everyone replying that a signature is cursive needs to take a look at most signatures. Pretty far from cursive, I would say.
I think, if we stopped teaching cursive in schools the medical, professional and credit communities would get along fine. A signature is just what you make of it.
ummm this is about cursive. all my jots are printed.
the shorthand is inappropriate in an academic environment as are alot of other slangy things..but outside, they are fine. If it is understood, good. The point of writing is to convey, not to look pretty. So no, older generations won't know the internet slang..but generation now does and now will lead the future, not generation dead. tyvm, have a nice day.
Ive never ever used cursive. EVER. Papers are typed, or if handwritten they are printed. Letters? Typed. Cursive is useless. Am I clueless, or what exactly is the use?
Evolve or die. Im sorry your penmanship organization is now going to be useless. Continue to teach the kids to print, that won't be going away all too soon.
In fact, one of the next revolutions in comp use is handwriting recognition.
Anyways, my point is. Cursive is useless. I know no one who actually uses it, in a professional common manner. NOT writing letters, notes. Something that REQUIRES it. Or is BETTERED by it.
umm.....theres this thing called interference. if you use 802.11 as an overkill solution for all the little range devices its going to be virtual suicide for itself. thats where bluetooth shines
an 802.11 mouse? give me a break. you must be joking right?
id prefer my more phonely nokia 3650, which seems to have all the same features- is already color and has a builtin camera. what os does the csk run? i sure hope its as flexible as symbian/java combo;)
and seriouslly,a data-only plan? geeks need lives-not another way to check slashdot:) j/k
government vs citizen rights are a whole nother ballgame, as governments have no inherent rights, only those which we give it. We need to stop giving up so many of ours to them.
And ya, someone can put you in a movie. But they cant put you in a commercial, or an ad in any way. So it's not as cut and dry as you think.
Politics is a hefty balance. Sure, people want to feel safe...but its always at a cost and always with a limit. The US exploited sept 11th to get all kinds of ignorant laws past the people, with no accountability that anything they do really does make anybody safer. Personally, I didnt think that the casual speeder, which is what these systems are designed to catch- people doing 30 over on backroads will still do just that- were that much of a problem. But hey, Im the type that prefers my tax dollars being used to hunt down rapists or get child abusers put away. But youre right, that guy bill down the street who does 43 in that 35 zone really deserves to be beat.
hey dumbass, you cant automatically level a playing field that is tilted.
cost isnt the reason for ms's monopoly..market penetration and strongarming is.
lets see..use a free product, or use a ms product that ms is giving away for free that it in turn monopolizes onto the rest of the population. ill take that so we are compatible.
im sorry buddy. when you become a monopoly, you cant just one day say. ok we'll play fair from here on out. hell this story isnt even about playing level, as you say. its a discussion of whether you think microsoft is indeed being philanthropic, which has nothing to do with OSS in the first place.
have u been to a store lately? lets see..best buy sells pcs with....windows! i just bought a laptop and was forced to pay the ms tax, when i have an unused xp copy with license right here.
people that deny ms is a monopoly are blind. whether they gained it fairly is irrelevant, whether they are playing fair now is irrelevant. a monopoly is a monopoly is a monopoly and is BAD for the people.
yea, sure. gsm is dead. yup. go build your own wcdma or cdma2000 network. go ahead. gsm is the standard, like it or not. there will be little consumer pressure for cmda as opposed to gsm. everyone wants gsm because its been the standard in europe/world and will now be the standard in the us as well.
being technically superior does not automagically grant you standard status. christ, by youre logic one should never deploy anything because there is always something almost ready thats almost better.
ummm ya. thats an idealistic way to look at it. another way of looking at it is that money talks. corporate america has all the money. the majority of americans are sheep, so a grassroots voteout will not work, they will not react until pushed extremely far. so how bout some campaign finance reform. the country should be run by common people who come from real jobs, not career politicians.
ummm..encourage community service, support it, give incentives. but do NOT require it. In schools or in workplaces. It defeats the fundamental concept at it's very core. If you create an environment where cs is easy and well respected, people will participate. But DO NOT require it. Thats not their job, however ambivalent and idealistic you may be.

dont be a fool, wrap your tool! ....
ummm, i think oh-three, oh-four is much better than three, four. ok?
Basically, I can't see this replacing cheap student labour. Just my two cents. did u read the article? it already is....

you knock players of mmorpgs, yet you toiled away as a guide for 16months, wrote this rant and another article as well.
youre a winner.
maybe there will be a c64 release as well.
Im from Maine. Most people deny being from Biddeford and if they don't, they should.
he was referring more towards the formation of the eu itself. im sure you read the following paragraphs of his post, no?
well if u have the money, ebay has unlocked 3650s :)

upgrade to the 7650 or 3650 nokia.
what major film distributors are not a part of the mpaa...
*monopoly*
whatever unifies them into one entity, and acts as one entity.

given the logic of your statements, you prolly are almost a chimp

support the developers by buying a product that isnt all that superior to a free version put out by other developers.
i think not.

daoc is the only thing i miss about going windows free. none of the other mmorpgs match it, period.
then rebuff that statement
