't less obfuscating than the metaphors you speak of. Image manipulation program is easier to understand than photoshop... but gimp isn't.
Well, as someone that uses his computer at home/school instead of some supermegaultra large corporation i can honestly say a good id3 reader would be much more useful to me than an email server type thing that isn't an email server somehow.
To me a good mp3 player is more worthwhile than an email server which does things other than send email.
My point was that its stupid to choose the more popular installer if there are much better choices (if you've ever used apt or portage you wouldn't even think about going back to an rpm based distro).
I think its cool that someone wants to make a standard for distros but they should choose the best stuff from each one, not "the standard should resemble redhat".
If they plan to use rpm then i guess i'll make sure my distribution isn't LSB compliant.
If they wanted to choose the most popular packaging system they should've gone with installshield and force distros to have binary compatibility with windows apps.
I've always seen math as being a form of communication, a language used by science, engineering, etc.
By the way according to WordNet:
12:09 "computer science" wn "WordNet (r) 1.7" 12:09 computer science 12:09 n : the branch of engineering science that studies (with the aid 12:09 of computers) computable processes and structures
So you're saying that the illegally downloaded songs don't affect the amount of money they are making and that they didn't take this into account when they started the company
Pfft, fluxbox is obviously superior to blackbox in every way.
btw, q3 owns ut

It seems to be good for browsing documentation, help files, etc. The current help programs for gnome and kde take about 6.022x10e23 hours to load =/
The ruby language
Comes from the land of haiku
Much better than perl
Does your code support integers larger than 16, 32, 64 bits?
That would make sense if the servers weren't "sponsored".

I used to call quake3 a game until the 1.27 patches where released
i think he was talking about Jews as in semites, hebrews, etc.
Google also uses dmoz for its directory listing.
You need to download models, but not skins.
I think the article is about models not skins anyway.

you have to remember that .rm files don't consume as much banddwidth as .mp3. Anyway, the files are on the site so they are still giving them away.
Half-Life, TFC, and CounterStrike. The three best games in existence and two of them are free (as long as you have halflife).
Suppose you are going to McDonald's and a 20% discount for the Burger King a block away pops up on your cell phone.
The US might not have a large military but they (probably) have the most advanced technology.

Then what's Angband?
yeah, but those zealots can't really expect the entire software industry to change overnight.
That's because this is a game and there aren't many big commercial games opening their code.
Whats the point of DOSing and DDOSing? It seems like a stupid way to waste you're own bandwidth
