I would love to see the player in a small formfactor version since they really don't use much of the case...

Basically it boils down to: Yes, if you want to play the latest 3D-Games you better get a new machine.

I don't see why this is bad? I personally dislike 3D Games since they all look alike. If you want you can still play great games with older Hardware, the whole simulation, build-up scene for instance. And most likely your system could even handle games such as DarkAge of Camelot or Everquest, wich are games with a focus on gameplay and not grafics. I agree, there are a lot of crappy games out there with really stunning grafic fx, but i don't care about them (anymore). I let my friends play them and when one diamond among them is found i consider wether it's worth the hardware upgrade. The last game i did this for was Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Had to upgrade for 20$ and get a TNT2 to play it at decent fps. Now i wonder what doom3 brings. Is it worth the upgrade to Radeon/GeForceFx? I don't know. Maybe I will keep waiting for WarhammerOnline until I upgrade. But someone will betatest for me and then i can still stick with my XentorTNT2/32MB and keep playing Anno1503 or DarkAges.

  10. More pics than in my whole life before? When? on The Growth of Picture Phones · · Score: 1

How long until there are more pictures of us than in our whole life before? On my New years eve party there were three digicams this year taking approximately 500 Pictures together. That would make about 50 pics with my nose on it. I assume there have been about 1000 to 2000 pictures shot in my lifetime since 1976 (i mean those i agreed to take only). Let's make a quick guess: Given the fact that camhandies will take off later this year (after CeBIT) i assume that during this year there will be at least a middle of 100 pics being taken of me a month. That would make a rough guess of 1200pics a year. Good chance that next time around this year there will be more pics of me than in my whole life before.

That's very true. Another point i see is that they keep forgetting that people often think traditional. I live in a nice old building (about 100 years old) and I wouldn't install any screen wallpaper in it. The point is: Old things are nice too and people tend to keep it. Therefore sci-fi movies where EVERYTHING is new and stylish feel so unrealistic (StarTrek). Scenarios where new things are added to old, traditional stuff have a much more serious touch (such as bladerunner or maybe fifth element).

When i told my boss about it he got us some of those gyrotwister things and we use it like hell since its fun. And it helped to cure the mouse arm.
