This summer has been very very busy (fun) for us. In the middle of a MAJOR Cisco IOS upgrade, several worms get unleashed. Then while combatting those things, we get hit by the massive power failure that reveals that some of Cisco's new code doesn't recover perfectly after a power failure... as in... DOESN'T WORK. The GUI is a layer of abstraction that DOES NOT require changing of a perfectly working CLI in order to advance it [the GUI]. If you want a GUI, make a GUI, but don't screw with my commands. I used to (still have, except it broke) have a Creative Jukebox (1st gen) and it was the most clumsy, counter-intuitive thing in the world. I just got a 15 gig iPod along with my TiBook (they give a $200 rebate to students for that combo). I absolutely adore my iPod. I don't run OS X on my laptop, I run Linux and gtkpod is an awesome application. It does everything I need it to do for the iPod. Two friends of mine have bought iPods since I got mine. It's great because between SSH or SSL web sites and one time passwords, you don't need to worry about people key logging, sniffing, or even looking over your shoulder while typing in a password. The only problem is I basically bring mine wherever I go, should I need to login.
